He will do what is best for your teeth, and keep you informed along the way. He is smart, thoughtful, compassionate, friendly and extremely detail oriented and professional. He has a fun and funny rapport with his team, who are nothing but delightful. His office will communicate via email which is wonderful, and sometime it will be Dr. Hao who follows up himself if he's checking on a particularly difficult tooth or recent surgery. His office has gone above and beyond to help me out when I have been in an emergency situation, I know they've stayed late or missed lunch hours for patients before. My favorite thing actually has nothing to do with the treatment... it's that so far he has been really punctual. Dentists (and other medical professionals) usually keep you waiting for hours after your appointment time. Really annoying. But he has never been late so far, which I really appreciate. Service is great too. He takes plenty of photos to demonstrate what he is talking about. And he seems pretty honest too about what treatments you do and don't need. Booked it a whole month in advance BY PHONE and they said that it was never booked. Absolutely ridiculous. Would recommend calling to confirm that they haven't lost your appointment. Email too. Made the call on Nov. 6 for new patient (my bad, I told her Nov 2 just now) for Dec. 6. While I agree with the others that this is an efficient & high-tech dentistry office, I felt like Dr. Hao and his staff were more concerned with getting the most out of my insurance money than actually caring for the well-being of my mouth. I had severely receding gums with painfully sensitive teeth. After referring me to a specialist he actually tried to sell me on a teeth whitening kit. Anyone who knows anything about receding gums & sensitivity knows this would be one of the last things a dentist should recommend. He said it would cause some extra sensitivity, but they were having a sale on whitening kits so I should try the offer. Right then and there I knew this was not the dentist for me. On our first meeting, after saying how white my teeth were, he mocked the all-natural toothpaste I used and made me feel uneasy about my choice. Unfortunately, I don't agree with these other Yelpers. I found this dentist in Yelp, did the whole X-rays and everything, then had my 6 month review. Dr Hao was not there for this review, and no other Dr was in attendance. The dental assistant ended up chipping off one of my caps on my teeth. They still charged me the same amount even though the main dentist wasn't there. I emailed them after I realized my chipped tooth, and they didn't say they would replace it. This is my dentist, my last one. For all those that know me, know that I have this thing where I change dentists much too often. Why? Because I could never find one that wasn't out there to rip me off and feed me a load of bull. I had taken to going from dentist to dentist to get an opinion that actually would be consistent. I found Dr. Hao through YELP and amazed by the amount of positive reviews I decided to give him a try. First of all, the wait time to see him was long. I wasn't overly concerned because I figured it would be. However, I also had an emergency appointment with Dr. Hao done a month after my first visit and was booked in right away. I find that Dr. Hao is one of those dentists that truly does respect and care about his patients so if that means he has to cut back on his personal time off to fit in emergency appointments, he does. Anyway, I didn't expect much going into my first appointment. I figured he'd do the same thing most of the other dentists I saw would do - take more xrays (despite me sending over xrays from my previous dentist), charge me a ridiculous amount to go over my gums and determine quickly through one xray that I needed a root canal. This was not the case here. Dr. Hao spent a good amount of time with me explaining my xrays, comparing them to other patients, taking actual photographs of my teeth with all his cool new equipment and even did an extensive oral cancer check with an UV light. I felt he was incredibly thorough, calm and encouraging. My dental anxiety was melting away. As stated previously, my emergency appointment followed and I was booked in right away with no questions asked. Once more, Dr. Hao was very thorough and I trusted his diagnoses. Apparently I just had sensitive teeth that were bothering me. I was given a few suggestions and products to try, he didn't try to sell me anything from his office either which was new to me. Lastly, I had a cavity filled with Dr. Hao which another dentist said I'd need a root canal on. The cavity wasn't even deep to ever consider such an extreme action. It was just awkwardly placed. Despite the strange location of the cavity, Dr. Hao once more assured me that he would succeed in fixing it with minimal difficulty. He then compared my cavity to previous patients so I could get a visual of what work would be done. He is the only dentist that I've been to that has done that and It calmed me down considering my anxiety. During the process of having my tooth fixed Dr. Hao would occasionally stop and take photos of the tooth in question so that I could see the actual cavity. He was very informative and involved me in what he was doing. It's been a while and the teeth Dr. Hao fixed have been doing great. I never had any sensitivity after the fillings nor any other problems. I recommend him to everyone seeking a new dentist, he is simply the best. Fantastic bed side manner, a great sense of humor and lets not forget his staff- they are all so friendly and personable. I am happy to note that I will no longer be dentist hunting! read more

