I enjoyed the fried cheese bites and the cherry cone. They had a TV in the dining area that had all kinds of services and channels included in whatever package they had bought for the place. (not that any of the customers got to use it or anything, so no one was granted the opportunity to "Netflix and Grill and Chill" in the lobby.) They have a good nonperishable food section that I shopped often while living in town. The cashiers are mostly cordial but can be hit or miss at times. The shelves are sometimes emptier than they should be and they could use with restructuring and reorganizing the store. As an example: the new Family Dollar store across the street used to look like this store in it's old location but now it looks like you're in Suffolk shopping. I understand they're in an older attached building but they could definitely use with some updating. Looks aside, you can't go wrong shopping here for shelf stable foods and greeting cards, etc. Tip: They charge you $1 to do cash back. I personally hate that. Go to Walgreens or Rite Aid for cash back services instead.

My car went into limp mode shortly after I picked it up from them, and I was advised to bring it back to them. A couple days go by and I get a call letting me know the throttle body would need to be replaced. I say cool, I'll order one and bring it in. I get told they already ordered it and it would be here in a couple days. I ask well, how much did you pay for it, and where'd you get it from, and I'm told from NAPA for $503.00 ($100.00 less than the price that's on my invoice, and $200.00 more than what's listed on the NAPA website). It shouldn't take more than an hour to remove and replace a throttle body on my vehicle, yet I was charged $375.00 in labor and shop supplies fees. I ended up paying over $1,000.00 for a repair that was unnecessary and not even done properly. Upon taking the removed throttle body to another licensed mechanic, not only did they determine NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE OLD THROTTLE BODY, they inspected the work that I was overcharged for and determined Rhodes couldn't even have been bothered to replace the gasket, instead the opted to reuse the old one. I've been recommended to seek legal advice, but I'd much rather have this issue settled by the business.

He has saved me money when AAA gave me a diagnoses of some very dangerous front end work that needed to be done immediately (wouldn't drive it home the mechanic said. Took it to Rhodes he checked it and found it did need some work but nowhere close to AAA's diagnoses. Trust Tony and you will find you will be glad you did.

The lady who helped us (Jennifer I think her name was) is so sweet and friendly. They haven't been open very long but you can tell that they know what they are doing and the correct way to take care of their customers. Prices are exceedingly reasonable. She told us that they were working on adding some new options (pool tables, karaoke, possibly darts) and that they wanted to be a restaurant and bar without being a typical bar. Nice, down-home style service and cooking. We tried to stop in on a Sunday after we had been up visiting my sister-in-law in Petersburg and discovered that they are closed on Sunday's. On a Friday night we had planned to go to the Virginia Diner for an early dinner and decided to stop in here again....BEST DECISION EVER! I had the meatloaf and mashed potato's and my husband had the fried chicken plate...excellently prepared, plated and delivered. On another upside, the young lady is VERY attractive and she seems to be aware of it but NOT in an egotistical way at all. She made sure to address me first every time she came to our table and engaged in conversations that were funny and enjoyable. Very well done and I hope this place sticks around!
