I am new to the area and had a couple of absolutely enormous dead cottonwoods in the backyard. I didn't realize they could be in danger of toppling into other yards but the very sweet code enforcer informed me of that when a neighbor lodged a complaint. I immediately began calling several companies, not just for pricing, I was more concerned about the experience and equipment necessary to remove 60 ft tall trees. I got some of the usual "I can do it for $1500 with my chainsaw" estimates, but of the two companies with the proper equipment one kept putting me off (you only get 30 days to complete a city citation although you can apply to extend). A-1 was so outstanding, with all the time I needed spent on the estimate to assure me the owner is knowledgeable, as we discussed equipment and methods in detail. He was here with his crew promptly on the day, they did a fabulous job while disturbing as little as possible. Cleanup was excellent. I just remembered that Nathan Sewell is also an arborist and that I need to call him about a couple of replacement ideas for the trees. This is the 2nd time I have used the services of Nathan and A-1. Once again not disappointed. This job was trimming a couple of trees and removal of an Ash tree. These trees are in a city easement between the sidewalk and the street. They marked off the street and sidewalk for safety and started the work after the crossing guard left and were done before school let out and the kids would be walking this route. At one point a blind gentlemen and his dog came across the work area and he gladly stopped working and cleared a path so that this man and his dog could continue on their journey. I can not recommend A-1 Natural Arbor Care enough. Nathan is an all-round kind soul. The first time we met he helped get down one of our cats who had climbed far too high into an elm tree. Today he came out and removed an aging locust tree from our front yard, and had to navigate around a large number of garden beds to do so. He is efficient, dedicated, and incredibly polite. Nathan and his crew are so friendly and professional. Nathan really knows his stuff and took care of our whole yard in October 2013. Tree pruning, cabling a split trunk, dead bush removal, shrub trimming , and they even planted a new tree in the front yard. All I had to do was specify what kind of tree and Nathan took care of the rest. The yard was clean when they were done and all foliage was hauled away promptly. Nathan and his crew were awesome cutting our huge birch tree down today. They were very reasonably priced, very careful working around our house and more than personable! They cleaned up and raked any wood chips left from grinding the stump and made sure to save any pieces or logs we requested. Just had Nathan and his crew put in 5 gorgeous trees into our yards; maple and oaks. We have used him for 2 years now. Today he removed several trees, ground stumps and cleaned up.