Ok, first of all I just want to say that I my family has been going to this place for years. Robin who is one of the hygienists isn't that great. How can I say that? Well because I have a sibling who has special needs and is sensitive to the sharp tools used. He wasn't terrified of going to the dentist before this place but after coming here for a few years he definitely was. It got to the point where the hygienist couldn't understand why he was having a hard time opening his mouth. Thanks to this place, my brother is scorned and doesn't like going to the dentist. Went to another place and while it was great, the new place is super strict on time and we are paying double. What are the odds of getting another bad dentist? WOW. I'm so happy I made the switch from my previous dentist to 720 King West! No more tears! (Yeah, I'm a baby). I'm not a big fan of the dentist (never have been, never will), but finally things just got to be too much with my previous dentist and I knew it was time for a switch. Everything about my first experience at 720 was great. Booking my appointment was so easy, and the staff were so friendly. I didn't have to wait when I got to the appointment, the hygienist was lovely (we had so much in common!) I got to watch TV, and Dr. Hao was phenomenal! Since this was my first appointment, it was 2 hours, but all the time felt like it was well spent. Dr. Hao and his staff obviously care a lot about their patients, and were very concerned about my comfort (again, I'm a baby). Dr. Hao was extremely thorough, and explained everything he was doing - he even took pics of my teeth with a teeny tiny camera on a stick, and showed me all the problem areas. Thank you, Yelp. I found Dr. Hao through you, and am quite happy. He's real - he's a dentist, but he's not immune to 'dental pockets' for food to get trapped in, or from having other dental issues himself. Which helps me identify with him. He doesn't get upset if we're not treating our teeth in any uber-priority way; rather, he shows us visual examples of which direction we're likely to head in if we don't alter our habits. Good usage of technology. More high tech than what I had been used to. Nice hygienists - all of them. Maybe it was my fault, but... Dr. Hao does not do extractions. My whole purpose of finding a new dentist was to have my four wisdom teeth extracted. From reading all these great reviews, I shouldn't have jumped on the bandwagon too quickly. He said he will have to refer me to another clinic to have my wisdom teeth extracted and quoted for approximately $2000. It is quite disappointing now that I have to find another dentist to do my extractions. With limited amount of insurance, finding another dentist will just eat up half of my dental allowance on just the initial consultation. Dr. Hao is still a great dentist and his staff are great. E-mailing for appointment confirmation is so much easier as I always tend to miss my calls. Still a big fan for having him do my fillings, but just upset he can't do my extractions. read more

You know what sets Dr. Hao apart? 1) He uses an intraoral camera, which is a dentist camera to take a photo for every single one of your freaking teeth. 2) He will take these photos with his camera on your first visit. And he will take again before/during/after any operation of a certain tooth. He's sort of obsessed with documenting everything the way Yelpers document a dinner, and honestly he's right to do this. 3) He's always right. He really is. I learned so much about dental hygiene from him. My other dentists (I had 5 before Dr. Hao) just perform the service, pat you on the back, and off you go. Dr. Hao is not a dentist running a business, he's a dentist who wants everyone to be healthy. I'm just terrible with making phone calls and this is the ONLY place that accepts email communications. And I mean comparing to health offices, fitness studios, optometrists, restaurants, everything because nobody wants to communicate via email. I have been going to Dr. Hao for a few years and had no complaints at the time. I thought he was a fantastic dentist. I went in for my annual checkup and teeth cleaning about a year ago. When the hygienist began cleaning my teeth, I felt pain unlike anything I had ever felt before. Granted, it was a long time since my last teeth cleaning. However, as she aggressively prodded and poked at my gums, I still didn't think a teeth cleaning should be be this painful. After about 10 minutes, I tapped out....I just couldn't take the excruciating pain anymore and asked her to stop. Dr. Hao and the hygienist insisted I was experiencing this pain because I hadn't had a teeth cleaning for a while. There was surely no way I was experiencing this pain because of the hygienist's skill or technique. I forget the name of the hygienist but it's probably the same one others have complained about here. Believe me, if she works on your mouth, you'll know who it is. I didn't end up having my check up with Dr. Hao. It would have been nice if they said, you