Gabriel, who runs the desk when you arrive, is super professional and friendly. Recently, we had to bring in our G-wagon because of metal noises that did not sound normal. It turned out the truck needed two new front shocks. This experience turned out to be devastating for us. We had to take in the bad news about my husband's car, which had a braking system issue, and they declined to do any repairs. They told us to get a new car, saying it wasn't worth it for our town to take the car with issues over there, as nobody would take things seriously to make the customer happy with their vehicle. I can say it sucks, and I would go somewhere else for better, more reliable service, and a willingness to find a solution for our car. It kills me to see my husband being emotionally upset and mad at the same time about the situation. At the end of the day, it's going to take a long while to get over the shock of knowing some mechanics wouldn't want to help find other options to resolve the situation for the vehicle instead of telling us it's time to get a new one. read more

This was my first time stopping in here to get my oil changed along with some minor vehicle maintenance. It was well worth the trip and the wait time was much shorter than expected. It's definitely my new go to spot for getting my car worked on. I thought it would be overly priced since it's on the beach and that wasn't the case here. It's located right next to the Sunset Harbor mall with street parking or you can simply park by the garage if there's room. Once I walked in I was greeted by a man working the front desk named Gary I think? He was very friendly, attentive, and even gave me paper along with a clipboard to get some work done while I was waiting. I was told it would be three hours and it ended up only taking a little over an hour. I had an oil change, wipers replaced, fluids topped off, and everything else checked out with the price being very reasonable which made my day. They have a tv and comfortable chairs in the waiting room even though I was getting work done. For locals here on the beach I highly recommend coming here for vehicle maintenance. Today was the first time I departed from the practice of servicing all my cars at the respective dealerships. My purpose isn't to diminish the dealership service, it is to save you money and get the same certified mechanic service. My neighbor has been using Larry's for years and finally I decided to go to Larry's today to service my car and my daughter's car. I was treated like a king, felt I was dealing with honorable professionals and went to one of the local neighborhood spots for breakfast with my daughter. Our cars were serviced and ready after our breakfast and we paid for two cars what the dealership charge would have been for one car. This review includes several repairs that had to be performed on my Lexus RX400h. Initially, I went into Larry's because my car was running hot. The radiator fan motor was bad and had to be changed. After the change, the mechanics at Larry's said the car was initially staying cool, but any effort made by the car and the temperature was rising again. Because the car is a hybrid, Gary, the manager, said he recommended that this repair be done at Lexus. He called ahead to the Lexus repair show to let them know he was sending one of his customers in. After Lexus did their mechanical analysis of my car, Gary took a look at the Lexus dealer's list of repairs and said I should ONLY get the cooling system repairs performed, the other things they would take care of at Larry's. Lexus did a great job and got me back on the road. I brought the car back to Larry's Service Center and completed the other repairs. This time the valve gaskets needed to be changed and a few other things. The work was done within 24 hours, including changing my tires and giving it a general tune up. It's nice to know that these guys know cars so well, they realize when you need the "factory" to repair something and when they can do the repairs themselves. Seeing all of the custom cars they are building in their shop, they're certainly capable of building a car from scratch. And, it's great knowing I have these guys as my own personal pit-crew. on a family trip from Cape Coral my Subaru's dash board light up like a Christmas tree every electronic device went crazy. Gas gauge went to empty, cruise control stopped working, engine light, brake light, everything came in or off. Somehow made it to our hotel. Next morning started the process of finding a garage. By chance I drove to Larry's auto. This had to be Devine guidance. I showed up with no appointment told them what was happening and left the car. I call later that day expecting the worse. They reset the electronics and found no issues. I have since driven back to Cape Coral and up and back to Orlando with no further issues. The total cost was no charge. This garage was a god send. I moved from Connecticut about a year ago, so I don't know many places around Miami yet. Its true that the place was very packed, my point of view there's way more cars there than can handle. My Mercedes was sitting there for two days and a half for ''DIAGNOSTICS'', which they didn't do it well, apparently they