It's been an absolute nightmare dealing with this company.. my car was towed there after an accident over 2 weeks ago (the police chose the company) and the owner has refused to let me access my car, refused to give me an address, screamed at me, screamed at the insurance agents, hung up on the insurance agents. Police had to be involved so I could clean out my car and remove plates per insurance companies request. Now again police are involved because he's holding my car hostage and refusing to let the insurance company get my car and refusing to deliver my car to the body shop or literally anywhere else .... I think the owner is legitimately mentally ill. He was very rude and aggressive from the moment I called him, and he threatened to fight me when I got there. He threw my registration and driver's license on the ground and threatened to call the police to kick me out. Also said he was recording me to post online. I thought I was going crazy or something, but after seeing the reviews I think he's got some serious mental issues. This place is a shady cash only scam, they hold cars for ransom at a secret location till you pay, and threaten to have them crushed with all of your personal effects in them if you don't pay cash that day. Oh and their real address that they won't tell you is 28 Milliken Mills Road, look for the ugly fence by the powerlines. For quite some time I have been parking at a closed church on Cutts Ave. I have an apartment close by and don't want to clog up the street or the parking at my building any more than it needs to be. I have been doing this for about 2 years, and the parking lot is never more than a 3rd full. Since the church is currently closed I mistakenly assumed no one would mind. My car was towed from the lot by A-1 towing and I had no idea who had towed my car as they did not inform me or the local police. I just came back from a weekend away it was gone with no one to contact. After calling around and a visit to the police station worried about the car being stolen, I eventually figured it out. I called the A-1 towing number and the man on the phone demanded $320 CASH ONLY for towing the car 2 miles. He was very rude and combative and wouldn't tell me where he was located and insisted on a drug deal type meeting where I would meet one of his employees at the Irving station in Saco and he would take my cash and then lead me to the secret location where my car was being held. Despite being required to by law, Reference here, "For purposes of this section, "personal effects" includes medications, medical equipment, clothing, mail, child safety seats and similar items. Except for child safety seats, items attached to the vehicle and business equipment, machinery and tools are not considered personal effects. [2007, c. 150, §9 (NEW).]" I had clothing, mail, and and other similar effects in the car at the time. He would not tell me where he was located in order for me to recover my personal possessions from the car, all he did was threaten to hang up and sell my car to a junkyard to be crushed. Needing my car back I eventually gave into his demands and made the exchange at the gas station, I was then driven to a strange back lot in the woods where a few junk cars were being held. The whole event was very unprofessional and left a bad taste in my mouth, I feel I was extorted. I understand the church has every right to keep people out of their parking area, however, there must be a better way to do it, I'll gladly put up some hobby horse barriers to save someone else from my experience. Car was towed after an accident. The owner only wants to fight. Will scream and hang up on you. Later he will "apologize" only to scream again. He refused to work with our insurance provider and the other towing company that was going to move our car to the garage. He stated "I blocked their number, they don't pay their bills." Our insurance was going to pay him, not this other towing company. This caused delays and our car had to continue to sit there. He makes excuse after excuse to squeeze money from people. Even our insurance adjuster just said he had never experienced anything like it in his professional career. He told us to do what we had to do to get our car out of there and away from him. We had to get him to tow our vehicle to the garage. This man should not own a business. God help you if your vehicle is towed away by him. read more

Not that anyone ever gets to pick the place that tows their car ... This place gives me a stomach ache just thinking about it. My car was towed here (from my son's legal apartment building parking space after snow storms over Christmas vacation). Again, cash only extortion. He was even told by property management that they hadn't had it towed (when someone obviously did call - we don't know who - can't seem to find out). read more
