I went to this store because of their cute children's display in the window. I got my nieces a cute fuzzy octopus and lobster. The kids loved the gifts. The service was friendly and the people inside were very helpful and kind. Check out was easy to find. It's a great place to stop in if you are in the area for your home or souvenirs when visiting.

Five of us went here and my mission: find a tea towel that can be used (and not just looked at) for my new vanity bathroom. The price tag was steep: $38... there was no way i was paying that kind of money. This is important. Why? Because of what happened next...the owner was kind enough to walk me through the walkway (tons of great items) to the downstairs (more?) where I was shown some other tea towels. Didn't find what I was looking for though. So what did i purchase? $1700 worth of John Robshaw bedding. Yes. I turned around and saw THE MOST beautiful bedding ever. I just said "that's it. That is my spare bedroom". I ordered every piece except for a small pillow. Service is amazing. They had some free cookies at the front and although someone was guarding over it, i took four of them. I was hungry! This is a fantastic shop, full of something for everyone. I'll be back next year and maybe then I'll buy a tea towel.

Even if you couldn't fulfill that need, you can at least fill your gas tank and hike off the island where you'll likely find that "need." Chances are, you'll find it a Burnt Cove Market. I found a couple of sandwiches and Whoopi Pies, beverages, cheap bundle of fire wood, a few pharmaceutical items, and bottle of local Blueberry wine! Now that's a one Stop Market! Only a 20 mile drive versus 50 miles off the island.

Both customer service reps were most personable and pleasant with their communications. My wreath arrived quickly and was wrapped extremely well, (to avoid any damage and to hold in the moisture during shipping). I have been purchasing my wreaths from a local nursery each year, and pay more for equal quality and size. Shipping timeframe: ideal from Whitley Wreath. Am recommending to friends, and using them for all future purchases.

The young lady who was working there was very helpful in getting me into something that not only fit well but was reasonably close to what my budget was. If there's one place I can do some serious gift shopping for my family, it's in Bar Harbor. But not…read moreso fast- because around all the main attractions spots, I mainly found touristy souvenir shops with key chains. YAWN! Every time I'm vacationing, I'm always on the look-out for interesting shops that sell items worth my money to give away. My Darling Maine Island Boutique is another great Bar Harbor Gift Shop on Cottage Rd where you can pick up really interesting keepsakes. No- you're not going to find the mundane souvenirs here. What you'll find are gifts with a purpose, many with a twist and a message from local artists. Victoria and I caught up via email and phone to solidify my appointment. She was super accommodating to our schedules and opened her shop earlier than expected. Thank you so very much! Her shop has a little of everything including casual and funky clothes and other well-priced pieces that I snapped up for myself! She was beyond friendly and we practically talked for almost an hour. Love your energy girl! No doubt, you'll find one-of-a-kind "souvenirs" here.

I searched through dozens of Bar Harbor shops looking for a pair of touchstone earrings to remind me of the peace and joy I felt in Acadia this summer. Finally, I found delicate, handmade silver earrings shaped like blueberry leaves in My Darling Maine. Perfect! I wore them to work my first day back - and lost one. I was heartbroken. But I contacted Victoria to buy a replacement, and she took the time to send me individual pictures of every pair of blueberry leaf earrings she had in the shop (because they're all unique!) so I could choose. And then she mailed them to me in Virginia. Now my beautiful blueberry leaf earrings are a sweet reminder of our family vacation in Maine AND of the power kindness can have over loss.
