PROJECT: Install 450sq ft of patio pavers…read more Mr. Becker told me his " A team was on this job". During the installation of the crusher run bedding the pitch for the water run off was insufficient. They assured me that it was pitched enough for rain. Upon completion, I noticed standing water after it rains in numerous areas. They attempted to correct with no success. During installation of the four part gray block, I was informed by the on-site foreman that they had NEVER installed a random pattern before. I had to repeatedly ask the workers to break up several straight lines more than two feet in length. I could plainly see that it was not a true random pattern as displayed in several paver manufacturer brochures but more so a haphazard pattern (i.e. "figure it out as you go" as the workers would say to each other). Many of the same block sizes were place against each other. No show--no call on a scheduled day to work. I stopped by Becker's office to pay the last installment and get clarification for what I thought was a mistake on the balance request sent via email. Mr. Becker stated that I owed an additional $1,351 for the additional blocks, flower garden stones and movement of the drain lines. I was shocked and surprised that this additional cost was never mentioned by Mr. Becker either before, during or the last time both he and I reviewed the final patio together. I took more umbrage with Mr. Becker that he never even warned me of a possible price increase. Per the written contract page one; 'Any alterations or deviation from specifications involving extra cost or labor and material will ONLY be executed with an agreed upon written proposal for same, and will be an extra charge over the sum upon in this contract. All agreements must be in writing.' No previous conversations nor any written proposals was provided concerning any increase to contract cost either before or during project work nor were there any verbal change orders discussed specific to any increases in cost. I was disgusted by Mr. Becker's attitude and rude demeanor. I paid the total additional cost under protest. In the summary, Becker received his full fee ($9,251) including the $1,351 increase charged without warning. Yet after all that, he failed to return for a simple repair ("I stand by my work" as he told me several times past). To cap it all off, he posted pictures of my home for his business advertising without my permission. He got his money yet treated me with an unprofessional demeanor and disdain for customer satisfaction. I filed a complaint with the Department of Professional Occupation and Regulation. This is the state regulatory board for issuing all contractor licensing. DPOR cited Becker with 4 code violations. He fought it all the way to a DPOR board hearing giving false testimony with regard to agreed upon work. He was fined on all four code violations.

Don't bother. Discourteous, poor communicating, and unprofessional staff. Recommend going with a…read morecompany that doesn't steal from potential customers. Look elsewhere.
