I've never left a review for any business before, but I feel like I have to share this experience. I went to King Barber for the first time because of the high ratings. Unfortunately, this was the worst haircut I've ever had. The entire haircut took about 6 minutes, and Frank did not do a single thing I asked for. I was left extremely unhappy, disappointed, and honestly angry with the result. To make matters worse, I was charged $40 for a 6-minute haircut that looked terrible. I didn't want to cause a scene, so I paid and even tipped $5, knowing I would never return. As I was walking to my car, I looked back at the shop and saw people inside laughing and pointing at me, which made the situation even worse. For a place that's supposedly a step up from Supercuts, this was far worse than my worst Supercuts experience -- and I've gotten the majority of my haircuts there over the years. Don't be fooled by the reviews like I was. Looking back, I regret even paying. The whole experience was extremely unprofessional and disappointing. read more

My boyfriend and 2 kids used to go here all the time. Today was definitely the last! My boyfriend has a long beard and asked for a trim, the guy trimmed it up to less than a 1/4 of an inch. I had brought my son here for cuts back when he was in jr. high. He's 23 now. I have been getting my cuts here as well now and then. Every time I've come in for a cut I've been less and less impressed with everything. Last time a barber, who was clearly very nervous and just learning the ropes, nicked me a few times (drawing blood) and even though I requested "buzzing the back and sides with a #1" he didn't get it. Started clipping away. I expressed I was disappointed with cut etc and the owner (Attleboro) GiGi, spoke with me and told me to ask for him next time. So I made the appointment with GiGi for 5/13. I requested to have the back and sides buzzed with a 0.5, very close to the skin. Nahh..didn't happen! I've had #1's a lot closer! Not only that but I was in and out of the chair in less than 10 minutes for #35. The last three times have been $25, $30 and $35. read more

I have been coming here for 6 years & Patrick is by far the best barber I have ever had in my 36 years of life. I was so sad to have moved away to Atlanta but whenever I come back to the area I schedule an appointment with Patrick to get a low skin fade & a scissors cut on top. No complaints about the barber or the haircut. Haircut looks great. I was very off put by my greeting into the shop, however. I had an appointment for 4:40 and walked in at 4:35 to several people pointing me to the chair I was going to be sitting in. No one asked for my name for my reservation but just told me "he's been waiting" and rushed me to the seat as they gave me angry stares. The barber at the next seat over then proceeded to stare at me for the next 5 minutes and chuckle as he spoke to his coworkers (not in English so I am not positive what they were discussing). I have been here several times, great place usually I get a great hairy cut. But today the hair cuts was great, but I don't know why the barber trimmed my goatee. I did not ask him to. He took a big divet out of my left side, but did nothing on the right. He let me walk out like this. I did not see it until I got home. I had to shave the other side to match. This looks stupid. Came here twice during the pandemic and had fine service (a few barbers while noses out but not so bad). Went in today so I could beat the mask less folks out tomorrow when the mandate was lifted (haven't yet had my second shot). Barber literally would not cut my hair unless I took my mask off. This place is the definition of hit-or-miss. I have gotten great haircuts here, as well as weedwhacker ones. My most recent one is more on the weedwhacker side. I showed a picture of what I wanted--did not get it. Just really frustrating because it is difficult to find a consistent barber in this area. If you need a quick haircut, this place is great, but you are not always going to get what you pay for at $30+ per haircut. No matter. I don't usually go to a barber, but since I was growing out my beard and had trouble making it look clean/nice, I figured I'd give this place a try for both a hair cut and beard trim. This visit was probably from a year ago. I was a walk-in, but I didn't have to wait very long before I was ushered into the corner. I said hello but didn't get a response, instead he just put the cape on me and did some other preparatory things. While it was probably only a minute, sitting there wondering if/when this guy was going to ask me what I wanted seemed like an eternity and made it awkward. When I did tell him what I wanted, which included the words scissors only, the first thing he does is gets the buzzers out and starts on my hair. Concerned, I immediately say "hey, I said I wanted a scissor cut", which he responded that they still use this to make it look better. OK, fine, but it's probably a good idea to warn people first, because I didn't know that. I see the buzzers and think I'm going to get a shorter haircut than I want. The guy was just overall socially awkward and it made things really uncomfortable. As for the job he did, I would say it was painfully average. Did I walk out of there looking slightly better than I did walking in? Sure, in the same way I walk out of a restaurant fuller than when I walked in, but there was nothing fantastic about the cut, trim, or environment that would compel me to come back. read more

