They are making me pay a fee for canceling something a week prior to it happening and i still got charged because it was somehow "less than 24 hour notice" They also charged me a fee for missing another drive i didn't show up to because i didn't even know it was happening!! I never scheduled it and I'm the only one with access to my account. I told customer service about it and she rudely argued with me over it and said word for word "you do not know what you are talking about and I will end this call if you keep arguing" I want a full refund for everything at this point. Also its impossible to get drive times and the instructors I've used so far have a heavy language barrier so its hard to understand read more

We paid for this service for an entire year for several hundred dollars for our twins and only got one driving instructor session in that entire year, because the sessions were always full. When I called to complain, the person on the phone flat out lied to me saying there were plenty of daytime sessions available every week. (The only sessions available were winter, evening sessions, and I wasn't signing my girls up to drive on snowy roads in the dark when the couldn't drive on clear roads in daylight yet.) Don't waste your money on this place (Sandy location). Signed up and paid $350 (up from $285 last time I'd checked) in the middle of March and had finished 3 observations (not required) by mid-April because drive times were unavailable. So frustrating that we couldn't get a first drive scheduled until around June 6th, and here we are 2 weeks later STILL trying to schedule a second drive time! Horrible! !! BEWARE OF A1 !! I would give 0 stars if I could this place is a money grab, I paid 300$ and applied at the start of march and finished all the courses within the first few days just to find out that there is no available drive appointments waited for MONTHS and got 1 appointment. Went into the office and they were very rude and unprofessional, I refunded with A1 and applied with Wright driving school and they got me all my appointments in the same week. read more

Absolute worst experience! My son is 16 and has past off everything (both the written exam and the final drive) but can't get his license because he can't get in for his final drive with A-1. It is impossible to use their system to get on the schedule. Every time I have tried it is always full. So I have called and called and called! It is not worth the money. Don't pay them any money until you can confirm availability!!!! They took our $300+ and now we can't schedule a time to go on the drives.... When you email they only respond in the morning and are very slow to do so. I wish that i would have read their reviews before paying them.. This place is a money grab. Worst option to get a license by far. Trying to schedule drive times is an absolute nightmare. They open up the calendar once a week and it fills immediately with very few openings They need to hire more driving instructors in the evenings when kids are available to drive. It does NO good to have drive times when the kids are at school. Horrible. You have to schedule the drives through their website at 10am on Wednesdays. I have been on their website for 8 weeks at exactly 10am and have not been able to get a single drive scheduled at any time. I have spoken with them numerous times and they are very kind on the phone but very unhelpful. I have been on the waiting list for EVERY location and none have been available. They will refund me the driving portion of the bundle but are still charging me $150 for the online portion. I would not have signed up with them if I knew I could only do the online portion. Now, I will only get a $20 discount with Wright Driving School for having completed the online portion or I will need to pay the full fee for going with the public school. If I could leave 0 stars 1 would. Been trying for weeks and no drives. You have less than 1 minute at a specific time on a specific day to try and schedule drives. If you don't get a time, try again next week. My child has just over two months until her permit expires and the staff could not guarantee I could get 3 drives in that time. Staff assured me there are multiple instructors at my designated location but only 1 instructors name shows up when trying to schedule drives. Also, told I couldn't switch locations, "all locations have these issues." Called a different company and my child has 3 drives scheduled in a 5 minute phone call. I had a child getting a license during Covid and had an easier time then, even with all the extra restrictions. Talk about running a company into the ground. read more

I would make sure you read the "fine print" before you sign up here!! They only allow you to sign up for 1 drive a week, so good luck getting a drive time. If you are not on your computer right at 10am on Wednesday refreshing your computer constantly you won't get a time! In addition, when my child finally did the first drive, the instructor was terrible. She grabbed the wheel when she said to turn left and meant to tell him to make a u-turn. He is a nervous driver and this made it even worse! So as a parent who is trying to make their child comfortable behind the wheel, this doesn't help along with the fact that you can't even sign up for drives!! The driving scheduling process is akin to trying to get Taylor Swift tickets. Be online on their website at exactly 10am each Wednesday when the weekly schedule is released (you can only drive one day a week...and that is if you are lucky enough to get on the schedule). Click refresh feverishly for 2 minutes hoping you will find an opening as they release them. If you see one, grab it - no time to check whether your child might have a conflict at that time - and try to book it. Someone else might also have picked that time and will complete the booking process before you do, so type fast!!!!!! You'll book a time some weeks if you are really diligent. When you get nothing, you can call and complain, and they will tell you how can work their crazy process better next week... or will put you in the "wait list". Complaining loud enough and asking to speak to the owner did ultimately work for us one week. "Squeaky wheel" can work. If this sounds like a process you would like to work with, go ahead and sign up! read more

This company has got to be one of the largest scams currently going on in the state of Utah. They oversell their bookings, it is virtually impossible to schedule a driving appointment and their customer service is some of the most appalling I have experienced to date. Please, please do yourself a favor and find somewhere else to get your driving lesson scheduled from. I would recommend doing your due diligence and researching the number of reviews that are mostly negative, for this so called business. I only hope that someone eventually steps in and sues them for fraud. On the other hand, if you are wanting to waste your time, money and energy...this is absolutely the company for you! read more

This is not my recommendation of a place to go. They do not have hours that work with schools and the Riverton location is closed all day except class hours. Very hard to schedule anything. They probably do not have enough staff. I will go elsewhere. They did refund my money and thank goodness I called when I did because even though I paid at 9:30 pm they counted that as one full day and o my allow two days for refund. So the next afternoon was already the end of my allowable time. I suggest elsewhere. Not very workable. read more

I would not recommend using this driving school, even though the instructor I observed was excellent, and the online instruction was decent. It is next to impossible to schedule drive times. Plus, when I complained, the lady at the Layton office implied it was my own fault because I didn't start trying to schedule drives until it was the middle of their busy time. How could I have possibly known that. Poor communication is a real problem for A-1. read more