know what, maybe we should try another hygienist... but they didn't. It would have been nice if they showed any form of empathy but nope, they did not. It would have been nice if they said, you know what, we didn't actually clean your teeth today so we won't charge you but nope, they charged me any way. This was hands down, my worst dental experience ever. I wanted to see if my painful experience was really because of the fact that I hadn't had a teeth cleaning for a while or because the hygienist was just terrible. If I felt the same type of pain with someone else, I was willing to admit that I was wrong. So I set up an appointment with a hygienist at a different office. The difference was night and day. I was confident in now knowing that a hygenist could clean my teeth without ripping my mouth apart. I still thought Dr. Hao was a good dentist though so I made the decision that I would still see Dr. Hao while getting my teeth cleaning elsewhere. Fast forward to just before Christmas 2017. I call in and tell them I'm getting my teeth cleaned elsewhere because of the terrible experience last time. I ask if it's ok for Dr. Hao to do the work still. They say yes. I take time off work to come in for a checkup. I sit in his chair and tell Dr. Hao my situation of how I'm getting my teeth cleaned somewhere else but I still would like him to be my dentist. There was an immediate change in the expression on his face. He told me he wanted all dental services to be done in one place. He was clearly mad and told me I should go see another dentist. He essentially kicked me out of his office. I couldn't believe he was so petty. Maybe he wanted to ensure his office wasn't losing guaranteed revenue from teeth cleaning. I didn't think it was a big deal...I mean I get my car cleaned at one place and my car fixed at another place. Cleaning and fixing are two very different skill sets...if I find someone that can clean my teeth without destroying my mouth, what's the problem with going to her while still getting my teeth managed by a dentist in a different location? Anyway, in hindsight, I'm glad Dr. Hao showed his true colors. It must be nice to have the luxury of discarding patients whenever you feel like it. I would love for you to get your teeth cleaned by the hygenist that cleaned my teeth for 10 minutes and tell me how you feel after that. read more

I found Dr. Hao and his practice through this website and I can also confirm that these reviews are all accurate. I went to him after about 3 years of not seeing a dentist (terrible experiences with my last one) and ended up having quite a number of cavities (surprise). I've been to this office many times and can confidently recommend 720 dental to anyone who's tired of hating the dentist chair. During your initial consultation, Dr. Hao will take a detailed look at your mouth and give you a very honest assessment. In my case, he helped me schedule the best treatment routine (always prioritizing areas that were bothering me) and even explained my dental coverage plan to me. Oh, he also uses a wicked HD camera to take pictures of your teeth in addition to the usual X-Ray business. You get before and after photos! As someone who's received (many) fillings at his hands, I can safely say he is the best. I never felt any discomfort, ever. I'm not exaggerating. It's clear that he prides himself on his work and takes great care in doing it. His friendly banter is comforting and he will frequently check to see if you need anything at all. He will even send you follow-up emails after your appointment just to make sure everything is fine! As I mentioned earlier, he will take before and after photos of his work so you can see how much better your tooth looks (it always looks better). The dental hygienists in the office are all extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They will give you great advice on keeping your teeth legit and seem to genuinely enjoy coming to work everyday. A serious step up from getting a guilt trip on flossing from some lady who smells like cigarettes and wants to tell you about her divorce no matter what. The office itself is well situated (King and Bathurst) and is very modern, clean and inviting. There are TVs in every room and all of the dental equipment is new and well maintained. The administrative staff are very helpful and will even send you reminders about upcoming appointments so you never forget. Dr. Hao told me once (again, lots of time spent in that chair) that he never cheaped out on any sort of equipment. Nice to hear. Overall, I can't recommend this office enough. So I've been to 720 King West Dental twice now and I just love it. Nerdy I know, but I've gotten back to actually getting excited to go to the dentist. I used to dread it. I read reviews on Dr. Hao's office online and decided that even if it took a bit to get in my first time it would be worth. I was completely right. The place is completely immaculate, TVs in each room (you get the remote), everyone is friendly and they move you through efficiently but you don't feel rushed. I've two differnent hygenists and both were very careful and really sweet. I feel like I'm in such good hands with Dr. Hao, he's very busy but takes the time to explain everything. They are high-tec as well, everything is done through computers from what I saw. Staff at the front desk is great too, very friendly and organized. They even have 6pm appointments if you can schedule in advance. Overall, great dental office! read more