couldn't find any thing. My car has died every other day, as it did from the garage to my way home about 1.5 miles. The brakes are still kicking back every time I brake, which they said they did a ""road test"" and didn't notice anything.... The door actuator needs to be replaced, I'm a Realtor and contractor and I can figurate that without diagnostic test (what secret there's on a car door lock?!?!?) I'm curioso to find out TWO things: What's going to be the diagnostics on the other place..... What's going to be Larry's explanation for this here, because in person he couldn't do it. When heading to an auto repair shop, there is usually a sense of dread that overcomes me. I'm not a car person, nor do I understand the mechanics or prices of car services. Recently, I had to get 3 tires replaced, which I knew was going to be expensive. I realized I was about to drop some serious cash on my car, and I wanted to go somewhere where I would not be taken advantage of. This is where Larry's Auto Service Center steps in. I read really good reviews on Yelp, and I was hoping that I would receive the same good service I saw other yelpers experience. I arrived to Larry's bright and early at 8am when it first opened to drop off my car. I was warmly greeted by the manager Gary. He didn't have the tires I wanted in stock, but he was going to order them and give me a call when he got them. My car had to stay overnight before they were able to install the new tires, but I knew my car was in good hands. When I went to pick up my car, Gary even gave me a 10% discount just because! He was always very happy, kind, and straightforward with me. When I got my car back, I was really happy with the service that I had received. I honestly trust this place and I was only there for 10 minutes. My check engine light came on, and I just wanted to get it checked out. Full of dread, I went to the nearest mechanic shop and luckily for me, this was it. One of the dudes stopped what he was doing and let me pull my car right in, and checked it out with an OBD2 scanner. Luckily it was nothing - the gas cap wasnt all the way tightened lol. But he also noticed my tire pressure light was on, and put some air in my tires, all for free. I honestly believe these guys are good people. Unlike common conceptions of mechanics. For anyone in the area.... just an FYI prior to finding Larry's I went to Tire Choice - Goodyear in their attempt to force me into buying two tires saying the leak was near the sidewall and could be dangerous... which it wasn't, I plugged it myself. I called them on that lie and they said I was right, they just won't patch tires that were plugged. Picked up the car, took it to Larry's where a simple tire patch was done for $35 in an hour as opposed to being forced into purchasing two tires by Tire Choice. So then I took my other car over to Larry's for a new battery same day. They work on high end cars too so that's a plus. read more

I recently moved to the mid-beach area to develop my personal training business. Unfortunately not long after moving here my otherwise reliable old Honda Civic started having a couple problems. Took her to a local Honda dealer and had too many bad experiences. When she started overheating I needed to find a trusted mechanic shop on the beach. I initially read through the reviews for Larry's and saw a couple bad reviews that gave me trepidation. Nonetheless I decided to give Larry's a chance. To say they went above and beyond is an understatement. I never mentioned my brakes, but knew it was time for them to be replaced. They gave my car an inspection and recommended I change the brakes. The Honda dealer damaged my wheel locks and lugs. Larry's fixed that as well. They resolved my overheating issue as well as a suspension issue I forgot I even mentioned. They did all this for me and charged me FAR less that what the dealer would charge. When I was picking up my car and paying at the cashier, I vaguely overheard a conversation between one of the techs and possibly a manager regarding his attempts to fix another customer's car issue at the most amicable rate in an effort to help the customer. This goes entirely against the cliched perception many have regarding mechanic shops. I'm still struggling to build my own business but I owe these guys some pizza and beer. When i picked it up, it showed up an alarm stating that my motor was broken and needed service. I had to take it back to the same people, explaining this happened directly in their service center and asked them to check it. Suddenly, the day after, I received a call from them saying that I had to change two spark plugs (total of $1,200). They also told me that I needed to change the brakes and air filter. I asked them if that would solve the problem, and their answer was that "of course they are professionals". "Of course" I received a call the same afternoon explaining that unfortunately it was something else and that I needed to change the commutator and it will be an additional $2,500 for a total of $3,700!!!. Solution:I decided to take my car to a serious service center. Please do not trust the reviews!!! They are done by the same people working in the service center or their family & friends.
