They may not have everything you want, or sometimes when you go in, they may not have anything you want, but if they can get it ordered for you, they will. I have been coming up this mountain for about 35 years, & I have been going into Flair for probably just as long. When I walk in & I see Dana there, I know she'll always put a smile on your face, & she will go out of her way to find you or get you what you're looking for. Everyone behind that counter is the same way. When we moved up here my husband was not familiar with the area as I was & one of the first things I told him when we were talking about the go to places I told him anytime we need something for the house we always go to Flair first & then I showed him where it was. Yes there are other hardware stores up & down 739 that you can go to & pretty much know that they will have what you need but you'll never get the personal attention that you get when you walk into Flair so thank you guys for always being there & I hope for as long as I am living here you will continue to be there!

Frank was good at replying text, phone and email. This is more laid back construction biz atmosphere, pick up from trucking trailers in a truck yard. You pay Frank on his phone with c-card and go on your way. Loading and transport are DIY. Our UHaul trailer was more than big enough for 2 fiberglass patio door units, and 2 fiberglass entry door units. Gas plus $30 UHaul (+$8 added insurance), and 4h driving. All worth it for the huge savings! Got Therma-Tru and MMI doors, both brands offered by our building supplier at more than twice the cost! We were able to pick out what we wanted from the website, sent item numbers to Frank, and set an appointment to pick up. Took a look at some other items like tubs, foam insulation, and flooring while there. Extremely good deals! Most items are returns or closeouts in great condition. Some items on the website had minor damage, but it is all noted, and reflected in steep discounts. Our doors look awesome and are exactly what we needed! Could not have found a better deal and I thoroughly scoured 5 states (PA, NJ, DE, NY, MD) for the best brands, in my top material choice (fiberglass), at the BEST deal! Thank you, Frank!

The quality of lumber is woeful, #3 and worse at the big brand stores. Sales staff are terrible and lack knowledgeable people. One day I stopped in to Wyde lumberyard and was treated very respectfully and welcoming. Since then I always choose Wyde lumber as the quality is top notch and there is always a plentiful supply of #1 grade lumber in all dimensions. I would recommend this company wholeheartedly, shop with confidence as I have for 18 years.

Upon trying to fill the order 9 days later, a very rude counter person said the cost went up on materials and whatever the estimate I had in my hand said, the new price was " at least doubled". I explained to him that the nice gentleman who wrote the estimate said it was good for 30 days and it was printed on the estimate. He scowled at me and said there would be no returns as well and that he wouldn't deliver even locally. I also explained that the $5,000 + estimate included delivery as per the gentleman I spoke to originally. Again he scowled at me and rudely told me to go to Fallsburg lumber. 3 people on line behind me said screw this place and said to me "I'll see you at Fallsburg lumber". Is Wyde Lumber really that independently wealthy that they can falsely print estimate expirations and speak rudely and in a demeaning fashion When asked why in front of their other customers? Worst business experience I ever had! I was mortified and made to feel like a pariah in front of fellow tradesmen and home owners who probably could have been future customers of mine. Wyde Lumber in Monticello is a bit of a drive but the owners are incredibly helpful and also gay friendly. Home Depot in Honesdale is good too.
