My stylist showed me how to use the specific products she recommended and also showed me new tricks on how to style my hair- I loved it because I can do this at home...well, sort of LOL! I went in there to ask for a trim, basically cut my split ends and I left with the girl giving me the shortest bangs in history I. Yes, I am upset, because it's completely the oposite of what i went in there for. I gave her specifics of what i wanted. I paid went to my car and literally cried this place is nonsense. I even told her before he am looking for a cut and someone that has experience because some people here in El Paso just will lie to you just so they can mess with your hair. So I made an appointment explaining that my hair was dark and needed it completely lightened as well as root touchups. Is that something that they specialize in? I was informed that yes we do. When I arrived, the Hairdresser was not there yet and two other people consulted me. I explained what I was gonna do and one of them told me that what I wanted it was going to take a very long time, I said that's fine. He proceeded to say that well we don't have time to do that today and I expressed OK then I'll just have my haircut done and he replied well we don't have time for that either. Overall was treated very poorly . Ended up going to foliage where I was treated much nicer and came home with a beautiful haircut and highlights. read more

It has taken me months to write this review, but at least now I can laugh at the way I was treated at this salon. I came in for a consultation to see if I could lighten my hair before a special event. I remember being on time and waiting 15 minutes for the visit (which was fine... in no rush). After waiting, I was finally approached by who I believe is Eddie (never was told his name). We chatted and I enthusiastically showed him the pictures of what I was hoping for, which were actually pictures of myself from a previous balayage session a few years ago. He told me what I was wishing for was impossible, especially in one session (although my prior balayage only took one session?). He also mentioned that I looked much better in the picture I showed him - which I'll admit stung at the time. I ended up walking away from the consultation feeling a bit hurt, disappointed, and just generally appalled at how humans can be so apathetic sometimes - especially at a place where I was hoping for a new, refreshing look! After reading other reviews, I am sad to hear that I am not the only one who has experienced this. I hope we can all empower each other one day instead of the alternative. read more

She's using a shampoo they recommended which is okay at best, just got her original shampoo again which is better. Downfall here was price and the time was longer than anticipated. You have to make an appointment online. After making the appointment request, I received an automated email stating they will get back to me "shortly". It was toward the end of the day, so I figured I would hear something the next morning. I didn't hear anything by noon of the following day, so I called. Then, the lady said she would help me but it will be a "few minutes". So I waited. However, after 20 minutes on hold, I hung up so I could go back to work. Near the end of the day (nearly 24 hours after trying to make the appointment online), they finally called only to tell me they were booked up. Perhaps if they didn't wait until the end of the day, they wouldn't have been booked up. Or if they were booked up, they could let me know sooner so I could find someone else with enough time. I'm sure they're busy. The rest of us are busy, too. I have time for haircuts only on Saturday. So, I'll have to wait another week. It was rude that they left me waiting 20 minutes on the phone ( and probably would have been longer if I didn't hung up), and annoying it took nearly 24 hours for them to tell me they were booked up. read more

I had a great experience here. I got a haircut with Sam and she was wonderful! She listened to what I wanted, offered her advice and I left with the best haircut I've gotten in years. The salon is modern and sleek, yet inviting and comfortable. After I paid, I realized I forgot to put a tip on the slip and just signed. I called to see if I could pay a tip over the phone and was informed that their salon does not accept tips, which I've never heard of before but it saved me money, although I felt bad for my stylist. The haircut was not too pricey considering the experience and professionalism of the stylist.I also bought a set of 3 Kerastase products at a great discount, so another plus! read more

If I could put one star a would, I've been asking Eddie if I could put highlights in my hair and he said yes when my roots got long enough, so I went back to see him and told him that ive done nothing to my hair except put a purple mask on it, my hair is blonde, and some one else did it and overprocessed it, I asked him if he could put purple streaks in it he says no my hair is beyond help? And he kept insisting that my roots was color i put in??? I said no its my hair??? I already told u I didn't do anything to my hair??? So basically he's calling me a liar??? I hope the stylists make very good money there- I'm a little squeamish about going to a salon where the stylists can't accept tips, just a "good review" that will benefit the owner of the salon only. Still, the reviews are good, and the website is great. Well, I called to try to get an appointment. On a Friday late morning, I got an answering machine. Halfway through the message someone said "Hello?" I had to ascertain that I had actually reached The Colour Bar. Making an appointment was excruciating. Saying I wanted a cut color and some highlights apparently wasn't enough. I was put on hold and asked what color highlights I wanted. We made an appointment after what was a pretty awkward conversation and then, ten minutes later, the salon called to reschedule the appointment. Uh, no. Apparently it was the owner who talked to me on the phone. Dude, let your stylists accept tips and hire a receptionist. You just lost a cut, color, and highlight every 6 weeks. read more

