But he was looking over the sandwich and expiration date because the bread had some odd speckles. He wasn't sure if it was expired. The date was the same day which is still good. It was a "signature stuffing roll" according to the ingredient description. So I imagine it has herbs and $h1# up in there. But I appreciate his caution and concern. Not many people would risk slowing down the line and pay that much attention to the customers purchase. So I appreciate his careful, thoughtful, and alert nature. I ate the sandwich and lived to write about it. I didn't get sick at all. It was fine. The staff here are friendly, helpful, and professional despite what some of these other people say. I never had any issues. UPDATE: I'm including the cashier Mani in on this review. He also looked over my sandwich to make sure it wasn't spoiled. The Holiday Harvest Hoagie has dark stuffing herbs in the bread that makes it look spoiled. So I go off the expiration date. But I'm glad the staff is looking out for their customer's well being.

The store is well-lit, well-stocked and clean. The staff here are friendly, prices are fair and there's also a good selection of area-souvenirs as well. It's great because it opens later than the hours of the Starbucks/Subway, so if you're ever in the area and need to pick up some drinks/snacks, this place is a good place to go. Been going here once a month and service/cleanliness is always consistent.

We were originally in search of Starbucks (adjacent) but it was closed at 10pm on a Saturday night. We were desperate for a bathroom & decent coffee after having to wait hours at the Otay Mesa crossing. The restrooms were clean & had a couple stalls, convenient for my clown car. lol Food Mart is large & well stocked with food, drinks, coffee, specialty coffee (not Starbucks quality but good enough), automotive section, cool knickknacks, etc. Plenty of parking & can accommodate large vehicles. FYI Wandered around for coffee/snacks while a border patrol officer did the same. He did not bother us but still irked my folks.
