Although, the renters kept the front of the property mowed and edged, they never mowed edged or trimmed anything in the backyard for over 3 years! It was horrible. The grass and weeds were over 3 feet tall. The poured concrete flower beds edging was buried under half a foot of over grown sod and the bushes were wild and unkempt. It was a mess. I was really upset at the amount work and time needed to just put the yard in order At least 50 hours of work would be needed just just to mow, weed and edge. I was overwhelmed. I told my sad story to someone who recommended I call Wendell at Lake City Lawn Maintenance. I gave them call expecting them to either overcharge me or only doing the work if I signed a weekly contract . Wendell came out. He too was surprised by the amount of overgrowth on my 1/4 acre suburban lot. He asked if he could take pictures to price it properly and said he would give me a quote in a few hours. I approved his estimate and he scheduled me for Saturday Wendell and his crew arrived promptly at 7:30 am and immediately started to work They worked long and hard without even wanting to stop for a break. At around 3:30 pm it started to rain. Thus, the crew had to come back Sunday morning. Again they worked about 7 hours straight thru with no break. Both days they filled up their truck w my excessive amount of yard waste At the end of the second day they finally finished. My yard looked beautiful. I was surprised to find hidden under vines in the tall grass a full sized relatively new fire pit left by the renters! I guess they didn't see the fire pit hidden in the weedy meadow that was my backyard I thanked Wendell and his team. I commented that I now could play in garden again and planned to lower the height of of one of my hedges. Then, when I thought Wendell went to his truck to write out the bill, I found that he went out and shaped the hedges I was planning to do. I expected to be charged for the additional hedges but was pleasantly surprised. No up charge! He just was being a nice guy.
