I was in town for a work trip. I will say its a cool vibe, but the food definitely was lacking. Anytime you can get a PB Burger, I think you should go for it. We stopped in for lunch while passing through the area. This is a quaint little neighborhood bar. Nothing fancy, but clean and welcoming. Our Bartender Alyssa A, was very friendly and helpful. She made us feel right at home. We both ordered the Pump Up the Jam featured buger. It was AMAZING. One of the best bugers we have ever had. We will definitely go back again. read more

I stopped in to check this place out on a recent visit to Winona. It was a little bit dark and loud but not overwhelmingly so. I found a spot at the bar and ordered the mimosa to start. I then opted to try their hamburger and fries. The hamburger was excellent. It was cooked to perfection and went well with the second drink I ordered: The Mrs Sippi raspberry ale from a local brewery. I highly recommend it. I was not a fan of the fries. They were overcooked and just not very good. If I went back I would definitely go with a different side. The service was a little bit slow but everyone was super nice and friendly. If I lived in the area, I think I would come here often because I genuinely had a nice time. read more

Nice neighborhood bar. Good selection of beer on tap, above average burgers and great fries. Kitchen is small so if arriving with a large group patience is needed. On my Mc 929 - their take on a Big Mac, the onions were pretty powerful and the sauce a bit heavy so the burger itself got lost a bit and came apart before I could finish. Owner is a dick to his customers. Literally saw him kicked out a customer for being "drunk" When he only had two beers. An older couple came in later and was having difficulty figuring out what they want to eat and he was visibly agitated and frustrated with them and was rushing/pressuring them to order because it was busy. An owner who doesn't take care of his customers and kick them out for nothing isn't somebody who should be running a restaurant! He's also very short and rude to his staff. Would not recommend giving this guy any of your business or your money! read more

They only serve food on breakfast and lunch menu. If you need to fill your stomach with food not beer, go find somewhere else. BTW, they don't serve tap water. You have to buy bottled water. read more

Saw the great reviews for this tavern that was pretty close to our hotel in Winona so we drove over for dinner. It is tucked away in a neighborhood in the midst of houses - guess zoning is pretty loose here. They have a small side patio that we opted to dine on. The inside was fine but it was a lovely evening so why sit indoors... The friendly waitress grabbed us a couple of beers and then we ordered our mains. My wife got the BLT which she said was very good. I ordered the 1/2 pound of boneless wings which were also very good but a very small serving for the price (yes I know everything has gone up but still..). When I saw the small size of the wing order I immediately ordered some of their mini corn dogs (an appetizer). They were quite good and a reasonable serving for the price. If we were back in town I would probably check out some other places - it wasn't bad but not as great as some of the reviews lead you to believe. read more

I absolutely love this place. I come here with my grandma sometimes and lemme tell ya, the food is amazing, the service is great, and it's got a nice industrial feel without going overboard. Cheeseburgers here are astoundingly good. The fries, well seasoned and battered, are thrown into simmering oil and fried to perfection. My taste buds were transported to a place of unique spices and flavor found nowhere else nearby. The wait staff are kind, compassionate, and very friendly. Plenty of good vibes to go around! Decided to give this pub a try. Service was excellent, but that was about it. Hubby had a burger with an egg on it and I had the Paul Bunyan...burger with pepper Jack cheese, maple syrup grilled onions and bacon on Texas toast. Well, the bread was hard and dry on the corners, the cheese was definitely NOT pepper Jack...more of a gooey American white cheese that you get at Subway, couldn't taste any maple syrup at all, and the bacon was like gross...hard and cold. Should have sent it back, but just noshed for a minute and then tried the fries. Wow! Seriously disgusted...l what looked like crispy fires was actually hard or limpy fries that bent over when you picked them up. This meal was served at like 3:00 so no one was hardly there. $39.00 later and I paid the bill and high tailed it out of there. Definitely skip this place...doesn't deserve the 4.1 star review. Had better burgers at McDonald's. read more

My wife and I came to visit our son who was working in the area. He suggested it as a place to have lunch and a beer. We walked in and immediately felt like we had been coming for years. The owners were on site and very attentive. I had a burger and fries and my wife had a fish sandwich and fries. Both meals were amazing!! The hand cut fries and hand made burger were some of the best I've ever had. We had a couple of beers that were recommended by the owners and they were dead on with their suggestions based on the description of our preferences. It is a neighborhood establishment that sets a high standard. We loved it!! read more