I agree with all of the previous reviews - he's the best dentist I've ever had! The administrative staff is friendly and send appointment reminders via email. The hygienists are all professional, always tell you what they're doing, and take great care to stay gentle. But the biggest Kudos go to the man himself; Dr. Hao is amazingly thorough! He takes time to explain everything and will show you the xrays, etc. that he's monitoring. He's quite honest about your dental health as well, even if the news is less than ideal. And he's quick to send referrals if surgery is needed. It makes me want to floss every day. The only downfall is that it can be hard to get an appointment as he's so popular! As a former patient, it was the last straw for me to quit going to 720 Dental because of their capricious and arbitrary appointment / cancellation policy. Seems like somebody in "management" thinks it's a cute policy to make patients "Confirm" their appointments a week before they occur. This is new as I have been a patient for approx 3 years. I received a voice mail last week from one of the office staff who said that if I didn't confirm my appointment within the next hour, that I would lose my appointment time. Huh?! I make appointments with Doctors, lawyers and all kinds of other professionals and I have never been mildly threatened in this kind of manner. Quite a turn off and while the Dr is a good Dr, I won't be back. They can take their bureaucratic wacky policies and put them where the sun don't shine. I've got enough red tape from the government! I called this office to inquire about the services they had available for teeth whitening. Needless to say I made a decision to not use them nor will I ever consider using them for any other services. The girl who answered the phone was completely rude and each question I asked she gave me answers as though I was asking a stupid question. I was calling to find out the difference between the different styles of whitening-pros and cons and she basically laughed at me over the phone. I can't believe that Doctor would have someone so rude working for them-waste of money because I will never consider going there after being treated that way over the phone. Was looking forward to be a new patient but changed my mind because the call receptionist seems to have an attitude problem and is arrogant.

You couldn't ask for a better dentist. I started coming here in October as my teeth were in need of a lot of attention. I wanted a nice dentist that would be honest without being a jerk, and that would give me the best care but only recommend treatments that were necessary. Basically, I wanted top-notch treatment, but I didn't want to get shafted. My old dentist thought I was on a really, really tight budget because I was a student when I started seeing him. Sadly, after a couple of years, I got the feeling he often didn't recommend the best course of treatment, only what he thought I could afford. I'm not totally blameless in this (as I said, my teeth are rubbish), but I like it when people just level with me. Dr. Hao's staff are lovely (I actually sent a really pathetic and sad email in before I made any appointment and they gently coaxed me into booking myself in). They were also really, really nice when I cried on my first visit (I know, I know). Having been seven times since October, I think I've met each and every one of the staff at this point. They send reminders via email (the week before and the day before) and are always smiling and in a great mood. Not only that, but they're extremely helpful. If they can do something to make your life easier, they will. Dr. Hao himself is lovely. He's very down to earth and not at all intimidating. He chats away while he's working and he's always asking if you're okay (which he then apologises for, because he's worried he's annoying you!). I have had tons of dental work done in my long life and have been to numerous dentists in different cities. I'm very particular about dentists and don't usually like them. In Toronto I have been very lucky, however, to have Dr. Jermaine Hao as my dentist. I would describe Dr. Hao as good-humored, humble, and easygoing yet opinionated, knowledgeable, highly intelligent, and very serious. As a dentist, he is very confidence-inspiring. He does superb work and takes time to answer all your questions, even the ones you might be embarrassed to ask. Dr. Hao has an excellent team of skilled, friendly assistants and a comfortable office with ceiling-mounted TVs. Some of hygienists are absolutely amazing and top notch, others perfectly decent if not overwhelmingly wonderful. Overall the office has a very good vibe, and they don't tend to play the morality card with you if your teeth aren't 100% perfect, which I really appreciate! He explains every step and regularly asks if you are ok and if you have questions. He is a good teacher...thinks and talks fast but will slow down if necessary. I never get the feeling that he is inconvenienced by questions. In fact, he likes them. He has followed up visits with emails to check up on me (and after my first visit he sent me a list of all the work that needs to be done as well as the estimated cost for each).
