Our guide Jeremiah was great! We had a blast going through tons of water. The glacier was beautiful and even the lunch was good! He took our groups feed back to heart and made sure to take us through more water and less of the trenches. He was flexible with a person who didn't seem at all comfortable on the atvs and let her ride the side by side. He handled her stress really well and kept the group moving. This was a wonderful excursion which i would recommend to anyone! we went all the way to the glacier and spent sometime wandering around. They took care of everything and we had extra time to run some fun lines in and around the sand dunes. If you are having trouble choosing between tour companies, here's your sign. This is not your plain old cookie cutter experience, it's so much more. From my initial phone call to the very end of the tour was amazing customer service. Cedar, Rich, and Brian were accommodating and very friendly. Traveling from San Diego, we didn't have much for cold/rain gear and they covered us head to toe, thank god. Breathtaking views, personal stories, some animal sightings, and, obviously, the glacier! Topped off with tasty salmon quesadillas for lunch cooked up on the spot and a little free time to rip around the sand dunes on the return trip. It is worth every penny. We plan on returning for a snowmobile tour at some point. read more

Matti and Rachel help set up getting my group from and back to Anchorage for the adventure. As my group grew in the days before they easily made room for the extras and accommodated all request. That was just getting my group to their location (less then an hour out of Anchorage), once there they were ready to get everyone suited up and on the trail for a great day. There are no words and the pictures don't do it justice of how fun the ride was with the Alaska backdrop of the Knik River valley. I can't say enough about this. I did the half day atv Knik tour and it was fantastic. Jeremiah was our guide and he was extremely knowledgeable, funny, kind, and empathetic. He answered any and all questions with a smile and can cook up a mean salmon quesadilla. You'd think this might be a leisurely stroll but they really pack in the adventure. You go through thick mud, rivers, sand dunes, ruts, valleys, the whole thing. It was incredible! Anytime you want to stop and take pictures, just ask. They're very accommodating to all needs and questions. You really won't be disappointed with this tour. Spend the money. Debate buying a quad when you get home. Do it. read more

Great tour with great people! First of all, I called the evening before since we were basically flying by the seat of our pants this trip. Talked with Cedar, who was awesome! She was just great to chat with, let alone book a tour through. So right there, we were off to a good start. Showed up and the yard was not quite what we were expecting, but once we parked and met our guide (Jeremy I believe, maybe Jeremiah... I feel bad for not remembering right now, because he was fantastic!), we were at ease and excited to get started. We decided on the two seater for the tour and it ran perfectly. The trail was fun, and very long. Once we got to the glacier, we had fish quesadillas. I'm not a fan of fish at all, but I still tried one. For someone who hates fish and anything about fish, it was the closest thing I've had to liking. I didn't like it because I could still taste a hint of the fish, but for what it's worth, if you like fish, or aren't like me and hate fish, then I think you'll absolutely love it. They did have a vegan option for my wife which I also had. Now THAT was killer. I enjoyed those a lot. The way back was fun, picked up the pace a bit and got to stretch the ATVs legs a little. Fair warning though, if you're using an open face helmet, you WILL get water/mud in your face. Even though we tried our best, we kept splashing ourselves which was kind of nasty, haha. They did provide a face cover that I used, but water goes right through it. The worst was when it would splash and hit my forehead between my goggles and helmet. Yuck. Still a lot of fun though, and that was definitely part of the experience! All in all, if you have a choice, I'd highly recommend these guys. There may be several companies all doing the same tour, but my experience with the people who run it is what makes me highly recommend them. Book it and you won't be sorry! read more

Took an ATV side by side to the Knik glacier (all day) and it was incredible! Our tour guide, Jerimiah, was so friendly, knowledgeable, fun and interesting which added to a great excursion. The trail was legit: dirt, mud, rocks, water - every terrain but snow (went in summer)! They provide you with all the gear necessary - boots, helmet, gloves, goggles, and waterproof pants/jacket. We loved it so much we also purchased T shirts. All of the views of course were stunning - the surrounding mountains, river and the glacier/ icebergs. This was an unforgettable experience and I would highly recommend this tour to anyone going to Alaska! read more

The highlight of our trip to Alaska! My family and I went on the full-day ATV trip and had the best time! My parents drove a side by side, my brother drove a 4-wheeler, and my husband and I also had a side by side. The guides were excellent and the glacier view was incredible. Delicious fish tacos were prepared hot and fresh for lunch. They also provided gear such as a rain jacket/pants, boots, gloves and helmets. Several stops were made along the journey for sightseeing and photo opportunities. I highly recommend this experience! If we find ourselves in Alaska, we'd do this again! read more