We stopped in here to meet up with some family as we passed through town. They had a nice selection of craft beer on tap. The bartender was very knowledgeable about the beer which I enjoyed the conversation. Was a cool small town bar for a good cold craft beer. Looked like food was good, but we didn't eat! It's rare that I give negative reviews. And maybe it was just a bad experience... but it took 90 minutes for us to get 5 burgers and fries. The wrong food was delivered twice. My breakfast burger had no bacon. Service was slow. Tickets wrong. Just a bad experience overall. read more

Found this little gem in a neighborhood because if Yelp. Great local beers on tap. They definitely recently remodeled as everything looked new and decor was great for a sports bar. Waitress was thorough efficient and very responsive. Water with a lemon no problem; little surprised it was a bottled water but loved it. Perhaps offering a glass would also have been good. Our table tried a variety of burgers which we were all pleased with although we somehow missed the cheeseburgers are exactly that cheese and burger, so if you want any veggies order Cali style to get lettuce and tomato. Fries were excellent, as well as the small salad which we ordered with the burger. Buns are from a local bakery and delicious. They even had local brews on tap and cheese curds which we enjoyed trying since we're from out of state. So looking for relaxed atmosphere check it out, but be patient they are definitely in no hurry to get your food out. read more

Back story: We just renewed our licenses to get the new special star for TSA. The Minnesota DMV stated as long as we had our voided license with the printed paper given to us with all the new license information, it would count for a temporary until we received our new licenses. We go to check out and the an older gentleman says can I see an ID? My boyfriend says sure no problem and hands him his voided license. The gentleman looks at it and back at my boyfriend then says dude are you kidding me? My boyfriend explains the whole license renewal story and how he has the paperwork from the DMV to go with it. The gentleman says this isn't valid you can fake this. He goes into a story about how he had a 19 year old come in with ONLY the paper print off and the gentlemen sold him alcohol. Since that happened with that customer he then starts accusing us of having fake IDs. We state yet again it's a legal document the DMV gave us. The gentleman states again it's not valid and tries to pull up the fake form online. Now I know every store has the right to refuse service. We would've had no problem taking our business elsewhere if this gentleman was that nervous about excepting that form of ID. But do NOT accuse us of forging government documents. That was unacceptable service. For myself and other customers I would recommend shopping at other liquor stores from now on.

Bathrooms was super nice for a rock club, the sound was good, the vibe was good, and the people were super kind! Bland food & the living dead service. 2 of our group got sick from the food within the hour. Our best guess was from rancid condiments, or unsafe kitchen practices. Slow lazy staff is apparently not up on cleaning practices during covid. Takes forever to get service then gross burnt eggs, an undercooked burger & a shoe leather burger were our reward. WOULD GIVE A NO STAR RATING IF POSSIBLE. PTOMAINE POISONING HEAVEN. Doubt it will improve based on the mouthy replies they give to anyone that dares to review them truthfully. They don't seem to want to improve they just seem to want to put unhappy patrons in their places. A truthful rating is a negative 2. The owners should try a different career since they are not people friendly. The infamous Witoka tavern owner is friendlier. read more

It's hard to find a place that serves as good of a breakfast as this place does and for a low price, and I am very picky when it comes to eating out for breakfast!! I didn't even like bloodys UNTIL I tried the ones at 929, great to sip on while waiting for breakfast! The burgers are fresh and the fries are home cut! The best burgers in town! Bartenders and cooks are extremely friendly and if the owners are there they are welcoming, hilarious and always make a point to introduce themselves and see how you're doing! read more

They were deliciously crispy, like I have had before, but these also came with grapes, candied pecans, whipped feta cheese topped with an olive oil and a hot maple drizzle. The Ahi tuna salad was pretty straightforward, but they elevated it with a seaweed salad on top of the greens and it came with a house made wasabi vinaigrette that packed such a delicious punch. My only regret was coming here for lunch on a road trip so I couldn't indulge on one of their craft cocktails because they sounded amazing. Before I left, I got to chat with the owners and they were great guys. It definitely reinforced the need to support local businesses like this that are doing it well.
