I hosted my husband's 40th here May 2, 2026. Melanie was a pleasure to work with and ironing out details. We had a Casino Royale theme with casino tables upstairs, caterer and photographer downstairs. It was nice because this venue comes with a DJ, security and bar. There is a parking lot across the street that only charges $10. It doesn't need decorations so it's a one stop shop. While we did have some hiccups day of, they were resolved and the owner was very receptive to the feedback. I would recommend this place and absolutely book here again if I were to host an event. read more

I went to a 75th birthday party for a barber at Parliament on Friday, March 27. This happens to be a great venue. The first thing I had when I arrived with a glass of water and a Cuba libre, basically a rum and Coke with a twist of lime. Our drinks came up quick and they were delicious. The service was great. This is a nice spot. I hadn't been here since they had changed his name. It used to be a different club here, but I have to say the place is very nice. They have big giant TV screens and it looks very festive in there. It's very clean. The restrooms are clean and it just happens that it's accessible if you happen to need an accessible location.. They had a food truck outside that served delicious food and there was plenty of space in a DJ. I have to say I'd be happy to go here again. There was parking right across the street. It was free and there was a security guard there at the lot. here again anytime and I'd highly recommend it. If you want to give an event there they would accommodate you. read more

811 Parliment in Oakland is a hidden gem. You walk into the space and the decorations and layout are beautiful. The bar is stunning with a beautiful lit backdrop. They have chandeliers hanging from the high ceiling, which give it a luxury type of feeling. The space is perfect for an intimate event or party of any kind. The bathrooms were clean and well maintained. I will definitely return here with friends and family. I would also consider it to have an event. read more

Parliaments the BEST! I've been meaning to write this review for a minute! I can't say enough good things about 811 Parliament. My friend and I rented the whole place out and cohosted our 40th birthday and it was EVERYTHING! Everyone who works there is amazingly kind and helpful. They took care of everything; drinks, lights, audio/visual, helped set up black lights we brought. We also brought our own food in and hired DJs and had the most epic reasonable timed dance party (6-10 pm with it opening to the public at 10). We had about 75-100 people there comfortably and the cost was very reasonable. Martin, the owner is incredibly accommodating and kind. Melanie was so proactive, helpful, and responsive while planning. By the end of the evening it was like we were one big family. A truly epic night that I'll never forget! One of my favorite venues to host an event, no matter how many guests I'm expecting they got us covered! Parliament and their entire staff always takes care of everything; from the initial inquiry to closing out my tab at the end of the event, they are professional, accommodating and courteous. When you walk up to Parliament you know you're about to walk into a nice space, from the red lights outside, to the privacy curtain at the door, to the mirrors and lights inside, to the stools and banquets in the sections, to the VIP area upstairs, to the clean restrooms, to the stocked bar... so nice! Highlight, parking is easy over there! Plenty is street parking all around and there's even a parking lot around the corner. Love Parliament! Great venue for hosting events. I've celebrated several birthdays here and the staff has always been kind and accommodating to my needs, including setting up karaoke as well as bringing in my own catering. I was super stoked to go to this spot this past Friday night with friends. I've seen posts on IG & a ton of great marketing for Parliament. To my surprise, it wasn't as great as I thought it would be. The drinks were not only overpriced, they also tasted hella watered down. I kid you not, I had five sips of my $13 drink and it was already gone. The ice took up 90% of the actual drink, hence why it only took five sips for it to be done. The service was alright and the ambiance was solid... but definitely hyped up more than what is actually there. There is also a three drink minimum per table. I don't know if they're trying to make up cost for what they didn't make during Covid, but this definitely isn't the way to go about it. When people go out they expect to have a good time and enjoy GOOD drinks. Although Parlament might be the place to have a good time with the right people for the ambience, the drinks are definitely not at the front line of that fight... which is totally unexpected because this is a bar spot. The music was a plus. Servers were ehhh. There is also an automatic gratitude fee added on to all orders, it looks like it's about 18% of the total. Overall wouldn't go again. read more

