Maybe not surprising in a state like Maine where ways to make a living especially the further north you go are scarce other than fishing and the tourist industry. We stopped in to see what it was like. Upon entering, we were greeted warmly. Everyone is asked to show ID, no exceptions. The space is huge and was very open, airy, and nicely appointed with tall ceilings. One is led into second larger room which on the day of our visit was staffed by two young women. They seemed to be knowledgeable about the range of their products which included buds of marijuana of all kinds to "gummy" edibles of cannabis in varying strengths. They were able to answer questions about "medicinal" uses for their products. I can't speak to the price points and whether they are reasonable or not but a tin of edibles contains 10 pieces (come in variety of flavors!) each containing 5 milligrams of THC each. Those tins cost $19.00 a piece. According to the women in the shop, they have many customers who come in looking for physical pain relief, relief from anxiety symptoms and sleep problems. I am personally not a user of marijuana but having grown up during an era which not only totally banned its use but jailed people for having even modest of amounts, I am pleased to see its decriminalization. I think we still have much to learn about potential benefits from this plant.