Words cannot describe this amazing adventure! Before leaving LA, I did my research, read reviews and then made the calls...Cedar, (co-owner and wife of Brian) and I talked liked old friends. My ONLY request, was this could not be some low speed follow the leader nonsense in pretty scenery...WE (me, wife, and 10 & 11 year old daughters) wanted hardcore, fast paced, adrenaline laced adventure in the backwoods of Alaska!....To say the least, she is the most HONEST woman I have EVER met! First and foremost, the guys (now friends) are amazing! Brian, Zack and Shane are outdoor ATV off-road legends, who live for these rides! They trek the 54+ miles to the Knik Glacier multiple times a week and still embrace it like it was their first rodeo and their knowledge of the area, terrain, history, geology (Yes, Zack taught us a lot!!!) was surreal, just like the beauty! Sadly, Brian did not get to ride with us because he had to give me his rig, to allow my family to enjoy this adventure...AND that is the kind of customer satisfaction these guys thrive on...They will make this trip as easy (boring...lol) or ADVENTUROUS (while safe...lol) as you allow! After hours of fun, in mud, water, gravel, rainforest, trees, raging river crossing, etc. we made it to the Knik Glacier...and trust me...there is no other way to see this beautiful piece of nature! At the turn, Shane made us Salmon quesadillas...seriously! To be clear, I HATE fish, other than sushi and these things were AMAZING! All while Zack loaded us with snacks and every hot and cold drink you could ask for....including coffee snobs like Shane appreciate! LOL On the way back, we were a bit ahead of the "other" group with us and Brian met us on the trail to not feel left out of our day! AND he did not disappoint....Brian took command and my family took another hour long adventure through water and UP, OVER and AROUND dunes while Brian was hotrodding on TWO WHEELS! To say the least, I was more than a bit worried about rolling his rig while following him on these crazy hills but it was truly like riding with an old friend....and YES, I kept all four on the ground...MOST of the time...LOL! Clearly, I can keep writing because just thinking about this day puts a HUGE smile on my face and was the HIGHLIGHT of our 9 days in Alaska! Just ask my girls! Words cannot describe the value this trip had on our vacation, but I can tell you, it would not have been the same without 49th State Motor Tours and Brian, Zack, Shane and Cedar! Bryan and Shane were excellent tour guides! Even though the rain prevented us from crossing Friday creek to get to the glacier, it was still great day riding out and riding around the sand dunes. Shane is an excellent cook and made delicious salmon quesedillas. Shane and Bryan had great knowledge about the plants and animals of the area. Felt extremely safe with these two, very experienced and it is evident that safety, fun, and comfort is their priority. They also drive ahead sometimes to get action shots of riders. I would highly recommend them, and highly recommend dressing in warm layers with your own rain gear and put their gear on top. Definitely bring a handkerchief to tie around your face for wind and sand. They provide helmet, gloves, and goggles; but you can bring your own as well. They also bring along water, snacks, and hand warmers. They also care about the land they use, at the lunch stop they'll pick up extra trash around the area that others left behind to pack out. Great guys! Best parts were the hot meal and zipping around the sand dunes since we didn't make it to the glacier. Will definitely book with them next time we come to Anchorage, hopefully the weather would be more cooperative or there's an alternate place we could adventure to. read more

I've been on several ATV tours now, all over the states - and I can honestly say that this was the best one, hands down. I grew up on quads - so it will always be one of my favourite ways to see a place, especially for backcountry. This lived up to all my high standards, and actually even passed them! Brian's passion for the area, the history, and ATV-ing was evident the whole time. Christina and I were incredibly lucky to be the only ones on the tour - and we took full advantage of it. From the perfect weather, to the amazing guide (thanks Brian - and Wheeler, the real star haha), plus the DELICIOUS salmon quesadillas while staring out over a magnificent glacier - means I would recommend this tour to absolutely anyone. In fact, I would attempt to force it on them, since it was a once in a lifetime experience. Great, amazing trip! Machines were top notch, scenery was amazing and extremely diverse. IT ended up being only my 18yr old son and I, yet Brian ran the tour for us without one word as to the small size of the tour. The hot lunch at the glacier was filling and even my son who does not like seafood much couldn't stop talking about the salmon quesadillas made fresh. A few stops along the way to observe animals- saw the white mountain goats, several solo moose, and a couple of momma moose with newborns. Would absolutely do it again. read more