Stopped in here cause Lexx Jones had a DJ set. The vibes were unmatched!!! It was a melting pot of culture and ppl. Bartenders were friendly, quick && efficient! The music was top Tier. I ended up stopping back here the following weekend they had a Beyoncé night and I absolutely loved it!! Felt safe and had a great time! I like the outdoor area that has been added since Covid. I also really love that they serve hookah because it's hard to find a nice spot that plays good music. The wait staff is awesome, but the security is not so great--hence the lack of stars I've left on this review. Why have a security guard that has an attitude and is hostile toward women and would provoke (God forbid) a person to react negatively? I felt really awful from my interaction with security this evening, so the next time I'm invited to an outing I will be suggesting another place. I'd prefer to spend my money elsewhere, where I'm not treated poorly by staff for no reason. I came here on Sunday evening to meet up with my boyfriend and our friends. I had to pee really bad, so I went up to the door a bit before they announced they were closing. I asked the security guard if I could use the restroom and he said no, as they were closing, which made sense to me. I said ok, then walked back to my table. My bf suggested I try to see if I could use the restroom at District, so I got up again to see if they were open, which they weren't. So at that point I walked around the corner to see if I could pop a squat (I know, EW!) in the parking lot. There were a lot of people in the lot, so I walked back. When I got back to Parliament I noticed that there were people lined up outside to use the restroom. I ask the same security guard if the restroom was now open, and he said yes. I then asked him why it was open and now and not 10 minutes prior when I first inquired and told him about how I've been holding my pee for at least 20 minutes, to that which he said, "I don't give a fuck." At that point, I wanted to shrug it off since I was in line, but he then pulled down his mask to reveal the snarl upon his face and said, "You're lucky I'm letting you use the bathroom now." Why be super rude and hostile toward a customer who is JUST trying to use the restroom? I thought that security guards were hired to keep people safe, not to provoke hostile situations. Needless to say, I felt and still feel uncomfortable about that interaction. I have no desire to visit or spend money at a business where this level of disrespect toward patrons is acceptable. read more

I'm really sad and surprised about the recent reviews written about Parliament. Each time I've gone here, I've had an awesome time. The servers and bouncers and everyone else from this establishment that I've encountered have been really accommodating and respectful. I'm disappointed that not everyone has had the same experience. I've been going to Parliament for years now. Pre-covid, this was the spot for Hello Weekend and First Fridays. We'd start off with the bars and clubs on Telegraph then end the night at Parliament, provided we were not too wasted. I've made a few connections here, including DJ Boogie Brown who has even worked with us one time for an event we had. Post-covid (can we say that yet?), they've created a parklet for outdoor seating and let me just say that I love it! They've got hella good vibes going on from Friday's to Sunday's, with flowing drinks, awesome music (keep playing African music please! We love to hear it!), good food, and hookah! They've got outdoor heaters to keep us warm but to be honest, the cold isn't that bad when you mix drinking and dancing. The party doesn't really end until about 11pm so come on thru and give Parliament a chance! read more

The manager here was so extremely rude and aggressive to a group of my friends and I. We were uninformed about the 2 hour limit at tables and ordered drinks at two hour mark. We were then told to down the drinks or plainly leave. We were called out of our name and he removed his mask in our faces to do so. I'm absolutely never returning to this establishment as a black woman and I suggest people move accordingly. This establishment serves 90% black people but have the nerve to speak to customers like our money means nothing to them. read more

This place opened up on New Year's Eve and so far so good. It's open for happy hour 4 to 8:30pm on weekdays and opens up with a club vibe after 8:30 on weekends. It has a good décor with a bar that changes colored lights (who needs the bay bridge). There's a full bar with a good whiskey selection. I recommend the Crater Lake Rye which was $7 per shot (not sure if that was a happy hour price or not). They have a small bar bite menu of different grilled Panini-like sandwiches. They're all pretty tasty and only $5 each. I like the vibe of this place. Shoutout to the owner Chris and bartender Shannon. Least the few times I've been there the music has been solid with different 80's and 90's hip hop and r&b music playing. Check it out! read more

