From what I could see this is the only gas station along 2147 that I could find between Highway 281 and the Horseshoe Bay resort (there is a Valero and a 7-11 just past the resort). The station appears to be a very popular spot for the locals. And within it's 20 x 30' walls are crammed full of all those convenience store necessities. They have plenty of ice to sell, although I did not see any propane tanks for rent. What got my attention was the fact that they had an enormous wine selection from the cheapest sutter home to some around $20. They have plenty of cold beer, but not much craft beer. They also sell locally made breakfast tacos for $2 and $5 each which were quite good. And of course the checkout is surrounded by lottery tickets and smoking accessories. It was definitely worth the stop.

The property looked more like a salvage yard or mechanic shop than a boat rental & resort. When I walked into the office, it had an unpleasant odor and did not inspire confidence. I started filling out the paperwork, but the employee at the counter disappeared without explanation. I stepped outside briefly to move my car, and when I returned, the owner approached me and bizarrely stated that I was "going to kill him." He then informed me that a boat had been returned damaged the day before and that there was no boat available for our reservation. We had driven two hours to get there and arrived at 10:30 a.m. on the Fourth of July, only to find out that our rental could not be honored. When I asked if there was anything they could do to help, the answer was simply no. The owner then grabbed a damaged propeller from the counter and used it to explain the situation. What made this even more questionable was that the propeller was covered in dust and did not even appear to match the model we had reserved. Afterward, I read additional reviews and found multiple accounts describing nearly the exact same experience. That made me question whether this was truly an unexpected issue or a recurring pattern. What frustrates me most is that they reportedly knew about the damage the day before. If that was the case, why wasn't I contacted before making a two-hour drive? A simple phone call could have saved us a significant amount of time, money, and frustration. Based on my experience, I would not recommend renting from this business.
