I got a new job which unfortunately moved me 12 miles away from Busy Bee. We love the school so much that I sucked it up for a full year and made two 24 mile round trips per day so my daughter could graduate there. We tried one of the large well known chains and there's no comparison. Busy Bee's small, family owned school made me feel like I was dropping my kids off with family.

First and foremost, the lack of communication from staff members was incredibly frustrating. Important updates regarding my child's progress or any incidents at school were nonexistent. There was no way to know what the children were doing all day at this daycare. They would not come home with any projects, homework, not even a piece of artwork in the month and a half we were there. Furthermore, the curriculum seemed outdated and uninspired. My child showed little enthusiasm for the activities provided, suggesting a lack of engagement and stimulation. It's disheartening to witness such a lackluster approach to early childhood education. Aside from the aspects of the education and staff, my child consistently had unusual episodes of accidents and vomiting that did not seem to be linked to any infection or illness. On the most upsetting occasion, during lunch time, my daughter had told a staff member that she needed to use the restroom and was told that she has to wait. She ended up going number two in her pants in the lunch room. She is 4 years old and has never had an accident as such since being potty trained at 2. She consistently told me that they would tell her she has to wait until after lunch to use the restroom. When I spoke to the owner, she was inconsistent with her story about the incident. Originally telling me that she never told anyone she had to use the restroom, then she speaks very quietly and they will have to work with her to speak louder, and finally that the teacher did come up to her and asked her if she had to go number one or number two and she said number one. As if whether she had to pee or poop would make any of this better. Fast forward one week and during lunch the staff member told her to finish her food, but she did not like it. She ended up throwing up instantly as I put her in my car after school and in tears telling me she didn't like the food she was told to finish. All of this could be over looked if I didn't reach out to SEVERAL other families in Livingston that had similar experiences and had left this day care as well. So far I have yet to meet someone who has something good to say about this day care. These are just a few of my experiences at this facility, which I have plenty more of. The owner also has a ridiculous policy to notify them one month in advance if you decide to leave or you lose your deposit. So basically, my child is miserable there and I have to force them to continue to go for one more month or we lose our deposit. Obviously I care for my child far too much to put her through any more of this. I was so upset over this entire experience I did not even bother to return to pick up my children's belongings leaving behind some clothing and slippers for 2 children. Just stay away, there are plenty of lovely and wonderful daycares, including Russian based day cares, around our areas to choose from. This place is very cold and not a pleasant experience for any child or parent.

My child is well taken care of and even though we just started the staff all know my family by name. Highly recommend for all children because the curriculum is excellent. It is not just a 'daycare' but they strive to prepare our children for Kindergarten and help with socializing, sensory stimulation, nap schedules etc. I also love the additional activities and philanthropic fundraisers they support. Everyone I know also speaks so highly of this location from the clean facilities to the staff. I miss my child during the day but the TLE app keeps me updated and sends pictures.

So we had to un-enroll her. Also had an experience where there were only 2 kids in the class around 7:45am, and 2 teachers. One teacher was holding a crying toddler, yet the other teacher neglected to comfort our daughter who was screaming at her feet, while she continued to talk to the other teacher. She only interacted with her when she saw me looking at her from the side window. This was day 3 of my daughter being enrolled there. Which completely broke my heart seeing this as a first time day-care mom. I spoke to the director and requested a specific teacher be assigned to my daughter because I noticed she was the most nurturing from what I'd seen, but was told they could not honor my request and assign a specific teacher cause they don't take requests. A few kids had yellow snot running down their noses which also resulted in my daughter having a terrible flu for 2 weeks. Stopping in a couple times during the day we also noticed that her bottle and food was placed on the table and left, and if they dropped or she didn't eat, there'd be little attempt to ensure she has something in her tummy. So she was always extremely hungry and cranky when we picked her up and drank 2 bottles on the drive home from roseland to Montclair. Our experience was not the greatest, but yours may be different. Eventually, her stopping eating and drinking after a week of being there forced us to remove her & we appreciate miss Tessa understanding and issuing us a partial refund.

My child experienced harsh teachers and policies such as half day kids forced to stand around and watch the full day kids eat lunch. This school is not a professional environment because of their lack of communication with parents. They do not give honest assessments of children's abilities, and are too wrapped up in promoting Montessori instead of looking out for the best interest of the child. This environment is not conducive to the child who needs extra reinforcement. They are too focused on the Montessori philosophy to identify into the learning style, and abilities of individual students. After transferring my child to public school I was met with the reality that my child was not prepared academically. This came as a huge surprise because after confronting the teacher and principal about my childs readiness. I was assured that my child was prepared. What an absolute let down, and pathetic disappointment that this school did not live up to its academic integrity. And please do not waste your time on the "fast track" education that this school offers, as it is nothing more than a business ploy. The administration should seriously re-evaluate their responsibility to the community and our children. They have become more of a business instead of being a responsible institution.