Disclaimer: This is my first time here at this club/lounge. Im from Texas, spending time out here with some friends. This place was TRASHHHH. For starters, you have to buy two drinks per person when sitting at a table. This may not be a problem for some but *My party* was not informed until after we sat down and bought hookah. The two drinks are Limited to alcoholic beverages or one alcohol beverage and one Fiji water/soda. Hookah was $45. There was a cover charge to get inside as well. Service was not that good, took forever to be attended too. The DJ was mid. Overall not worth the money for the experience! read more

I have been here a handful of times and every single time, I try really hard to like this place. I love me some Old Oakland and some of the other spots around like: District, Liege, and Air Lounge. All the times that I have been here, have been not at all impressive. First off, their bartenders and drinks are terrible. I have ordered traditional drinks like Moscow Mule or Tequila Sunrise that have tasted like not one ingredient used to make the drinks. I have also tried standards like ginger beer and bourbon or jack and coke. Every time, they are dissatisfying: too sweet, too strong, too much ice. And at $10-12 per drink, I would rather go next door to any of the other spots around. Now onto the space...first favorite part is the DJ booth set up and their pretty impressive speaker system. I'm an audiophile so this matters. To their credit, I do hear pretty good music when I have been here both during the week and on weekends. However, the place seems to be going for a club/lounge feel with no real room for dancing. The biggest negative is that you have two single bathrooms for the whole spot AND (here is the kicker) they are in the middle of the dance floor!! Several months back, when I was coming in someone had just taken a crap in the bathroom and I could literally smell it while I was making my way upstairs to meet some friends. Completely not classy. If you come here and need to go, expect to wait in a huge line for the restrooms. Due to its location, I really hope Parliament can get a cocktail menu and better bartenders together. Maybe then the bathroom oddity might be easier to forgive after a few good drinks and some better music. read more

Been here 3 times to this venue and there will definitely be more visits this year. Parliament always has a great energy to it and the DJ puts on a good set. There's two floors with the top floor having a section roped off for table service. The bottom floor obviously has the bar. Wait times for drinks aren't that bad, especially considering how packed it can get at Parliament. Bathroom lines do get long however. I came here Friday Night and realized the next night that I misplaced by credit card. I texted the number listed on yelp and Melanie quickly responded to my inquiry on whether or not I left my credit card there. That saved me from making an unnecessary trip to Oakland just to physically ask. If you've ever forgotten an item at a club then you KNOOOOOOOW how hard it is to reach a live person to check. I hosted my 30th birthday party here a couple weeks ago. I decided to do the full buy out option, and had a private event for just my own guests all night! I am so glad I did this! Melanie, Jason, security, bartenders and the entire staff were amazing! Overall a great local club. I was just bummed, because my friends weren't ready before 10:30pm, which is when the guest list closes. We went what could have been a $5 cover charge to paying $20 each!!!! Ahhhhh!!!! Since I read up on other Yelp reviews and was educated about the single ladies bathroom in the club, once I felt a little I'm gonna have to go, I walked straight to the bathroom line. Thank you to that Yelper out there who saved me. I also made sure to not drink a lot for that reason alone. Everyone was so nice, no crazy drama. Good music bumping through out the night. I did have a issue with how hot it was, OMG!!! Dripping in sweat. I've come to Parliament a couple times before and always had a good time. This past weekend for my birthday we went on a Saturday night for R&B night and all of my friends got drinks from the bar, one friend just got soda water(club soda). Monday we all fell very very sick. All of these friends had the same symptoms, viral infection symptoms. We all first thought we had COVID but I went to the ER and they ruled that out and suggested that it was bacterial or viral. I'm assuming since the only thing we all had in common was drinking from the bar the glasses were not sanitary. security is rude and does their best to make sure you never want to come back. we get there after 10. pay the cover leave and come back. they tell us no ins and outs when we get back. that's cool we'll wait in line and pay again. but the bouncer took us out of line and told us we couldn't go in. no explanation besides no ins and outs. completely threw our night off. we weren't being loud or rude and just trying to understand why we weren't being let back in. idk hopefully other people have better experiences. read more
