I would not hire this (General Plumbing Services LLc) company again. What they tell you it is a…read morefree estimate but really it isnt. It is at least $60 for the estimate but it is waived if they do the work. I had Jose Rodriguez (owner's son) go ahead and do the work but they dont tell you that he has to get in there and take it apart to see what needs to be done to get an estimate. He took about twice as long as it should have for 5 small minor fixes and replace the faucet on my kitchen sink. He didnt know what was causing the ghost flush on my toilet so that didnt get fixed. I found it the next day and it was the overflow tube that had a crack in it. They also charge you 1.2 of the price of the parts if they have to go to the store to get them. The owner says he charges $225/ hour but his son did the job and I ended up paying almost $50/hour for a (licensed?) apprentice, which is what Jose is supposed to be. They said it takes time and money to get the parts and it costs to get a license to be a licensed plumber. Apparently those trips to the store for parts don't count in the hourly charge. He did fix the small things and the kitchen faucet but in my opinion they overcharged me. Jose took 9 hours to do probably a 4 hour job or less, It was like I was supposed to help pay for their inconvenience. Jose claims he knows what he is doing but hooked up my hot/cold lines backwards on the kitchen faucet and had to correct. They actually gave me the price of the quote the next day and after talking to the owner (Jerry Peralez). Apparently Texas law requires assistance with an apprentice to do the work and his dad (licensed) was not on the job to assist.

I had a Sunday plumbing problem (of course!) and tried to fix it myself. Home Depot, rent the…read moresnake, spin poo water all over my bathroom, etc..... Anyway, I did not succeed. I was referred to Jerry Peralez (owner of GPS) by a friend in the plumbing biz and was very pleased. He came out early the next day and fixed the problem; roots at the city connection. Not only did I not fix it myself, I never would. It was way past the length of the snake I rented. Jerry and his crew found a buried clean-out in my flower bed, and scoped out the situation after clearing the clog. He called the city to let them know it was on "their side" and made sure that they would address the problem, and then the flower bed was put back in order. He even put a little box around the clean-out so it would not be forgotten again. Toilet was put back on (they wore little booties) and they were gone. I was shocked at how little he charged and how much I got out of the visit. I would suggest him to anyone.