First of all, i only give great reviews of things I like. This negative review is a first for me but I had to do it because they really direspected me and my time. This is the worst salon to go to in town. I move a lot and one of my first few agendas whenever I move is to find a good salon and when I google searched for best salon in el paso they were the first one to pop up so I decided to give it a try. Whoever is doing their SEO is obviousy doing a great job, but "best salon"? I dont think so. I went here 3 times (i really wanted it to work). Overall, the work done is okay. But each time I went, the waiting time is just insane - 30mins or more. Its like you absolutely do not matter to them. One time while the hair stylist was working on me, she just left and started working on someone else. And i was just left there staring at the other person wondering what the hell was going on. Overall, their customer service really absolutely sucks. I used to be a fashion stylist and part of my job is to have partnerships with salons i trust to send my clients to. So I have been to a lot of high end "snobbish" hair salons and I haven't had worse or felt like i've been so mistreated. And quite honestly, im a really patient person. Hell, i still went twice after I felt completely disrespected twice. Today was just my tipping point after they made me wait AGAIN and actually had the gall to say i was late when I was on time. So my advice is to go here if you want to be treated like shit by people who haven't earned the right to do so. I mean they do a decent job. The hair stylists will know what they're doing. I have been coming to Color Bar 360 since 2008, when I was in high school. Eddie has truly made his business grow and flourish over the years. He really keeps up with his clients and has the memory of an elephant. He is truly a hair color genius and even made me look good through those awkward teenage years and worked with my crazy curly hair. Recently I have been going to Ruben to get my haircut. About 2 years ago he gave me the most adorable pixie cut. The past 2 times that I've gone to him, he has just butchered my hair, leaving obvious awkward angles. It seriously looked like Mackelmore was my hair inspiration. To top it off, Ruben nearly ran from the salon as soon as he finished my haircut. I'm a very quiet and shy type, so it's is not like I was gabbing and annoying him to tears. He could have at least waited for me to pay before he dashed off. Just a few weeks ago my sister (who is a licensed hairdresser herself) went to get her hair cut and colored. She told me that her hair stylist was one of the interns that Eddie was working with, but I can't recall her name. Apparently she completely forgot about my sister sitting there with color on her hair. Another stylist had to remind her to check on my sister because the stylist was too occupied chatting with her friends and doing her own hair. Can you say unprofessional? She then proceeded to cut her hair against what my sister had asked for, even when my sister explained to her what she was doing wrong and how to do it properly. She had an attitude the entire time and my shy, timid sister couldn't bring herself to rebuke her. I think my family is done with the Color Bar 360. Very, very Happy with this Hsie Salon. Great Staff, very talented people from their website to their front desk service. Isabel has been my stylist for the past three months and have very pleased. My last haircut was not to my liking, Isabel was very busy, so Ruben re styled my hair and I left very happy. Isabel was very busy, so Ruben was willing to take care of me. It's wonderful to see a group of people willing to support and help each other out when necessary and make their customers pleased with what they want their to look. Probably the best thing about this place, aside from the great work that they do, is that everyone who works there looks way cooler than me. That is exactly what I want in a salon. I want people with better ideas about how to make my hair look awesome than I could come up with. And technical expertise to execute it flawlessly. Ruben has been doing my hair for a few months now, and I'm pretty darn happy with it. Like other reviewers have said, there's no tipping. That feels rude at first, but the prices seem to be commensurate with what I have paid elsewhere including tips, and they seem to be able to retain excellent staff. So I'm not sweating it. The only thing I would change is the bathroom soap. I'd replace the existing wall dispenser with something that sat on the counter and smelled like rosemary mint or something. And hopefully the pettiness of that complaint serves to illustrate how little is wrong with the place. read more

I took my niece today to get her hair colored. They had estimated 4 hour work. They took 7 hours granted she got a haircut so add 30 minutes. They bleached her hair higher than they should have and left it coppery. I mentioned that the picture she showed them had more roots and they added a dark color to the roots before applying the blue. By this time a man was helping the girl who was doing the color. I later found out he was the owner. He helped for about 10 minutes. Then they added the color. It was blue. Half her hair was the blue she asked for the other half looked murky swamp green with a root that looked more like a grown out root rather than intentionally roots. The girl tried to tell me it was supposed to be that way. I refused and told her she needed to fix it. Two hours later they "fixed" it. Didn't look like what she had asked for but was better than what they had originally done. I told the owner that it took longer than it should and asked for the service to be discounted. He said as long as she liked it it shouldn't matter. That that color takes time. I agree that it takes time but if his worker had done it correctly the first time we wouldn't have had issues. He then asked me to tel him what was wrong. Again he had to help her during the first application because she bleached too high and then they had someone else fix it. But he didn't know what was wrong and defended it taking 7 hours. When he asked me what was wrong with the service as if he didn't know he was very arrogant. I said if he didn't know what was wrong then he could read it on my yelp review. He told me he welcomed my review as it wouldn't hurt his business. Go their at your own risk. Oh yeah and whole I was there the owner put the wrong color on a regular client and had to redo. She told me herself. So if you want bad service ho spend your money there. read more

