We had a roof vent blow off with the high winds we had, and there was a threat of rain over the next two days. Called A&E and they were so helpful. They understood my need and scheduled an appointment for the next morning. The crew showed up on time, actually early...which was great. They jumped on the issue and knocked it out. Heard of them through word of mouth, so figured I'd give a shot at a quote to re-side our home. Started with a call. Phone rep seemed to want to rush me off the phone and told me numerous times they are super backed up and can't do any work soon. That's fine with me, I'm looking for a quote for a few months out. They said a sales person would call me back. Nothing. Forgot to get a name of whom I spoke with. Went to website a couple days later and filled out a request for an online quote. Nothing.... until about a month later! Since I was still gathering quotes I figured what the heck, give them a shot. Guy came out the next morning. Was friendly and chatted about what we needed. Quickly looked at house (didn't take any measurements or anything) and gave a rough estimate by mouth, that was double the other estimates we have been getting. He was on property for all of 5 min. Either he really knows his stuff, or is so busy they have him running around and cannot properly quote. Guessing the latter is it with the double cost of what others were quoting. Overall I did not care for how this business was run, and with how busy they seemed, I figured the prices would be great. Can't imagine staying in business with high prices and poor communication skills these days, even in service, but they seem to do it I guess. My 5 digit business went elsewhere. read more

After being approached by several storm chasers who wanted us to sign a contract after our house suffered damage in the Memorial Day hail storm that hit Oswego this past spring, a close friend referred my wife and I to A&E. As a Google Local Guide I always look local - whether that be for food, goods, services, etc. A&E in Aurora met my first expectation for being local. Little did I know what to expect next...... I had the fortunate experience of working with Pastor, the owner and CEO. From day 1 he educated me on the various aspects of roofing materials, siding, etc. The scope of the work for A&E was a new roof, new siding and new gutters. When we still were somewhat uncertain on colors, Pastor invited us to his newly built showroom in Aurora. When we arrived, not only were we amazed at the space and layout, but we also were introduced to some of the staff. This is a local family company so it was great to see in person how the family exhibits their vested interest. Jessica called us the day before the roof was to be installed. She gave us specific times of when the workers would arrive to tear down the old roof and when the materials would arrive. The roof materials were delivered via crane to the top of the roof as opposed to an elevator or someone walking up a ladder carrying it. When the roof was installed, Pastor and others were present to ensure I had no issues. A&E also went so far as to replace our mushroom vents with ridge vents. They even spray painted the vents black to match the roof. The cleanup was amazing. The next part of our project was the siding. The siding crew was also very efficient. The siding crew not only cleaned up daily but also ensured the materials were properly covered when inclement weather would approach. As part of the siding install, we also needed to have some painting done to the cedar to match the siding color. The painter did a great job. I was amazed after seeing the new color and how it matched exactly to the siding. After we saw the work the painter did on the cedar, we decided to have him paint our rails, old trim, and some soffits. You can see from the attached before and after pictures how the white now stands out a lot more than it did before. This painter did such a great job, I'd like to hire him to paint the inside of my house. A&E do you offer interior painting as well? The last part of work was the gutters. Pastor and his team recommended black gutters from the beginning once he knew the color of the siding we wanted. The gutter crew was done rather quickly since the siding crew made their job easier. The crew even recommended moving one of the gutters due to the way the home is sloped. I opted for extensions and let me tell you, those look way better than the plastic extensions you can buy. The gutters were also a lot thicker than the prior ones we had installed. My experience with A&E has been nothing but stellar. Each day of work a foreman would be present. He would explain what work would be done, ask me if I had any questions or concerns, and act on those. When Pastor would visit, he too would ensure that everything was moving according to plan. If he found something not right, he would message his employees and ensure they would do a follow up visit. When it came to billing, Eric provided a detail breakout for insurance purposes. There are so many little things A&E did too, like replacing an old light and an electrical box. When we didn't have time to move a trampoline, they made sure it was properly covered so no roof materials got in there. It's just a great overall company. As I close, I want to say, our house looks amazing. Even before it was completed, we received several compliments from our neighbors. A&E did a fantastic job. This was our first experience replacing major components of the house and I couldn't be happier. I can't wait to work with Pastor and his team again. Thanks A&E for doing a fantastic job! read more

