When we dropped her off she was spotless, other than she was shedding. Her teeth came out good, but nail trimming wasn't. She still has her dew claws, and one they cut way too short. She bleed and they didn't even clean up the area. I don't recommend anyone to take their animals there. Sadly, I was warned from a friend about this place, but I already made the appointment. Speck's is an Indiana based chain of pet supply stores that focuses on taking care of your existing pets. Some places offer pet bathing stations and veterinary services too! I didn't check out all the features of this one. I was mainly interested in getting some healthy treats for my small dog since I had just ran out earlier that morning. I was greeted by both the staff working that afternoon and they directed me to the aisles that contained the treats. They carried a wide selection of treats, mostly natural/healthier than I find at the big box stores. Like the rest of the Speck's I've been to, they mainly focus on the more common pets: dogs and cats. They have islands of bulk pet food available. I was pleased to see that they carry a lot of remedies for health problems here. I really like using the pill pockets for when I am required to administer pills from my local vet. Teresa's did an excellent job the first time and I have taken him to them ever since! He always comes back nice and blended and quite a happy pup! I took my little Cockapoo a couple of weeks ago for grooming and when I picked him up he had been…read moresheared completely, and he looked like a hound dog. When I expressed concerned the groomer said that they had to do that because we was so matted. Okay, I accepted that, and set up an appointment to have him bathed and my Golden Doodle groomed. When I got there, I told them, "I don't want my Golden Doodle to look like a hound dog". They looked at her, and said they would have to shear her because she was so'matted'. Ah, that word again. I lived in Hilton Head Island for 7 years, and the groomer there never had to shear her even when she was a little matted. Never! So I said to just bathe both of the dogs and forget the grooming. I was told that they would be done in 2 to 2 1/2 hours, and they would call me when they were done. Finally, even though they had not called by noon, I left for Greensburg, having forgotten that they closed for lunch. However when I went in at 1:00P.M. I was told that it would be another 30 minutes before the Golden Doodle was done. When I mentioned them saying 2 1/2 hours, the receptionist said "we do have other dogs" Once I paid, I cancelled the next appointment that I had set up ahead of time. I read that many people are happy with Pampered Paws ; I wasn't, having been to a really great groomer for 7years in Hilton Head.
