So why am I reviewing a bus route... because I can AND because this one deserves praise. There's only been a few occasions in the last 7 months that I've NEEDED to take the bus but each time I've walked to Kipling this bus is like a good neighbour, a good friend, nay like Statefarm insurance - it's there! Even in weekends with reduced service it seems like 10 minutes is the longest I've ever had to wait. For those looking to access the lesser known beaches of south etobicoke from the city center a quick ride across the bloor line to the Kipling station and jumping on this bus will have you at the Humber campus where they begin, in no time. I also feel a lot safer knowing that my fiancée, a regular TTC rider, never needs to wait for her bus when she leaves early in the morning for work. I've clocked it and the express buss actually gets me to Kipling station faster than when I drive. All other bus routes take note. Oh and also.... no crazies in this route phew!

It has been on time each time I've ridden (admittedly not very often, but still). The buses on this route don't bunch up, and the drivers are always pleasant. #29 Dufferin Bus, take note. The story of the 45 vs. the 29 is like the story of the two brothers in a large family: one is the golden boy while the other is the crazy fool, up to no good. Well done 45! Get yo shit together 29. I know this is a review of the 45, but I don't let go of any opportunity to berate the 29.#firstworldproblems

Like most other people that ride this bus, I take transit because I have to. When you don't have a…read morecar and need to get out to the other side of Mississauga in less than 2 hours and not have to take 5 busses, route 82 is the way to go. This route goes from Islington station in Etobicoke, all the way to Meadowvale Town Centre on the NW side of Mississauga. The bus is mostly on time + or - 5 mins, but this is what's expected of a bus. Now for the fun bits: When it rains outside it drips on people inside the bus (and the odd computer...) When you wait at a stop and there's another bus picking up people, some of the awesome drivers who are in a rush to get nowhere, pass the stopped bus and don't pickup the people waiting for the 82. This route is notorious for new drivers. You know the driver is new because he hasn't quite figured out the right kind of pressure on the gas and brakes. I'm not sure how they driver their cars but if I'm sitting I shouldn't be catapulted out of my seat every time they make a turn or step on the brake. This is an express bus, meaning it only runs for a few hours during rushour. So it baffles me why a) the bus is only once every half hour, and b) why they ALWAYS have the busses with the least amount of space (i.e. the ones with the "no sitting" areas above the wheel wells). In 5 years, I've only seen them use accordion busses a handful of times. Having half the passengers stand for the hour long trek while holding on for their lives as the driver breaks-accelerates-breaks in rush hour traffic is nuts... No wonder so many people drive to work!

If it were obvious the drivers and dispatchers were doing their best, I would cut them some slack but they are lazy, slow to move your freight and unaccountable. They turn a 2-day delivery into a 4-day gig because your stuff never goes out the evening of the day they pick up - unlike the bigger (more organized carriers) - so you lose a transport day to begin with. Don't even bother entering the day you require the delivery to destination as they never read that part and they feel no responsibility to execute. They take your freight gig and just do it on their terms. When you call TO, they can rarely help you because they have poor intell from the regional dispatcher. Forget ever speaking to a dispatcher to pin down a delivery day or time frame, as the dispatcher (Vancouver) will blow you off and will never call you back if TO leaves them your call back number. Further, their tracking portal is total crap. It never updates in a timely and useful manner so it basically leaves you in the dark - which is why you have to call TO and wait on HOLD. I suggest you spend more on the freight cost and use the organized carriers we're already familiar with and save yourself the grief. Forklift drivers being rough with your skidded products, damage which is always avoidable ....I'm doing you a favor by typing up this review. Remember, the first time these dopes muff your shipment, it's their fault. Go with them again and it's your fault for giving them another chance to strain relationships with your customer.

Fair warning- do not use this carrier. We have been in business for decades and our vendor chose…read moreCSA transport for a shipment from Canada. They will state that you are expected delivery on a certain date but never live up to it. The most recent example was our shipment being 10 days later than the expected date of delivery. When we call to expedite, they said there is nothing they could do about it because they are queued up with deliveries. The local dispatch does not care whatsoever about your order being late. Trust me, we work with all the carriers in North America but this might be the absolute worst carrier.
