The morning breakfast wrap with eggs, avocado, cheese, tomato and bacon are fantastic (hold the bacon for me though). Did I mention they are huge by australian standards? I recently had the avocado bruschetta and it was great. Bruschetta can be hit or miss but this one was really good and again, quite big. My husband is there at least a few times a week and the friendly staff all know him well. Right before Christmas they walked out and gave him a bag full of cakes and muffins with a sweet note saying thanks and happy holidays to their loyal customers. The decor is quirky, I like the eclectic mix of funky furniture and art- but it is a bit of a mishmash and I'd like to give it a bit of a re-vamp. I need to get back there more often and try more of the food but with this 9 to 5 job of mine it's not always easy to find the time. My only complaint? As much as its busy on the inside so is its patronage I have yet to pass this cafe without seeing the inside full to the brim as well as the few tables outside. I like the bircher muesli here but its not what it should be - super crunchy. I love the almonds, berries and apple within the cereal. the coffee is very good too. The signage always makes me giggle like they put one of their children and let them run riot with markers. Although its central view is the busiest roundabout in Sydney its a perfect place to stop for a breather or start your day.

They had a steady stream of customers, but by no accounts were so busy that the 3 people behind the counter could not get a take away coffee done in 20 min. Dine in is no better. 15 min for someone to clear a table (on a quiet day), a further 20 min for a menu, a further 15 min for someone to come back to take an order, a further 15 min for a Soda bottle to be brought to the table all while the wait staff ignore you and chat to each other.. and honestly, look miserable. Train Stop Café use Toby's Arabica coffee and a sickly sweet chocolate for mochas. It's a good place to sit on the grass outside sipping your coffee waiting for your train but that's about it.

The barista looks very cosy in the back corner making coffee. Paul Bassett Espresso (World Barista of the year 2003) coffee beans are used to make the hot brew. They serve breakfast (try the Italian baked eggs with tomato, leg ham and shallots for $12.50), lunch (Bruschetta with roasted pumpkin, goats feta and rocket for $12.00 tickle your fancy?) and a few delicious sweet treats. So if you come here I would order the tea (specifically the Chi) over the coffee. The food here is nice, but nothing amazing. Again, I know that most people will disagree with me. I ordered the salad, maybe it was the wrong thing to order. Saying that milkshakes were impressive. To summarise - this place is nice, but I don't think it is overwhelmingly great. We all decided on the half portion sizes. The food came out within ten minutes and we were all pretty hungry by then. I cut into my mushroom and noticed that where there was supposed to be egg was cheese. I realized that they gave me the mushroom bruschetta instead so I told the waitress. She apologized and took it back. My friends had already started eating so I just had to wait another 6-7 minutes before getting the right order. When it came out my friends were also done but the egg was nicely poached and the hollandaise was creamy and delicious. The field mushrooms were nice and flavorful and the multigrain bread was also very tasty. Overall a very good, healthy and filling meal. Can't imagine how full we'd be if we had gotten the full portions! Definitely will come back. Good service, good food.
