We had our son's Rehearsal Dinner and Meet and Greet at The Glass Box. Though our son and his bride…read morelive in Raleigh, this was a long distance event for us. Planning couldn't have been easier- our coordinator was very easy to reach and always quick with an answer with any questions we had. The venue is charming and the roof top view is stunning. We chose to have a "Before They Say I Do BBQ" and the deck provided a nice space to set up stations for our caterer. The list of vendors provided by Empire Eats made providing linens and any items needed easy to set up. The only suggestions we would offer is know in advance that this is the top floor of The Stockroom. If there are 2 events scheduled, you'll be sharing the only elevator with the other venue. Loading and unloading prior and after the event can be a bit tricky. There is no designated area loading zone. Be sure to ask in advance for a cart and it will be provided. Also, if you're having a summer event, know that it can be very hot. When the door to the deck is open, it compromises the A/C and it can be a tad bit warm.

The Royal Banquet - The spooky bookcase cabinet.

So I went to a pop up event called the Haunted Tavern that was at this location. The Royal Banquet…read moreis an event space that has rooms that can be rented out. I had seen an ad on FB for an event sponsored by Fever. It was a Halloweenish event so it looked liked something different to do to kick off Oct. Tickets have to be bought a head of time for a specific date & time. Chairs are set up in a dimly lit room with a bookshelf cabinet as the main focal point which was on the opposite end of the chairs. The bookshelf had spooky looking objects on it. Through out the hour & 1/2 of the show, you are given 4 different cocktails while one at a time a group of 5 adults take turns telling a ghost story as the others serve the coctails. Unfortunately The drinks were a bit watered down and didn't seem like they actually had alcohol in them. The drinks seemed random which I think it would make more sense if they matched the stories somehow or at least were in the actual story. The storytellers were dressed to match the spooky mood and some did better than others. I thought they were going to be Raleigh ghost stories and maybe they were but there wasn't enough local knowledge in the stories. Not sure if the event was worth the cost but it was something different. After the show the adults told the audience that their group of 5 does it all:sets the stage, does the lighting, the music, decorates, makes the drinks, serves them & provides the entertainment. After I heard this I have to admit I definitely felt ok paying the cost for the event. If you like local theater, this is a great idea for something different to do on a weekend night.

For those who wants to go or to do henna party or wedding it's not the best option for you cuz they will anyways gonna take the deposit even if they find a piece of cake on the ground or they or anything they say we will take it to Chang the carpet . They will take your deposit even if you leave before 12 am. I'm telling you if you would ever do any event make sure to take pictures of the things that's seems to be broken before or not working cuz they will say it's you who did it , they will take the deposit for something that you didn't do. The extra secret, private room is located upstairs in The Big Easy, down a back hallway through an ominous door labeled "staff only". This isn't a space that you can just walk into (now that you know where it's located), rather it's a private venue space, charging $300/6 hours on Fridays and Saturdays with a $500 minimum bar tab and $100/6 hours Sunday-Thursday with a $300 minimum bar tab. The small space includes a New Orleans voodoo theme complete with voodoo dolls and bare breasted fortune tellers (in photos). Your party is invited to enjoy the velvet couches and hairs artfully placed around the room and has access to a private bar (and bartender). I love the back wall, with photo windows viewing Salisbury Street and a huge wooden bench seat. Rebecca and her husband Steve, the owners of The Big Easy, created this space to throw a rocking New Years Eve party, and they're inviting locals to use it during the year. Rebecca hired a fortune teller for our VIP night, but options are practically unlimited for what you want to bring in (bachelorette party strippers?!) The room is pricy to rent, but the intention is to get in a "classier" group of people that will keep the space up (however, there's definitely room for a dance party in the room, think old Bee Hive tightness). The best part: that VIP feeling as you are personally led up to the room by a manager, it was VERY speakeasy and secretive!

They do have some specific rules for use of the Campbell Lodge, so make sure those are okay for your event before renting. We were able to have a beautiful event without any issues with the venue! For the Campbell Lodge, make sure guests navigate to the correct address at 3237 Spottswood Street. The lodge is not accessible from the Durant Nature Preserve main entrance. There is plenty of space in the Lodge, provided tables and chairs, and a large warming kitchen, ice machine, and walk-in cooler. The check out process went smoothly! We will definitely consider renting the Campbell Lodge again for future events!

Inside there are two fire places, a huge ball room area and a catering kitchen. There are also some small rooms which are great for getting ready in!! The whole place is also accessible for those in wheel chairs and has a separate mens and women's restrooms which is nice when you have a big crowd. Will post an update once the big day comes and more pictures on their way soon!
