There's no food here but the wine selection is amazing! A great store with a vast selection! The staff here were welcoming to us as first timers. It's a great store that is nice, open and airy. I continue to love this quaint off the beaten path wine shop and they're opening a second location in Hyde Park on 55th Street soon. I am looking forward to seeing what else this place has to offer. It is not as close to me as Binny's or as expansive as Cooper's Hawk, but having a nice small wine place in the neighborhood is something to be proud of and I want to be supportive. I was certain the tasting had a fee, but it did not! Every Thursday they have free tastings from 5-7. I thought at first it would be inefficient to do that, but me and my party bought bottles! It was from a shelf marked $10, but nevertheless, one can get decent wine for that amount. The 'bartenders' were informative and generous with their selections. The crowd was friendly and polite for people enjoying free stuff! The selections from other countries look good too, so next trip I will check them out and spend more moolah! read more

Poor customer service. This is my second time coming into 57th street wines and not being greeted or asked for assistance. Today I entered the shop without a greeting or anyone willing to help. In fact, it was a group of individuals sitting at a table just staring at me. I tried to browse the wine selection but felt uncomfortable and VERY unsatisfied with my experience. This has long been our favorite wine shop, so when we needed alcohol for our wedding, we immediately knew where to go. Blaine was awesome. He brought energy, enthusiasm, and great problem-solving skills to our first meeting. We love the alcohol we picked together, and the delivery came off flawlessly. Though we had our caterers serve, we also know that Blaine does serve at weddings as well. We're sure he would be spectacular at that too. Hire him for your big day! read more

This is one of those wonderful little wine shops where the staff is incredibly knowledgeable, the collection is well-curated, and you end up discovering cool things you didn't know existed but turn out to like a lot. It is also one of those small businesses that has provided incredible service during the pandemic -- you can order online, or correspond with them, and get a really interesting selection of stuff delivered quickly and seamlessly to your door in Hyde Park. I'm more of a beer and cocktail drinker yet still felt welcome at this cozy wine store. They sell some beers, and some craft spirits as well. They've been open for about a year and joined them at a 1 year tasting event. Tried some wines, beer, and whiskey. They had finger foods around as well. The first time I walked in I was warmly greeted by the staff. The staff was also helped me find an amazing, affordable wine. Beyond a helpful staff, the space is beautiful. The store is spacious with the original wood molding and awesome floors. The owner told me about the history of the storefront, before it was a wine shop it was an antiquarian bookstore and a Christian Science reading room. It was an awesome place to stop on your way to the BYOB restaurants on 57th or on your way home. read more

This is a perfect small wine store. The staff are extremely knowledgeable, and generous with their time and recommendations. They stock great wine in a big range of prices. I've had tasty selections off the "$13 and under" table, and I've found more expensive, rare limited production wines that I usually don't see elsewhere.
