This place is actually really cool. So looks like they are converting some books a million over to these 2nd charles stores. So the place is full of some new and mostly trade ins. They had junk in there that was some really legit good deals. Used game consoles and games. They had huge collection of comics and alot of the stuff was on sale. I am a huge comic fan but dont ask people who work there about comics. The comics are in no order and the people working dont even know how to read the bar code to tell you what print the comic is on. Additionally what irked me is they charge people $1 for free comics given to US soliders. They had neat toys and nick knacks that I haven't seen before. They had a huge DVD collection. Alot of vinyl to look at. Everything is at a great discount except for the new stuff obviously. Really its a cool store and hope they open one up closer to where I live. read more

They have a great selection of items but if you're thinking about selling RPG books and other expensive games/comics or pretty much anything...THINK AGAIN! Expect to get about 5% of what you originally paid, if that. read more

Such a neat store with a ton of gift items for that person who's hard to buy for. I enjoy going in here and just looking at what new things they've gotten. They change things up a good bit which is nice. Their buy back is a little bit disappointing only because they have so many of the same books/movies coming in, but that's my only complaint. The workers are always nice and helpful. read more

I went here with a friend who was selling them some stuff, and ended up leaving with two records and a book. The records were very well taken care of; no scratches or dust. All of their used records even have a plastic sleeve over them for protection. I was not expecting this much attention to detail. Great selection of books and vinyl! I'll definitely be back. read more

This looked like a good place to sell some items while clearing out my parents house after they passed away. I was made to wait hours and was then insulted by these greedy bastards offering me $15.00 for several hundred dollars worth of items. These were not weird junk that nobody would want or use, It was very useful helpful things that everyone could use. I will NEVER set foot in these crap hole ever again. andI suggest you do the same. read more

2nd & Charles... if you're passing near one and love music, books, movies... even comics, it is well worth your time to stop by and have a look around. I discovered this place on one of my trips to Florida, from the Columbus Georgia-Phenix City AL area just to the north of Dothan a short drive away, stopped in and was hooked. I've since been to the location in Columbus and one in the Atlanta area, each one slightly unique and an excellent place to browse and discover something you need for your various media collections. read more

They had a wide variety of comics all organized well from A-Z and usually being valued from $2-$10 giving you more than what you paid. After finding what we wanted we asked for what we bought outside the comic section (game instruction books) to be sleeved and immediately did it for us. Amazing service, best store I ever visited. My wife and I joined friends for a day of visiting the shops, good food, the beach, and the…read moreambiance of 30A while we passed through Seaside, Florida. We even stopped by The Truman House nearby. As a huge fan of bookstores, when we passed by Sundog Books in the evening as our last stop before heading back to our hotel, I was impressed by a well organized and large (and fun) bookstore with so much to see. We didn't roam the second floor as we arrived shortly before closing but there is a record store on the upper floor. We did see apparel and gear for sell including sweatshirts, t-shirts, hoodies, tank tops, hats, mugs, bandanas, and tote bags. In scanning the various sections of the store, I quickly found some of my favorite fiction, historical fiction, and young adult fiction sections along with non-fiction favorites. I also found some new ideas of what I could read next, which I promptly added to my Goodreads account. I also enjoyed roaming the fun gift items, which were very creative but perfect for book loving visitors like me. Established more than 40 years ago by Bob and Linda White, the logo features their former dog Patty. The store was founded on individuality and a respect for independence though nowadays continues to focus on community. Check out their website at https://sundogbooks.com for online shopping, upcoming events, the Bookstore Buzz, and to learn about them. They give out their own Seaside Prize each year to a worthy author or authors. They also have multiple book signings in a typical week (listed on their event calendar). They are open from 9 AM to 8 PM year-round. While I love music and regret not seeing the second floor of records, I was very happy I made it to the store while it was still open. Now, if only I had enough room in my luggage for a number of books to buy while I passed through. Rather, I'll have to settle for online ordering from Sundog Books, which has some rather reasonable prices for a bookstore. I certainly recommend that visitors visit the bookstore and record shop!

I will begin with service - 0 would not be a low enough rating. evidently despite the fact I have visited from out of state ( PA) one to three times a year and spending between $200 - $3200 each visit I do not 'look' like their type of customer. I have never been treated as consistently badly. this time ( my last time) - I saw the merchandise had gotten even lower scale than ever. very little to purchase. However, I was purchasing a piece of smaller furniture for a garden display. - long story short after treating me like garbage and making me wait beyond ( a half hour beyond) my turn they finally managed to ring me up. It took an hour 15 minutes to purchase an item at the posted discount. i am a 70 year old woman with a toddler and could carry the item myself. In addition (Once again) - the woman behind the counter failed to pack all the items I paid for!!! which I discovered when 130 miles away - too late to turn back. -adding insult to injury the staff acted like I was a thief or undesirable. This stunned me because far more upscale shops remember me and welcome my presence. I do not believe ladies ever treat an older customer who has purchased from them over the years in the way I have endured. I'm tired of excusing the shoddy behavior, lack of service and routine failure to pack what I purchase. Please, do yourself a favor and stay away from this deteriorating standards of merchandise establishment. I will travel to other areas in the future and so should you. I have been in the business as a decorator and dealer and this place and it's desperate shabby ( in the worst way) merch and shoddy repro heavy merchandising sets a record for unpleasant and unprofessional.

I will say they are a bit on the higher side in price, but they have many markdowns around the store and their items are quality pieces from the best furniture warehouses in the US. This is not one of those bargain places to buy cute furniture that breaks in a month, this place has sturdy and beautiful pieces. I actually sat down and felt the weight of some of these objects. Since I most likely won't be back in this part of town, they gave me a printout of all the designers and warehouses they order from to get pieces shipped to me, so that was awesome.

This place seems to be tricky. I dropped off 3 bins of books - some of which were older textbooks. (I'm cleaning out my mother's things from the garage. She was a school teacher). I informed the lady who accepted them (Mandi E.) that many of them were +10 years old. They weren't musty or dusty since I wiped each one off before bagging them. She estimated that it would take about 30 minutes to text me with a 'ready' offer. The time was 6:49p. Receiving no text, I returned to the shop 1 hour+ 25 minutes later. Mandi said that she'd entered my books into their machine, but the system wouldn't let her access the offer after 8p. I asked to speak to the manager after she said that she wouldn't text the offer to me later. (I live 45 minutes from this shop). After a few minutes, Mandi returned to retract her words of entering the books' data into the machine, & now said that it hadn't reached that point because of the books' age. Well d---! Really? Or was it just a lack of effort that was followed by a cover-up? She offered to get some assistance for me to retrieve them; but I decided to leave them for their free bin. That was my main point anyway - to recycle them. Hopefully deserving souls will find educational value in them. Hopefully the readers of this long synopsis will find value in learning from my experience. Research your other options please! read more

I transferred here from Augusta GA and one of the things that made the transfer even better was knowing there was a 2nd and Charles here also. This store is not as established as the Augusta store is but it has potential. Great place to shop. read more
