We spent a huge amount of time and effort, researching different cabinetry companies in order to find the right match for us. It became clear as we researched that there is a big dividing line within the cabinetry industry. Most typically there are guys who have table saws, and tape measures and they proceed to chop up wood and nail it together. However, a more recent development in the cabinetry business is what we were looking for. The most advanced companies come out, take measurements of the room and then design the cabinetry on a three dimensional computer system. This provides a way of essentially seeing what you're going to create before you even make one bit of sawdust. Once an optimized design is finalized, the wood parts are cut up and drilled by computer controlled machines, that very precisely control the dimensions of the wood parts to within only a few thousands of an inch. At that point the wood panels are simply put together with very little effort and essentially no corrective measures being needed. The result is a cabinet assembly that comes out essentially perfect. All drawers are precisely in line, everything fits pretty much perfectly. And this is how Haynes cabinetry operates. Along with Haynes, using the most advanced methods of creating cabinetry, throughout our project, they continually displayed a most proactive approach to dealing with us. At no point during the project, did we ever have to ask to have something done a second time. Everything we asked was taken care of, and taken care of with a smile. It was as if we were having friends that we've known for years come over and perform this work, they were amazing! Looking back at our home remodel, it is clear that Haynes cabinetry led the pack with regards to comparing them with the other contractors that we had involved in our project. We cannot recommend Haynes too much.

We had just gone through the painstaking process of throwing away new cabinets made by another company, as they were not to code and didn't fit our space. Finally that saga had ended, and our dreams had come true in a beautiful shade of whitewashed red oak. We did hire a layout design specialist prior to meeting Charles, but the company took our design a step further and concocted a very ingenious shape for the lazy susans to maximize storage. The drawers on our base cabinets are deep, spacious and close softly. It's amazing how much we can store now. As with all renovations there were some delays getting the ball rolling, but the final result was well worth the wait. Their fabulous builder, Alfred is incredibly helpful and has called me personally to talk through things. The installers were also top notch. Thanks again, Haynes for a job well done!

I promised that I'd come back after the pantry review to write another one for the garage work, and…read morehere it is! Our initial experience with Closet & Garage Remedy was actually when I decided we needed to get all the junk off the floor of our garages. They had become a dump zone, and I thought I just needed overhead rack storage. So I contacted a few overhead storage people, they came out, and - long story short - it turned out not to be the solution for us. I ended up researching wall-based storage systems, and CGR was the first company to schedule a visit. Jeff came out to measure up and show us options. As we talked it through, we saw that we had other needs that could be addressed: putting the freezer somewhere sensible, getting rid of the mish mash of plastic shelves, cabinets, and shoe racks we'd amassed over the years, and getting even more shelving so we could move seasonal decoration to the garage too. We then noticed that CGR does epoxy flooring, something we have been curious about for decades. So we decided Why The Heck Not - and we went for the whole package: epoxy flooring, shelving, and built in cabinets with a workspace. For the first time in 8 houses, we'd have a Grown Up Garage! Top tip for my fellow Yelpers though: plan for more shoe storage than you think. Thank me later! Jeff sketched out the design then and there, and gave us excellent pricing with absolutely no pressure, which was awesome. In short order, Sylvia called us to schedule the work and the installation began: first the epoxy flooring, then the slatwall, cabinets, and shelving. The installation team were super efficient and kept everything clean as they worked and when they finished each day. If there were any issues that we found, they either fixed it the same day or returned to address it without any questions. We were so pleased with the result that we decided to do a second round to add more slatwall and shelving - because there is never too much space for organizing! We have now used up almost all of the shelving and we're still noodling through all the possibilities with the slatwall, but already we feel so much relief and zen from having a neat garage. Not only can we find everything we need without an archaeological expedition, we were able to move a ton of lesser-used items out of our master closet so we could more aesthetically organize that too. So don't think the benefits of garage storage only improve the garage! If you would like to experience the same kind of relief and zen in your garage, I can't recommend CGR enough. You may, like me, also find yourself tempted to extend the zen beyond your garage, like I did with the pantry (my previous review). No matter what you choose, you won't regret it!
