The first time I ever went there, they told me to have a seat, won't be a second. There were two guys working, each busy with a customer. After Barber 1 was done, he left the store to get lunch. Yes, just walked out. Meanwhile, I'm drumming my fingers. Over an hour later, the guy comes back from lunch and says he'll do my hair now. Now keep in mind, the two guys getting haircuts were getting at least 30- and 40-minute haircuts respectively. Nothing special. I thought maybe they were cutting the mayor and governor's hair but they were just regular Joes. This was also the middle of a weekday. After I was seated, I got the same haircut they did but it took him less than ten minutes to finish my hair. Not only that, it was so bad I had to use my clippers at home to fix the screwed-up hairline, etc... So I guess if you are a "regular" or make an appointment they spend 45 minutes on you. If you're new or a walk-in, they give you the blow and go. I might as well have gone to SuperCuts and saved myself some time and money. Now down the street is Mike's barbershop. He's the only employee, owner, and is never busy. I couldn't understand why it's so slow because he only charges $13 for a men's haircut and he does a great job. I think it may be the lousy parking because A&C has a prime parking lot across from them. Well, Mike doesn't work Mondays and I really needed a haircut. Begrudgingly, I was forced to go to A&C a second time. Here I was, waiting for about 45 minutes, with two guys ahead of me. They literally were spending half their time watching the many TVs with the sound blaring from speakers. It was loud and noisy and they were using half their time looking up and down from the TV. Very unprofessional business and lousy cutters. The whole outfit has no clue about customer service. What they do have is prime real estate in the center of downtown. So if you want crappy, slow service, go to A&C. It seems if you're part of the 'in' crowd you get a long cut with some attention to detail. Been getting my kids hair cuts there now for about 7 yrs.. Always a great experience. Abel has always done a great job with the kids, giving them nice haircuts, and dealing positively with them when they were squirming toddlers. And the price is right too. Me.. I do my own hair at home (see my pic), but if I didn't, I'd definitely be having Abel do mine. read more

I've been here half a dozen times and it's always a short wait, and then a gray cut and shave and lineup. Whole staff is great. Environment is awesome. Brought my 5 year old son for his first haircut outside of us forcing the clippers on him. Kevin did such a great job with him. I'm a customer for life. read more

I have been there 2 times but will not go again. The first time i told the barber I wanted my hair cut short ,which he did but i did not like the cowlick that kept sticking out. So the next time i went I told the barber not to go too high and leave the sides full. He nodded ok but started to cut my hair with electric razor and completely ignored my instructions. I couldn't tell what he was doing so I just let him finish. It is a pain to keep the cowlick from sticking out. I use a little vaseline until it gets longer again. read more

Great place, they do an awesome job with my sons hair especially Abe! I'm a woman and have no issues sitting in there as other reviewers may have you believe. It's clean and yes it's busy so you have the option to make an appointment or wait for the guy you want. The price is right, service sometimes slow when they're busy but my son looks great after. Can't really speak to the barbers' skills. Never had the pleasure of getting a cut. I was referred here by a friend so I thought I would check it out. So I went in and sat down when I was greeted with a "Yo bro, you gotta sign in". I'm 36 yo and not his bro . There was no signage indicating the rules and when I got to the list, it had 3 barbers names but the barbers were not labeled. So I signed into the shortest list. I sat there for about 25min. Listening to them bullshit back and forth, often completely stopping cutting to stand and talk. Even one of the customers walked over there to yuk it up. I had a wedding that day that I was in and extremely rushed. But I sat quietly. Then one guy finishes with his customer then sat there with his back to everyone and was texting or updating Facebook. Who knows. So a few minutes of that goes by, and then a random guy walks in also gets told to "Sign in Bro". He looked like he was on drugs and unstable and his ol' lady was with him - a real prize too. Anyway he goes to the book and sees the barber on his phone and says how about you? "Yeah sit down". Nice. Mind you there were like 4-5 other ppl waiting too. So whatever I suck it up. My fault. I should spoken up when he was on the phone. But the tweaker looked dangerous and I didn't want to set him off. 25min go by. So now he's done with this guy but before he is - someone he seems to have known came in and signed in. Then he says to him "Yeah you're next" (no 'bro' tho). I was like "Nah he din-!!" I had been sitting there for nearly an hour suffering. So when he was done and paid, I got up and said "Hey, I signed in under a random name. I don't know anyone here. Just need to get a cut. I'm kind of in a rush. Can I just get one from you?" Reply: "Yeah, but I gotta take him next tho". No offense but the friggin friend had clearly just woken up (noon) and was all in sweats. I'm sure he was not in a rush. Nobody in that place was. I think maybe 1 of the other barbers finished 1 person in that whole time - the 3rd barber (prob the one I signed in for) had the same person in his chair through this whole ordeal!! This place is like a cliche barber shop from a 90s movie set in south central LA or a Tyler Perry masterpiece or something. Everyone telling stories and standing around. Multi-task for gods sake. I WISH I had time to waste like that. Needless to say I stormed out of there and had to go to Supercuts, which actually wasn't bad. They can fade hair too and was out in 20min. They may be good barbers, I can't say because my son and I walked in (sign says walk ins welcome) , waited an hour, and then watched as the barber walked out the door without having the decency to address us. Obviously at that point we left. read more

I just got the worst hair cut I have gotten in at least ten years. The kid cutting my hair did a horrible job. I would have not even gone back to that place, but barber was hurt and out of work for some time. I personally don't like writing online reviews, but this was such a hack job I created the account just to advise people to try one of the many other barber shops in the area. read more
