Systems are often down, no notary onsite and they are always late opening. I usually have to go to the currency exchange on 83rd when cashing a check. I visited this check-cashing location yesterday around 6:00 PM and had a very disappointing…read moreexperience. I came in requesting a simple notary service and politely asked if I could email the document to be printed there. I even mentioned that I would pay for the printing, even though it was only one page. The woman at the counter responded very rudely and told me that the person who handles printing had already left for the day and that she "didn't know how to print." It really felt like she just didn't want to help, because printing is basic office knowledge. I ended up leaving and going all the way to the library to print my document. When I returned, she looked at the paper and immediately said she doesn't notarize "everything." Then she handed it back and said she couldn't notarize it. I explained--politely--that it was a big inconvenience to leave, print the form, and come back only to be turned away again. Instead of trying to help or even speak respectfully, she went back and forth with me, speaking in a rude and hostile tone. Meanwhile, I remained calm and respectful, but the way I was treated was completely unacceptable. This was easily one of the worst customer service experiences I've had. I will never return to this location, and I want others to be aware of how poorly customers are treated here.

For 10+ years I have been coming in this currency exchange either on the 1st of the month or the end of the month faxing these same documents. I handed the woman 4 documents and asked if she could please fax them. She sat there starring at the documents. i then asked her to go ahead and make copies first. I only asked for copies because I knew the originals would get stuck in the fax machine. She snapped on me and asked me to make up my mind! Do you want faxes or copies! I asked her if everything was ok! she snapped again! I said to her, "It's ok!" just fax my documents. She shoved my documents through her window and said, "Go to her window! Let her help you!" She wrinkled my papers! The 2nd worker sat there looking surprised! I handed her my 4 documents without a word. She copied my originals and gave them back to me. She put the copies through the fax machine. I calmly asked her who the manager was. The rude worker heard me and said loudly, "You See That!" At that moment, the manager walked in. I explained to him what had happened and asked for the camera and audio footage. He said there was a partial power outage and there would be no camera or audio. He apologized to me and said that it was probably a miscommunication. The worker who was rude has been faxing these same documents for years on a monthly basis. WHEN, WHERE, OR HOW DID THE MISCOMMUNICATION OCCUR?
