I've been searching for a while for an Invisalign specialist to get my teeth straight. I stumbled…read moreupon Dr. Kurtz and read reviews on him - all positive none negative. I decided to give it a try. And I am super glad I did. Dr. Kurtz was very informative and answered (still answers) all my questions regarding Invisalign and my treatment. The staff is also very courteous and friendly. For anyone deciding to get Invisalign - I'd recommend Dr. Kurtz 100%.

I rarely leave reviews, but after living with the results of my dental work for more than a decade,…read moreI feel I owe it to other patients to share my experience. In 2014, I went to Dr. Jeremy Kurtz after a serious childhood accident left my front teeth damaged. I was a very young woman, deeply insecure about my smile, and I placed complete trust in his professional advice. He presented me with two treatment options: crowns or a bridge. At the time, I didn't understand the long-term aesthetic or functional differences between them. I simply wanted a healthy, natural-looking smile and trusted his recommendation. Looking back, I don't feel I was given enough information to make a truly informed decision about a treatment that would permanently change my smile. Because I couldn't afford the treatment immediately, I spent months saving. During that time, my remaining front teeth were extracted and I wore a bulky temporary plastic appliance for approximately six months while waiting for my bridge. I trusted that this was the appropriate course of treatment because I relied entirely on my dentist's judgment. Looking back, I wish I had been informed that I should wait until my bridge placement is ready before agreeing to the extractions. When the bridge was finally placed, I was initially happy because it looked better than what I had before. But over time, I realized my relief had blinded me to the quality of the work. The bridge protruded noticeably, left me with a significant open bite, and lacked harmony and symmetry with my lower teeth. Instead of restoring my confidence, it left me hiding my smile for another decade. My greatest disappointment isn't just the appearance of the bridge. It's that I don't feel I was properly educated about my options, the limitations of the treatment I was choosing, or what the final result would realistically look like. As a young and vulnerable patient, I trusted that my dentist was giving me the best possible solution. I now believe I deserved much better guidance before committing to an irreversible treatment. I am currently undergoing a complete smile restoration elsewhere, and seeing what modern dentistry can achieve has made me realize just how much I settled for because I trusted the wrong person. This review isn't written out of spite. It's written to encourage anyone considering major restorative or cosmetic dental work to seek multiple opinions, ask detailed questions, and fully understand every option before making an irreversible decision. More importantly, it's to discourage anyone from ever seeking this type of treatment from Dr. Kurtz. Unsurprisingly, after completing my treatment, he transitioned to invisalign only. I sincerely hope my experience helps someone else avoid years of disappointment.

Dr. Allen was able to accommodate me the SAME DAY and had the problem fixed in no time and the cost for him to fix it for me was very reasonable. I remember every monthly appointment back then was always so pleasant and something that I looked forward to. Dr. Allen was always funny, kind and explained each and every procedure carefully. He has a special kind of empathy that is lacking in a lot of dentists/Orthodontists these days who are in it solely for the money. Today, I saw Dr. Allen as a bonding on the lingual wire came out after 15 years. He saw me on his first day back from vacation and he's the same Dr I remember him to be 15 years ago: kind, caring, and takes his time to explain everything. When he first saw me today, he remarked "your smile is gorgeous so whatever you're doing to preserve it, you're doing the right thing," to which I replied "this smile is great because of you." Although extremely busy, Dr. Allen took his time to re-cement my retainer. There needs to be more Drs like him out there. I would not hesitate to recommend this doctor: for his incredible orthodontic skills and for being just a fabulous human being. PS: his receptionist and assistant are extremely kind and pleasant.

Wow. How time flies! This review is gonna be somewhat of a blast to the past haha. We were…read morerecommended to Davis Orthodontics by our childhood dentist Dr. Applebaum. My brother and I were Dr Allan and Dr Kevin's patients back when we were teenagers. They were the nicest! We both got traditional braces at the time and now both as adults in our 30s our teeth are still straight as ever and super confident in our smiles! My parents told all their friends about how good the results were and how high their satisfaction was! Always loved this place. They had the most awesome customer appreciation days too (the booked out theater down on Yonge St to watch Shrek with free popcorn was one of my fondest memories as well as the one where they hired a magician). Also, when we went to our dentist sometimes you get the "fear" from having your teeth pulled out. Here, there's no such fear. We got to play xbox/playstation/gameboy while waiting for our appointments and the ortho assistants and hygienists are super friendly as well! If my kids ever need braces I know where I'm going!

I don't share the other reviewer's glowing comments. The longest Dr. Sky spent with me was during…read morethe initial new patient consultation. The plan, as per the initial consult and numerous e-mails back and forth prior to treatment, was to close a gap due to a missing molar. I paid $7,000 up front. I learned from personal experience that Dr. Sky takes a hands off approach to her patients. During my treatment, Dr. Sky was rarely in the office. The number of times I saw her, which I could probably count on one hand, was mainly for a few minutes before she rushed off. The work was performed by the dental hygienists or the resident dentist and Dr. Sky was not in the office to review their work. The one and only time she reviewed the hygienist's work was for the initial placement of the brackets. It was up to me to repeatedly communicate what the goal of treatment was because the staff didn't seem to know. Today, my front bottom teeth have gaps, where none existed before treatment. I have severe localized gum recession on one of the lower front teeth due to orthodontic forces and carelessness on the part of the hygienist. This one poor tooth was pulled and prodded with excessive force when removing a bracket and on a subsequent visit, when an archwire was placed. During this visit, I thought I was going to pass out from the pain. When I finally had enough and cried out that my lower front teeth were being pulled, the hygienist calmly replied: "I'm not pulling, I'm pushing!" She continued to apply enough force to partially detach the root from the tooth----this was confirmed to me by a periodontist. The pain I suffered and endured for weeks on end from this horrific event was unbelievable! Why a TAD was not considered or placed to close the gap for the missing tooth is anyone's guess. After a year and a half of treatment, the gap that was supposed to be closed is still wide open. I am worse off today than when I started. I now face very expensive gum flap or pinhole surgery, deep cleaning and regular periodontal visits. As a patient and a mom, would I bring my children to be treated by Dr. Sky Naslenas at Royal York Orthodontic Studio? Never!