I highly recommend that nobody gets a haircut at this place I went in there to get a skin fade he rushed through my whole hair cut like he had somewhere to be what's 10 cost me $40 which is completely outrageous to begin with then when I asked him to trim my beard and straighten up my beard he didn't shave me at all he simply took the buzzers and trimmed it which took under 90 seconds which was absolutely ridiculous again and then he was so unfriendly it was absolutely unprofessional he didn't charge me $50 total for the whole haircut because he charged me $15 for shaving my beard which he never did and lining it up which took them about 90 seconds I highly recommend not going here because I know I won't that was my first and last time ever by the way the person that cut my hair was actually the owner of the place his name was Gigi read more

Sloppy rush job, not worth the time or money. Asked for a buzz cut, a beard square up, and a straight razor clean up. Barber destroyed my beard took it down from an inch to a centimeter. Cut a weird messy cuts into my moustache and shaved it nearly off. I had to spend an hour trying to fix it at home. Did not do the requested straight razor work. Guy didn't say a word to me the whole time he was rushing to get me out of his chair. You're better off with a Wahl razor and a youtube tutorial than these clowns. read more

I have a hectic schedule, and work two jobs, so I can't always get in on schedule. Despite this fact, my barber, James, always remembers my style, my preferences, and our conversations. He easily provides one of the best, most consistent experiences I have ever gotten from a barber shop. The shop itself takes customers as they walk in. An employee greets you, asks if you would like a specific barber, and gives you an estimated wait time. If you are open to any barber, you'll be sitting in a chair very quickly. They keep the shop well-staffed, so customers don't have to wait very long. All of the employees have a good attitude, and I have seen some great cuts come from the barbers. I always ask for James, but you can't go wrong with all of the experience in this business. read more

I started going there because it's right down the street from my gym. I never make an appt and got a different guy for the first three visits. All the cuts were good. First one was great. Then on my fourth visit,​ I got my hair cut and it looked great and grew out well. Now I ask for only him when I go and tip him well. I'm not saying his name because I don't want other people to start asking for him. He's already got enough of a following. Most times I have to wait as he has a line while the other barbers don't. No problem as he's worth it. The pricing is good and they have a​ sign that says they prefer cash and with a no-name fee-heavy ATM on site. I always use my credit card and usually tip in cash. Gave these guys a shot this past weekend. I arrived with pretty high hopes after reading the reviews here and elsewhere. I left with a pretty bad haircut and won't be returning. I should've read the reviews more closely, because if I had I would've noticed a whole lot of people talking about the killer cut their kid got. In retrospect that makes sense, because I'm pretty sure these dudes only know how to give haircuts to kids and cops. My guy did a great job with the clippers, giving me a nice clean sides and back, but the top was atrocious. I came in with an overgrown but good haircut. Nothing complex, but some shape to the front and top. I asked for a cleaned up, shorter version of that, but got a very typical 14 yr old haircut: bangs cut straight into a middle school caesar, stiff gel and all. I had to get my own scissors out at home to fix the mess. Also, this place is just generally unpleasant, or at least was on a busy weekend afternoon. The barbers are all obviously rushing, trying to cycle through the kids lined up as quickly as possible, maximizing their income per hour. I get that, I guess, but it's not what I look for in a barbershop, and certainly nowhere near what you get at a proper salon. Oh well, lesson learned. Luckily hair grows back. read more

The barbers completely ignore your instructions and give you an awful cut. I said I didn't want it cut short but you know what he did? The exact opposite of what i said and cut it short. Only go if you want the same scrappy haircut cause it seem like thats the only thing the mechanical barbers can comprehend. Giving this experience a four stars. The service was very quick, which is always appreciated , and the cut looked good. The only reason it does not get five is because there was little communication with the barber that cut my hair. Don't get me wrong, the less talk the better I always say, however, they didn't ask about blow drying my hair which I do not ever have done because my hair does gets static and easily cowlicks when heat is applied. They also applied product to my hair without asking, I never use product in my hair and always turn it down when asked. Before I could say no thank you, his fingers were being raked through my hair with pomade that smells like toilet bowl cleaner. I am also not sure what was included in the water that was sprayed and left on my neck at the end of the cut but it was burning as I left the salon. I may go back to King Barber, but I may try the location in the odd looking building in Seekonk the next time. read more

I'm very disappointed in my son's haircut from today. The barber (?Artie? In a chair right across from the door) spoke so quietly my son couldn't even hear him ask his name. He changed the whole shape of his cut, gave him a very wide shaved part, gave him a different hairline on either side of his face, layered it unevenly, used only clippers even on the longer top, and styled it totally differently than it looked when he came in. "Artie" only asked if he wanted the sides short and a part,and my son said yes. But he ended up with a very short and very different look entirely. A 13 year old shouldn't feel bad about his hair, but he almost cried on the way home. Not cool. read more
