This business is run by a Scam artist, the whole neighborhood has known this for years. The people that are leaving good reviews, or either ignorant to the fact that they're being scammed or their friends. I found out the hard way. My car came back with several additional items, broken or bolt loosened, etc. They charged me. I found this auto center near my house, I went to have a rubber repaired (perforated tire, they charged me 25 dollars) when the most they charge for a plug is 10 dollars, they told me that they sell the tires and that is not the truth cease they buy them in another place and They were going to sell me some that are not suitable for my car, they were very expensive and charged the installation an extra 40 dollars each. Harry at 79th St. Auto Repair Center is kind, fair, and honest. Price for an oil change is great ($33), at least compared to what I'm used to in Colorado. Tiger, their feline friend will make sure to keep you company while you wait. I've been here twice for oil changes and didn't need to make an appointment but I imagine this place could get busy on weekends. I just had to have 3 engine mounts and some other small parts replaced (poor Jeep is getting old) and they were honest in telling me that the parts they received were defective so my car wouldn't be ready until the next day. They then bought the parts from the manufacturer, which I was trying to avoid because it was more expensive. They didn't charge me extra for the new parts because they felt bad that my car would take an extra day. Very kind, honest, hard-working people. read more

STAY WAY FROM THIS PLACE! We took our car here thinking it was going to be better than taking to the dealership and OH BOY WAS I WRONG! They ended up taking to dealership themselves but they did charge as if they did they heavy job. We found out the car was at the dealership TWO WEEKS LATER it was already there. Every time we called asking about the car there was a different excuse, it ended up staying with them for 3 months. Wow, where to begin...Harry is such a fun, knowledgeable guy, and best of all...HONEST. I took my car to the dealership for maintenance and was slapped with an $800 estimate, very different from my initial $275 estimate two hours prior. They told me that the additional services were critical and if I did not have them done, I would be sorry. Since I wasn't willing to plop almost $1,000 on a single day (I am no Lindsay Lohan), I paid for the services they had initially quoted me and against their advice, decided I would hold off and get an estimate on what they said was "critical" elsewhere, since it seemed steep. Now, I am glad I did. Harry not only told me that the price they quoted me was excessive, but that the "critical, life or death" services did not need to be done for another 2-3 months. Seriously, what kind of mechanic would not take advantage of you when they have the chance to get your $$ and tell you it's critical that you do this once they have you trapped at their shop?? The answer: Harry. They call him Harry the Greek but I think Honest Harry fits him to a tee. Wow, I have never seen an honest mechanic, I thought the mere pairing of those two words was an oxymoron! He services everything, from domestics to imports, and services the North Bay Village police department, the water department, as well as a few local celebrities' and rock stars' luxury vehicles. The rest of his staff are also very knowledgeable and friendly. Harry took the time to explain to me how a car works, the parts, and what happens if you don't replace them, so I got a quick, crash course in the process of being told my car was fine. It's not hard to see why celebrities trust him with their cars; he does an excellent job at a very competitive price and he won't tell you to do something unless your car really needs it. I highly recommend him and will be back in 3 months for routine maintenance on those "critical" issues (and no, I did not get paid to write this review nor was I somehow forced to do it, I really feel these guys are awesome and that I should share my experience with the world)! read more

The guy told me my car needed breaks (front and rear), rotors and something else, totaling around $800. I said thank you for letting me know. My 2008 Jeep Wrangler broke down in the middle of North Bay Village early on Sunday night. I am very cautious when it comes to my Jeep and mechanical concerns . By trade, I am a skeptic. It took me some help from my friends, many recommendations to many mechanics, and then one leap of faith and a final call to Harry ( a local automotive legend) at 79th ST Auto Center in Miami. After several calls to Harry, I felt comfortable leaving my Wrangler in his care, and more importantly, very happy with the fair and very reasonable price he gave me to replace my clutch on my Jeep. Still, the proof would be in the pudding, and I wanted my Wrangler, "Betsy La Loca" back up healthy, and running. A few days later, I went to pick up my Jeep, and realized that it the clutch glided into gear like a butter knife into a warm stick of butter. Smooth. Harry not only replaced it but made it much better. My experience at Harry's has been nothing short of superb, and excellent. Went here because I had a nail in my tire. I was seen by Ariel. He stopped everything he was doing, patched my tires, fixed the pressure in the other tires and all for $10. I didn't realize I had no cash on me so I asked him if he trusted me to go to the ATM and come back. Without hesitation he said "sure no problem." I returned and gave him $20 and insisted he keep the change. I'm a firm believer of great customer service should be rewarded. You rarely see this type of service here in Miami. I grew up in Boston where back in the day you get gas and they pump for you for the same price as if you were pumping it yourself. They then wash windows and if it's snowing, they take the snow off your windows. This reminded me of that type of service. Except the snow of course.. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. These guys were legit. They fixed my flat in about 30 mins even in the rain. I drive a C300 with run flats and like a typical woman had no clue what that meant. Does the tire re-inflate itself? Does the car drive itself to the nearest Mercedes dealer? The answer is neither. Which scared me to death; I know d*ck about cars and it doesn't help that I look it. What was this going to cost? This alleged run flat tire which really just means I have about 50 miles before I'm stranded is useless to me since calling the dealer meant replacing the tire. I panicked since I really wanted to keep my hundreds of dollars, which brought me to Yelp. I found these guys and despite these dodos who advised against them in other reviews, they took care of me for a whopping $20. No bullsh*t. No frills they patched me right up. You come to this place to spend $20 and get your whip fixed by some guys who know cars. They're not gonna offer you cookies or coffee or really even look at your face. If they don't tell you the price you're probably better off. I was more than pleasantly surprised. Please don't spoil it for the rest of us with your customer service complaints or if you want the a/c colder. Let these dudes do what they do, they're perfect just the way they are. read more

Anyone having anything bad to say about Harry and his team either works for the competition or did not understand what these guys said to them which seems strange because Harry specifically is very detailed and takes time to educate his customers. I found out about this place because I drove a friend there to drop off her car. I had a nail sitting in my tire for a few months and I was constantly putting air in because I was told by a tire place I needed all 4 of my tires replaced at $125 a piece. I asked Harry how much it would cost me to replace my tires, he took a look gave a hearty giggle and said, "I'll take that nail out and patch the hole but you don't need tires. You can drive to New York and back and still not need tires". Then he proceeded to show me how to determine when it's time to really change them. I was so impressed (and I have two good mechanics on speed dial) that when I needed my car to be looked at before a 560 mile drive last week, I took it to Harry instead of my guys because he inspires more trust on details. I will let my guys do oil changes and top off fluids but from now on, for tire rotation to tune ups it's going to be Harry, plus who doesn't like a mechanic with a college degree, who's lived all over the world and speaks 8 languages???? Dreadfully, I took my my Saturn Vue in to get some work done on it. It was late in the day and was worried that they weren't going to be able to look at it was almost closing time. Not the case. They ended up takin care of the car that same day and this ended being my best mechanic experience ever. The main guy, a Greek man (I forgot his name), made sure that I knew exactly what was wrong with my car. He went into so much detail that I even thought at one point, "Hey, I could probably fix this myself!" Since I don't have any mechanic skills what so ever, I went ahead and let them do what they do best. They ordered the part I needed and I was out of there within 2 hours. The best part was that I even got a discount for paying with cash. I highly recommend this place. read more
