The teachers are willing to work with students and parents to ensure that the student succeeds to the best of his/her ability. Having looked and been accepted at other Catholic high schools, Lowell Catholic was definitely the best fit and the best choice.

I'd be doing the wrong thing by not telling the truth about Lawrence Academy. Here every will answer you that they "as a school" looked into your claims. That's a lie. In 2009 ; I attended Lawrence Academy where I met my abuser. I never did anything to deserve this stalking, invasion of privacy, and harassment. I was a 15-16 year old girl being harassed, bullied and followed by a senior 18 year old hockey player. When I brought my concerns to the school guidance counselor; they said that , "he is an honor student and head of the hockey team, with a girlfriend, what would he possibly want with you." When I wouldn't let up on the issue the female dean or students organized an ambush against me. Having my dorm parents sit me down and say I was an uncivilized human ; and even went as far as getting students in the dorm to make up lies about my conduct. Not only did I develop a severe addiction and eating disorder problem from this school. Talking to men freaked me out until my first real job ; and shaving my head to honestly rid myself of any memory of this place. I am a creative individual who always thought outside the box ; and this is a school that not only will allow assaults- they also want to keep you in a cookie cutter boring box. The best thing that ever happened to me was them kicking me out due to my 1.5 GPA , even when I said I was being assaulted. My favorite was when I was kicked down the fire escape stairs in the main building - and had and have bruises still to show for it - in my iPhone. Never will I EVER forget my days here. Paris Hilton is taking a stand against abuse suffered at boarding schools - and I stand behind her as a victim of Lawrence Academy's inability to provide a safe and healthy environment for its students. I encourage all parents to constantly check in with their children ; and make sure no matter what boarding school - the staff know they are not to harass, abuse, stalk, threaten, belittle, favor ANY CHILD - they are there to protect them. Lawrence YOU failed - and I can't wait to share my story on a much bigger platform.

Absolutely do not send your child here if they are not a jock. There is a lot of bullying, hazing harassment among students living on campus. Anyone who is not a jock is constantly belittled. The large dormitories have one RA per floor, but their doors are always closed. The kids are left to their own devices to govern as they please and the bullies rule. Smaller kids are stuffed in trash cans, pig piled, wedgied, etc. Smaller kids often quit after a couple weeks. When I was there, Lawrence Academy did not offer a track for students that were not jocks, except for "LA2" which was a joke. Perhaps they have changed over the years. They still heavily promote Winterim. During Winterim, the rich kids go Galapagos or some other exotic paradise while the middle class students spend time at a local museum. Lawrence needs to re-think this program. Segregating kids by socio-economic status is a lesson that LA could do without.

They did just completely restore the football and track fields, and security is now top notch updated for the 21st century. For example, some are on their phone during class, even though it is against the rules, but they never get caught. One in teacher in particular claims that students are breaking it, even thought they aren't. Furthermore, I think it is completely inappropriate for kindergartners and below to have nap time on the floor, even if they are on a mat. P.S. As a new mom, I greatly appreciate the human connection that all of the caregivers provide. Every day I am greeted with a smile and asked about how my daughter's night was. Beyond that, the caregivers are always happy to give me advice and support after a long night or fussy morning. I am thoroughly satisfied with her infant care, and am even more excited for her to progress through the childcare program. The layout of the building allows me a glimpse into the other early childhood classrooms, and I am constantly amazed by the variety of activities and teaching methods that I see on a daily basis. I also love that the program is part of 2nd Nature Academy. While we certainly don't want to rush our daughter's early childhood experience, we look forward to her continued education for many years to come.

I was a nervous new mother so I thought I was being critical of the lack of warmth from caregivers and staff. Aside from Carol who greets you upon entry there was no comfort in leaving your child there. I questioned myself thinking I was protective and went along with it. Over time it didn't change. I came one day to pick my child up early to find a substitute teaching acting extremely inappropriate with the children scolding them In a way that felt like she was losing control. Other staff members appeared embarrassed when I witnessed it. When speaking with the director I was reassured she wouldn't work with the younger kids anymore because " it overwhelmed her " I quickly learn from that point on it wasn't the right place for my child. I think they paint a pretty picture of what they offer but within the walls of the preschool is quite different. Their expectations are extremely high for toddlers and pre k and sadly lack the nurturing piece. I found the staff to be young with a lot of turnover. I found the director Jillian to be young, naive and lacking real life experience to be in her role. Be careful of the pretty picture it presents. I am so sad that I didn't go with my gut on day one... a new mother novice decision. Luckily my child has no memory and I have found a place that is nurturing with experienced staff.
