Since this year, they would be bringing all the activities back we were like this is our moment. We went to the parade and had bought tickets for the bleachers. I recommend doing this, mainly because you do not have to bring your chairs downtown and depending on when you arrive, you may have to park far away and toting seats around is tough. To purchase your tickets, you just went to the Azalea Festival office. Super easy and I chatted with one of the gentlemen working and he walked me through some of the things to do on Saturday since it was our first time. The parade itself was great and my daughter loved it. It was spaced out alot and did go over the length it was supposed to by 30 mins, but I think it was mainly due to a malfunction with an Elmo float. (I really REALLY feel for those individuals trying to make that guy hover and stand up). The main reason I did not 100% love the festivities was the street fair in the parking lot. It was so cramped, the kids alley was really hard to navigate through and the lines were long, and the vendors were nice, but once again I wish it was more spaced out to accommodate the large amount of people attending.

Technology was good. The filmmaker lounge had some mid-century furniture in it. Kinda funky and cool. Small snack bar. Beautiful space with lots of charm and history in downtown Wilmington.

What a rip off. $7.00 person to get in. Then they push their Rib Sampling Tickets when you walk…read morein. Ignore it. You pay $12.00 for a set of 4 tickets and you get 1 rib per ticket. Yes, that's $3.00 per rib. And I'm talking 3" to 4" ribs with miniscule meat on them. And you better enjoy it because you just waited 35 minutes plus in line for it. That' because there are only 5 BBQ vendors. Some "rib" fest. Walk over to the beer tent and you have two choices. $5 for a blonde ale or $7 for an IPA. That's 16 ounces of warm beer. What a deal! But the best part is you need to pay another $1.00 for a legal drinking age, wrist band just to get servered. Most of the rest of the vendors are mobile phone and storm window hawkers. We been to a lot of festivals around the country and I must say this nickel & dime event is scraping the bottom of the barrel.

The Bbq side of the festival was a disappointment. This is basically 3 big time bbq vendors hiring…read morelocal staff selling decent ribs, brisket, and pulled pork and not like an authentic Bbq competition you may have gone to elsewhere. State fair prices. Music was decent. Side show was entertaining. Overall wasn't that bad, but probably won't come back next year. Even though weather was good, turnout was low. Word must be out to locals it doesn't live up to the hype. 2 stars is best I can give it.

Their website claims to have it, but doesn't. They claim they are too busy with xmas to provide it. Really? All I asked for was the fee information. In the time it took them to respond very coldly and rudely to me they could have sent the fee information. What are they hiding? Or is it that they already know who they want as their vendors and everyone else is not worth their time. I will find another venue for my heirloom quality quilts. This is no way to run a business!!!!

Most areas are kind of confined, some more than others! The ladders can be a little challenging but just take it easier. I found it easiest to go down ladders (aka stairs) backwards, facing the steps. The signage could use improvement. Sometimes it was hard to know which way to go or how to exit. The ship has been well maintained and preserved. The amount of how much of this ship history that has been preserved in simply astounding. From the sick recovery rooms, where surges were perform, the communications center, dining area, ship store, divers, laundry room, shower room, the ship is massive. Appreciating each and every person who served, appreciating those that have preserved this ship. The price was super affordable, staff were very friendly and informative. My son and I covered a great amount of the ship in two hours and u found rooms on the ship that I didn't see the first time around. Plenty of free parking and a nice gift shop as well.
