Dos Banderas - Asada tacos. Bland, and tasted overwhelmingly of liquid smoke.

This was my first real foray into the Mexican food scene in Eugene/Springfield... and I really,…read moretruly hate to be harsh, but I'm sorry to say that I'm not sure it could have gone much worse. With my dad being in town with me, the two of us decided to go on a late-night taco run. We went with a big order that included 2 carne asada tacos, 2 tacos campechanos, an asada burrito, and a chorizo breakfast burrito. Starting with the asada itself: it was just depressingly, woefully bland. The meat was crying out for any sort of seasoning. Somehow, though, this wasn't the worst part -- even more strikingly, it was clear that liquid smoke was likely used as well. If you've never tasted liquid smoke before, it's a horrible, powerfully artificial flavor that should go nowhere near any quality piece of meat. Color me thoroughly impressed if this was not the case here. The asada burrito had almost no asada in it, despite my dad requesting "double" meat. The chorizo had a strange aftertaste, not super pleasant. Furthermore, proper chorizo gives a bright punch of acidity, a stout kick of spice, and a rich unctuousness (aka: that sinful, I-hate-myself fattiness... you know the one) -- this had none of those things. Making a duo of the asada and chorizo in the tacos campechanos did not elevate either meat; it ended up kind of just being a tandem of sadness and regret. My dad -- who never, ever says anything bad about Mexican food -- may have put it best: "Yeah... this was pretty freakin' bad." I will say that the service was friendly and informative... I will always, always appreciate and recognize that in a business. The food, on the other hand, I'm sorry to say might have been the worst I have had to date as far as Mexican goes. I am hoping (praying!) that I find a go-to taco/burrito spot around these parts soon -- I may go certifiably insane if I don't.

They were open late night but food was horrible, should've just opted for an overpriced hot dog instead. Do not recommend the carne asada at ALL, maybe the other meat is okay but everything was super greasy as well, the tortillas full of grease, the torta unnecessarily greasy too. Everything was just terrible, don't recommend especially if you're hispanic and actually enjoy good tacos.

The sweet potato fries with the thousand island? Sauce was awesome, the falafel wrap I got a bite of was also super loaded and nice, the tempeh satay was interesting, I don't have anything (like a non vegan satay?) to compare it to. I was a little bummed it wasn't served on a stick, because that's more fun, but this was amazing. I still need to get around to trying their soft serve! My non vegan friend also loved everything :)) i feel like the Philly is my favorite, I think it may be seitan shreds? Aka it may not be gluten free, but I would check! It's up there with the vegan Philly I had ~from Philly~ :) I hope this place sticks around for a long time, it's a real gem. The chili cheese fries are divine, past me didn't get a picture or make a proper review but this is the spot! It's a food truck with nice outdoor seating next to it. There's a paid lot just behind the truck too that uses the Park Mobile app, and some classic street parking. Prices are reasonable, I am certain I will be back!

I died and went to cheese heaven. I am so glad to have landed on the review that made me plug in…read morethe address of this treat truck and head over to give her a shot! The smell that was coming from the truck was like fish hooking every one of my senses, it was pulling and reeling me closer to this food truck dream. You can pick your toppings or select from a list of several other sandwiches. I had a turkey, provolone, pepper jack cheese on texas toast with a side of pickled jalapeños. So cheesey! So perfect. The turkey was tasty and looked like it was carved off a whole turkey after Thanksgiving. Bread was delicious. You have the option of a side salad or tortilla chips. My husband had a ham melt with cheddar and provolone. Very tasty ham slices with cheese that about about slapped your face or was so stretchy! Dreamy. Did I say yet how great and amazing the service was? I didn't. So let me just say...humor was a bonus. A down to earth gal with a spicy funky soul. Loved the vibes radiating from her. I always place standard very high for customer service...I've worked in it. I know how it should be. The cheesey queen nailed it! The cheesey chef behind the curtain, hands down the best fried cheese and bread I've had since grandma's after school back in the day. Can't wait to go back and try the beer cheese soup! The distillery was very cute and fancy looking . Nice service. Shout out to Brian T.'s review that made us try this awesome cheesey place!

The biscuit was barely warm and covered with a lot of barely warm sausage gravy. The gravy itself was lack luster in flavor...sorry, just sayin'. So bottom line; not the best biscuits & gravy I've had and wouldn't go out of my way to come back for them. My friends cinnamon roll was big, too and priced the same as the single B & G; $4. I had a bite and noted the flavor was good but it needed to be warmed up. I think the pan of rolls got a little overlooked because we left the bottom of the roll due to crunch factor. Maybe I shoulda gave them a 2 star rating, but the server was friendly, the food quick, decently priced and had average taste. Oh, they have an old bus you can "dine" in, too.

After a difficult week, I would go grab one to bring home on Saturday morning as I read the paper. The sandwich from Streets could turn my week around. And now it's gone. Streets has been replaced by some horrid outer space - alien themed monstrosity displaying banners riddled with 90's graphic design. I was crushed this morning, I couldn't even give the new place a try. R.I.P. Streets. You gave people a second chance coming out of the penal system, and you made a hell of a breakfast sandwich.
