Very unique experience consisting of multiple stories of floor to ceiling artwork. I don't believe there is an elevator/lift for those who need it, but the spiraling staircase is incredible and fully painted with different themes on each floor. There are many different resident artists there that have small sections of each floor where they work and sell their art. There is such a wide ranging variety of mediums, styles, and art around every corner, there is sure to be something you'll like! Also, its free to enter and walk around! You can buy art from artists if you'd like but there is no pressure to buy anything. Overall great experience! read more

You'll see weird art you'll love. You'll also see weirder you'll hate. Some artists are technically skilled...and some artists should go back to art school. Good art. Bad Art. So many emotions. You'll see it from a block or two away. I honestly don't remember who posted this place online. I bookmarked it because I was traveling with an art lover. As we walked from the Marais area towards the Louvre, the bright colors and objects protruding from the facade really grab your attention. No need for map quest. Be prepared- a lot of steps. You will wind in and out of rooms and halls. We went straight to the top and worked our way down. In 1999 three artists broke into the building abandoned 15 years earlier by Credit Lyonnais bank. Squatted. And it's been an artists' haven for years. Murals line the stairs. You can look at the art, you can watch the artists working. So many different ideas under one roof. You can get an overwhelming feeling. And some of the room are tight. I regret not buying a small piece from a certain artist. The work was unique and beautiful. read more

This is not your traditional art gallery. Admission is free but please donate to the cause ... you know starving artists. It was 5 floors of working arts studios with a gallery on the 1st floor. Many of the artists where in house working or chatting. Some great young talent! I loved the work of a calligraphy artist how used old books and Arabic calligraphy. It's a nice way to spend some time in Paris and explore a different art scene than Mona at the Louvre. read more

This is such an eclectic place, 6 floors of pure art within a beautiful parisian style building. The entrance is free. You are greeted by a very friendly lady who would invite you to wander in the each floor or head straight to the 6th which is set as a gallery. A piano is available for you to play if you wish. Graffiti and art prints all over the staircase are putting in the mood of creating yourself your own art piece. It is very messy almost disorganised but it is absolutely inspiring if you see through the beauty of this art house. A must visit if you haven't been yet. read more

Cool! There is something inherently satisfying in seeing artists producing art. After visiting so many galleries and museums with works produced many many years, it was refreshing to see works produced many many minutes ago. My daughter was standing in a cafe talking to my son about how to order 2% milk in French and was befriended by a man on the queue behind them who ascertained that we were American and needed a wee bit of assistance. He invited us to stop by the artist's studios if we got the chance since we were in the neighborhood. My husband AND daughter told me about this and I was thrilled since the other artist collective I wanted to visit was not open on the days we were in Paris. We set off immediately and were happy we took him up on his offer. James M Purpura is the artist who invited us to this gem of an experience where we were able to admire his artwork, speak with Luigi La Ferla and Amy Hamblin as well as meet Etsuko. We did stroll through the other spaces, but to meet and talk with artists at work is such a rich experience. I was happy to pick up a few items from artists while I was there and the work displayed was professional and full of beauty. Of course, there is a certain amount of artistic kitsch, especially on the painted stairs and walls, but the work within the spaces is worthy of notice. This galley is free to the public and completely what one looks for in experiencing a city that welcomes talented artists from all over the world. I wish I had more to time to go back and meet with more artists, they were so gracious and eager to explain their processes and stories. read more

So much to see, completely free! That is, if u can resist the urge to buy something :) I couldn't and I'm over the moon with the prints I bought! So many floors filled with talented people and amazing artwork. Cannot recommend more, I will definitely visit again if I come to Paris. read more
