The couple who run the place are lovely, at least I assume they're a couple... and that they're the ones who run the place... The food didn't take all the long to arrive and the croissant I ordered was cooked beautifully. A little crispy around the edges but not black, and the cheese was melted on top rather nicely. My partner had a baguette with was beautiful and fresh, as were the ingredients that were used inside it. Upon leaving we were asked how everything was. There were definitely no complaints. The shop is also situated where the sun isn't going to cause any problems. I mention this because if you've been to the Subway at Gepps Cross Homemaker Centre you'll know what I mean. On a hot day having that sun stream through the window can make for uncomfortable dining. Thankfully that's a non issue here.

The actual cake and food quality looks OK, nothing extravagant, but nevertheless reasonable. What disappointed me the most about this lovely little cafe was the tasteless and extremely hot coffee that was served. The actual coffee was brewed way too fast; most likely rushed, I generally tasted the burnt coffee beans which also left an unpleasant aftertaste in my mouth.

This is very much cafe service, order at the bar & DO NOT forget your table number or you will get frowned upon. You have been warned. You will need to wait for and carry your own drinks to the table too. The food is regular Italian cafe style - bruchettas, pastas, pizzas, salads. All good but nothing amazing. Same goes for the coffee. Pizzas are probably the highlight. This is a great place to go on a sunny day because you can sit lakeside and soak up the sun and people watch.
