I'll be honest, at first I didn't think I'd be hiring Magic Moment for our party. Armond is so…read moreresponsive that I assumed he was trying to be aggressively salesy instead of simply helpful. What changed my tune? Primarily, the booking process. I talked to another vendor whose prices were cheaper and had good Groupon reviews, but there were red flags when I asked for a contract, etc. When I posed the same questions to Armond, he was again responsive and provided all of the information I asked for without trying to convince me to simply trust them. Once I booked, the responsiveness never faltered. Most times, I got emails back within a few hours, regardless of the day or time sent. In addition to Armond, Nathaniel helped me out with the design of the photo strips. When I didn't quite see what I wanted, he was able to model a design after an image I sent him at no extra charge. On the day of our event, John showed up promptly to setup. He was easy to work with and answered any questions we had. Everyone really enjoyed the photo booth and we got some really fun images out of it. At the end of our event, we got a physical copy of the strips and a few days later a link to a gallery that we could share with guests. Bottom line, I would hire Magic Moment again for a party. They were extremely professional and we were happy with the overall experience.

We see that and we are sorry," I might have softened or retracted parts of my review, and responded in kind. But they made a different choice. So we double down, too: Do Not Hire Big Hugs. We will let our contacts in Chicagoland know our experience, and we strongly recommend our lovely Naperville venue's clients look elsewhere for a photo booth vendor. One Star. original review: We were so surprised and aghast that this highly-recommended photo vendor failed so epically: 1) subjects were cut out of photos 2) backdrop was broken and we had to fix it Big Hugs was hired for a large Celebration of Life event bringing together relatives and friends from across the country. To memorialize the day, we provided this service so loved ones could take group and family photos. Only after the event, paging through the photo book, did we see that on the majority of prints, subjects were not even within the frame of the photos! We had approval in advance from Big Hugs to provide our own rented couch to set in front of the backdrop, and asked repeatedly if the couch would appear too low in the frame, or if those standing behind would appear too high. Big Hugs' on-site attendant assured us he would make sure and this would be no problem. Yet in about 35% of photos, taller guests' heads were partially cut off, and guests on the couch appeared only from the neck up. Some were out of frame on the sides of photos. The rest of the photos looked ridiculous because the people on the couch were way down in the lower third of the photo. So, why is an attendant present if it's not to ensure good photographs!? From a once-in-a-lifetime event, our guests took home ridiculous, unprofessional photos as their remembrance. This is not what we intended when hiring a professional photo booth vendor at a premium price. Prior to the event, as the attendant set up, we noticed the backdrop was hanging crooked. Two event planners and myself asked if he would fix this before guests arrived. He replied, "I can't. That's how it is." Our venue manager said to the attendant, "This looks terrible and is unacceptable." He did nothing. So she stepped in herself and created a fix for the broken backdrop provided by Big Hugs. Subsequently, our event planner reached out and explained the situation to Big Hugs, who pushed back saying the attendant reported everything was fine. Then offered a 20% discount. Our planner detailed again the numerous points of failure, and then Big Hugs offered 50% off the remaining balance. That Big Hugs charged us *anything at all* after their epic fail should be an embarrassment to them. Highly do not recommend Big Hugs to anyone seeking professional photo booth for an event they care about.

I got so many compliments from all of my friends who attended too. The props were so much fun! From Hamburger hats to Crowns to big silly sunglasses. The guests were so stoked to take home prints with them (with no charge to them) and they loved learning that all of the photos were going to be uploaded online later that week. (I was asked if I wanted them public or password protected too- I chose public- why not!) The cool thing about them too is their versatility. To be honest, the photographer was the only vendor I was picky about and as soon as I saw their wedding photography, I knew immediately that they had to be ours. I love the lighting and style of their work. They are incredibly talented and have an eye for what makes a good photo. I loved how their documentary style gave us a full story of that day. If that wasn't enough, Mark and Magda are incredibly kind and will put their whole heart into your day. They were present and attentive the whole time. When the events of the day were underway I didn't even notice them buzzing around snapping photos. They were also responsive before and after the wedding and worked well with our wedding planner when it came to scheduling, etc. We received the photos within a couple weeks of the wedding. They also helped us select photos for a leather-bound book (honestly, they did most of the selecting/formatting themselves which was wonderful - I'm a hands-off kind of bride). I've told Mark and Magda I want them to be our family photographer forever! I'm just so in love with their work and I don't want our wedding to be the last time we work with them. At our initial meeting, he really took the time to understand what I was looking for in a photographer and what was important to me when photographing our wedding day. After we signed the contract with him, Mark was great about keeping in touch over the months leading up to the wedding to get all the specifics of the day and to check in to see if I had any questions. He always made himself available via email or phone if I needed advice for how to best set up our schedule for the day or even if I had silly freak out questions about worst-case weather scenarios (which he always put me at ease about). I really appreciated that Mark & Madga took a day ahead of time to scope out our church and reception venue. I told him it was very important that we incorporate the outdoors as much as we could, and he made sure to find some great potential locations for photos. On the day of, Mark and Magda were able to coordinate perfectly to ensure that both my husband and I would have pictures of us getting ready with our bridal parties. They are both so personable and fun that they quickly put me at ease and really blended into the background to get all of these amazing candid shots throughout the morning. The ceremony went flawlessly and they coordinated group family shots with ease. I think that my favorite thing about working with Mark and Magda was how enthusiastic they were about taking amazing photographs. They went out of their way to convince an owner of a private barn to let us take pictures on his property and I couldn't help but really get into the photo session as Mark was so excited about the location and the light filtering into the barn. The photos from our cocktail hour were such a pleasant surprise to look at after the wedding as I barely even noticed them mingling in the groups to snag some amazing candid photos of all our friends and family. Mark was able to coordinate the timing perfectly at our reception to sneak us outside right after dinner to get these amazing golden hour pictures on the beach.