Honestly I am very disappointed in this salon. I live in the Bay Area which has one of the highest costs of living in the US, and I could've gotten my hair done better and cheaper there. My first complaint after getting my hair cut yesterday is that my hair is CROOKED. I cut about 6.5 inches off to have a long bob and the length is noticeably uneven. I have tried calling the salon three separate times within their business hours and nobody has answered the phone. Second, I was quoted three separate prices for the same service, and ended up paying the middle price. I called to schedule the appointment for a cut ($45) and balayage ($125) about four days in advance and was quoted the prices as such. At the beginning of my appointment I signed a paper stating my color would be $195 for whatever reason. Once my hair was cut (very short) and she started applying the color, the stylist informed me she recommends a mini partial highlight service on top and the price will now be $230. I said it's not happening, as the price and service has already jumped around too much without reason, and she agreed. When I questioned the multiple price jumps, she was quick to inform me that this is the top salon in the city, she gets paid hourly and doesn't set the prices. Honestly I couldn't be bothered about the fact that i paid a little more than expected. What does bother me, however, is that i paid five dollars short of a $200 haircut and it is crooked! And the fact that I live out of town, have tried to contact the salon, and will now have to pay someone else to correct their mistake. Save your time and money and go to a salon that honors their pricing and stands by their work. I highly recommend Gina at Infinite Salon, Nick Reyes, or Leila Soto. I've learned my lesson to not stray from the stylists I know do a great job. Be warned EP! read more

Two stars are for the scheduler/host Jessica. She was very friendly and helpful in explaining the scheduling process. She explained that each appointment requires a separate consultation, which cannot be booked without my credit card information. "Like a hotel," she said. Jessica explained that my consultation with Ruben would take about 30 minutes. My appointment for the actual cut & color scheduled the day after. This concept seems to benefit the colorist rather than the customer. Very inefficient from my perspective. I show up early to my consultation. I am offered a beverage and greeted warmly by Jessica. am assured that I am receiving a consult from God's gift to women's hair. Cool! I wait 15 minutes past my appointment time. I notice that all of the colorists have clients. I wonder if Ruben is there. Then he pops out from between the booths (with his current client sitting in her chair on the other side). Hi I'm Ruben! The entire conversation spanned 8 - yes that's right 8 minutes. He did not walk me through the infamous "the process". He didn't even touch my hair. I brought a picture, which he repeatedly (6 times to be exact) that I would have to cut my hair super short to "look like the picture" and that "would be on me." He didn't allow me an opportunity to say what I liked about the picture. Cut me off every time I started to speak as if he was in a rush to get back to his other client. This salon wasted my time with the stupid consultation. 8 whole minutes of "yeah, yeah yeah" could have been accomplished RIGHT BEFORE my actual appointment. Thankfully it did not. I am grateful for the consultation for one and only one reason: I had the opportunity to realize that this was not the salon for me. I am worried about the safety of my credit card information. But I guess those issues are "on me." Not coming back! read more

I have been to the 360 Colour Bar 2 times, I gave this salon a chance based on the glowing reviews I found online. Later I discovered, they do not accept tips, they request that you simply write them a good review. Interesting approach, but it does make me question how valid the reviews are... The first time I had my hair colored. The hair stylist did a pretty good job, my hair was highlighted before and she ran a darker red-blond through my whole head. The second time is when I was quite disappointed with my hair cut. She put half of my hair up, did the cut on the second half, styled the second half, while the first half was still wet. I asked for her to trim my already cut asymmetrical straight bob. I also requested that she gave me less volume, since I have tons of super thick hair. When she put down the second portion of my hair, she proceeded to give me layers everywhere. Words cannot describe how disappointed I was with the end result. It is a pretty basic knowledge amongst hair stylists that layers only add volume. Some layers were super short, so when I straighten it they stick out.... I did not want layers! It's going to be a long while until I can fix it. If your going just for a color, I recommend this place, but get your hair cut somewhere else! read more

This place is FABULOUS. Im from LA and just moved here recently. Reminds me of all the salons I used to get my hair done at back home. And for El Paso (Which seems to be the most over priced place in the universe to get your hair and nails done) its really reasonable.
