After the work was done he was going to charge me $500 plus tax. I reminded him of the quote and he said something to the effect that was the way the system worked but that he could discount the charge, which he did. The new charge was slightly over $500 tax included, which put the labor charge just a few dollars above the original quote. I later checked with the comptroller's office online and found out that labor for landscape work is not a taxable sale. I feel like I paid $50+ more than I should have. Otherwise, I was happy with the work.
