We got into Rome late and wanted a meal close by but I also really wanted to check gnocchi off of my Italy food list. We found this place on our search and decided to go for it. It is in the middle of nowhere and there was a party happening at the same time so we panicked thinking we made a big mistake. However once inside the dining area there was only one other table eating. The menu looked amazing so we proceeded to order. We started with a greek salad and an arugula salad. Then moved on to a broccoli carbonara, gnocchi with shrimp and a lemon pasta. Unfortunately it was all so americanized I was so disappointed. The olives were what you would find in a can in the states. The tomatoes were not ripe, the lettuce was not fresh. The pastas were so salted and the shrimp in my dish was tiny, salad shrimp. The gnocchi was not fresh either, it was just the packaged variety.
However I imagine that is what sells and what some people are looking for so I can't knock them for that. Just know before you go. The service is amazing and they brought out these little mini pizza type things for our toddler as well as a balloon.
One thing to be careful of is your taxi. We had the waitress get us a taxi back to our hotel and the driver charged us to pick us up and the drive. But the price of the food was so inexpensive it didn't add up to make a fuss. read more
