It was quite true what people say about Jennifer being a complete joy. From the moment we walked in she greeted us and extended an invitation to complimentary waters as we heard an overview from her about the featured local artists in her gallery. My son, who has an interest in art, photography and rarely meets anyone he likes, immediately struck up a conversation with her, enthused by her energy and kindness. He's at a crossroads in his life, deciding what to do after high school, so it was rather apropos that she said to find what you're passionate about, so that your work doesn't end up feeling like work. When one of my friends used to live in Key West, we would always come to this store when I came for a visit. I was in town after finishing the Ragnar Relay 2012, and knew that I wanted to treat myself to something from this awesome store! I headed to my favorite section, where Artist JENNIFER BADRY displays her hand-made jewelry. She was super-friendly and even asked me to ship her a pair of earrings I bought years ago that broke. A visit to this lovely gallery is a MUST each time we visit Key West. The artwork and the jewelry make wonderful keepsakes, and never fail to "take me back to the island." The ever-knowledgeable Jennifer is always able to relate some background info that makes the piece even more special. Love this gallery! We popped into several shops on Duval St. looking for some trinkets to give our mom's as Christmas gifts. And we just weren't feeling it...until we walked into 7 Artists. Jennifer Badry was in the store - she makes jewelry, and she's adorable. She helped us pick out the perfect presents, and even offered to convert a pair of earrings to clips for my mom, since her ears aren't pierced. I was drooling over a pair of beautiful coral resin earrings from Paris and almost bought them, but I couldn't bring myself to spend the money. (But they were killer! I kind of wish I had them now!) Most of her stuff is VERY reasonably priced, though. And we bought a couple of hand painted flamingo Christmas ornaments - one for us and one for my aunt who hates flamingo stuff. Turns out the artist, Pam Hobbs, who painted those went to the Kansas City Art Institute - good mojo, right? Everyone loved their gifts - my mom thought her necklace and bracelet were beautiful; my mother-in-law wears her earrings and bracelet ALL the time; my aunt's flamingo ornament was placed right front and center on her Christmas tree. read more
