Our group was about 20 people. When you are facing the opera you go to the left and security about half way down the opera lets you in. Then you check in and wait in a rotunda area. After waiting for probably 15-20 our tour started. They take you to most of the areas and it's semi private. One of the highlights of our trip!

If you enjoy Vegas style shows with lots of spectacle and entertainment, then yes. I'm glad I experienced it, and I think it was worth seeing once, but for me, it was definitely a one-and-done experience. The positives: I'm glad I went early. The doors open around 10:15 PM, but you can get in line before then. They don't start seating until around 10:45 PM. If you want a chance at front-row seats, I'd definitely recommend getting there as early as possible. I'm also glad I didn't get the champagne package. Personally, I'd recommend getting the basic ticket and enjoying food and drinks somewhere else before or after the show. There are plenty of places nearby where you can get a better meal or drinks for less. The show started and finished on time, which I really appreciated, especially since it was the late night 11:30 PM show. The staff was organized and seemed to know what they were doing. Everyone had their own job, and despite how busy and crowded it was, things moved along pretty smoothly. The cons: It was pricey, especially when you factor in the extra cost of food and drinks. I was also surprised by how casually dressed a lot of people were. I honestly expected guests to dress up more because of the reputation and glamorous image of Moulin Rouge. Of course, everyone can wear whatever they want, but I was expecting more of a dressed up, special occasion atmosphere. Another thing I wasn't expecting was being seated at a communal table with three other couples. It wasn't necessarily a bad thing, but it did take away from the more intimate and upscale experience I had pictured. Overall, I'm glad I went and can now say I experienced Moulin Rouge in Paris. It was fun to see once, but based on my experience, I don't feel the need to go back. If you love Vegas style shows, big performances, and a lively atmosphere, you may really enjoy it. Knowing its history made it difficult to watch The Fall Guy The facility is almost a hundred years old and it feels it. The seats are old, small, and uncomfortable. Right when we arrived in Paris two of our party took an Uber to the hotel while my mother and I took the bus to the Bastille ticket office. It is not easy to find and there is a fence. We had to go around some stairs and the opening was hidden around the corner. We stood in line for 2 hours. People behind us were counting and we told them we were purchasing for the 4 of us. On the Bastille website you are allowed to purchase 2 tickets per person. They got upset when my father and brother came after bringing our luggage to the hotel. They started pushing my brother and me. They got very physical. When the two line attendance came to open the doors the older ladies started yelling and pushing our family. They made derogatory racist remarks about us and when we told the line attendants they need to call the police their comment was "That's not our job". If that isn't one of their jobs than I don't see why they get paid at all. We finally got to the ticket counter and the person behind the counter was going to give us four tickets until one of the line attendance spoke to them in French and we were then told we were only allowed to purchase 2. We were told if we wanted to purchase two more tickets they had to stand back in cue. They ended up selling the two tickets that we were going to receive to one of the ladies that was pushing us. After everyone else got their tickets they happened to fix two seats and we were finally allowed to pay for two more tickets right before the performance. We paid three to four times the amount we should have paid for the other two tickets. When we sat down in the two original seats we purchased, insult to injury the older lady and daughter who were racist and assaulting us were sitting right next to us. After the show we talked to one of the managers that was there after the show and we talked to him. He was apologetic and said that he would write an email to the parent company that takes care of the tickets corroborating our story as he heard about it from other staff members. It was Christmas Day and it was one of the worst Christmas' our family has ever had. When we went back the next day they said it was our fault again.

Beautiful chandeliers came down from the ceiling. Women in feathered costumes were on stage and hanging from the chandeliers. Nudity unseen in my world at that time can not be forgotten. Needless to say I've never been to a show like that again. I can see by the recent reviews the place is not the same. Shows like Cabaret and Zorro can not replicate the spirit of the original shows. We got inexpensive seats, which wound up being in a gorgeous loge on one side of the venue. They offered a stellar vantage point of all but a sliver of one side of the stage, but I could tell the people in the two neighboring loges that were closer to the stage were missing a LOT of the show. It's a little confusing to find your seats and the ushers who unlock the loge for you work exclusively for tips, which they tell you as they're seating you. Unfortunately, I was in the lavatory when my husband was seated and had all our cash on me and he felt really bad about not having any Euros to give to her. Our local theatres also use volunteers for ushers but tipping them is not at all customary (I'm pretty sure it's never done), so this was a learning experience for us. Pricing for drinks and treats in the lobby is very fair -- I think it was 5 euros for a glass of wine. It would be nice if they had more tables out there for guests enjoying libations at intermission.

Visit Date: March 20, 2015…read more When I found out Dance of the Vampires was playing in Paris I had to go! Our hotel concierge hooked us up with pretty cheap seats in the orchestra section. The staff of the theatre were very nice. Our seats were way off the side of Orchestra but the ushers had seating charts with them to tell if there were any empty seats in the theatre. There were some empty seats closer to the center of the orchestra in the same row we were in so the usher moved us to those seats before the show began. The bathrooms were easy to find and fairly clean and private. The theatre was very nice, the only problem I had was that my credit cards weren't working when I went to purchase souvenirs so I had to run down the street to the bank and get euros so I could pay for my souvenirs. The show was amazing and I would definitely see it if you'll be in Paris during the run of le bal des vampires.