BEYOND EXCELLENT SERVICE AND ROOFING WORK - just one very minor nuance. Had a roof put on by A&E the start of this week and we are very pleased with their service, workmanship, punctuality, product, fair pricing, and kindness. Roof looks beautiful and we would highly recommend them to anybody. Work took about two days and the crew (at least 4 people per day) started right around 7am. The first evening, they worked until well past 7:30pm. They did take a lunch break and must have taken washroom breaks - where - we don't know. We asked them if they wanted any drinks/water and if anybody needed to use the restroom, and they said no thanks. I simply assume they went elsewhere to do this during their 12-13 hour shifts. Job was completed yesterday - and even their CLEAN-UP was meticulous. Again - very good and hard workers and we recommend them to anybody. * The very minor nuance (which we will let slide due to their apology - not to mention outstanding work, but will mention just for future reference for future customers): The first night, they left equipment and their large truck in our driveway overnight. We didn't immediately notice this until about 8:30 pm when we all went to go put our cars away and found we couldn't. Having 4 cars that are necessary daily, we had to keep them out on the street overnight and call the police station to let them know, so we wouldn't be ticketed. This wasn't an overly huge issue, but it would have helped if they had asked or let us know ahead of time - we were caught off guard. We would have agreed, or at minimum, allowed for them to park their truck in the street overnight and we would have called in the truck to get permission from the PD. The following day, the manager did apologize and state that should not have happened and/or that his crew should have asked. Again, this lone incident in no way reflects the quality of work and dedication that was put into our roof job :) Our note to future customers is that just make sure you allow clearance with them (and vice versa) if the crew wants to keep their trucks and material in your driveway overnight. Highly recommended. Great workers (who busted their butts and worked hours more than even we would have asked them to), and great quality workmanship. A+ read more

Highly Recommend I had A&E replace my roof and gutters twice (first time was a complete tear off and second time due to hail damage) and both times they exceeded my expectations. These are the three reasons: 1. Honest and easy to work with - Pastor did not try to sell me on items I did not need and they always answer the phone when you call. They deliver on time and do what they say they are going to do. 2. A&E provides a complete solution - This is often overlooked, when getting quotes from competitors they quoted for the roof but they did not do the gutters. I got my roof, gutters and leaf guards all done at the same time from A&E. Why do two projects when you can treat it as one. 3. Quality of work - The work is outstanding and ALL of the employees are respectful and great to work with. I am very happy with the finished project. read more

I decided to have A&E replace my roof and gutters, I am thoroughly satisfied with their work, it was top notch, high quality products. They put the roof on my house 2 years ago and now I'm getting a leak inside down a wall. I was not the owner of the house when they did the work. Apparently their warranty is not transferable to the new owner. Therefore they would have to charge me to come and look at it and fix it. I'm told this is standard in the industry but seems sleezy to me. Just be careful. read more

Excellent work at a fair price. After a neighbor recommended A & E Roofing and Siding, I got them (and others) to estimate after some bad storms. They had the shingles I wanted and Alex in the office was most helpful. The crew arrived on time and was completed by about 4pm. Their clean up was A1 and all the on site crew were friendly and professional, nothing was too much for them. They even painted my ugly vent stacks to match the roof!! I called to have a vent cover out back on after a storm blew it off. Made the appointment. Called me back and said he was running late and would be here at 5:30. Called me back at 7:30 pm and said he couldn't make it until next morning. Next morning at 11:00am and nobody. Called and he said he was close by and be here in a little while! No show. Called him at 4:00pm and 6:000 pm, no one answered. I also left several messages. If you don't want the job, just say so and not lie about it. Definitely not trust worthy and dependable. I would not hire or recommend this company. read more

I went to another roofing company was given a quote and then ignored. A&E was out quickly after I called them of an estimate (which was less than the first one) and out for the gutter replacement in a matter of weeks. They kept in constant contact so that I knew what was going on, and respected both my property and my time. It truly was a pleasure working with them. read more

These people only care about themselves. I live right by them and they have blocked my car in the driveway multiple times they do it to my other neighbors as well. And they block me in with about 4 trucks. I am a nanny I can not be late and they have made me late 4 times this month because they do not listen to me and stay in their own parking lot. They have no respect for others. I don't not like company's not being friendly and respectful with the people around them read more

They did my roof back In May 2010. While recently cleaning my gutters I found several fascia gaps that needed repairs. I've called their office 5 times requesting a quote to perform the work. I was assured that somebody would be out to assess the situation. It's been 3 plus weeks since my initial call and I have yet to receive either a return call or a visit. Very poor customer service. All I can say is YOU CAN DO BETTER, this company just doesn't respond to issues or calls anymore. They were good a long time ago but have grown too big and can't get the jobs done anymore. you may want to look elsewhere for your roofing and siding needs. If you have an insurance related job, please get a few estimates as they will jack up the price just because they think its not your money, but it is. A&E just finished putting a new roof on both the house and garage - for the house, this meant taking off four layers! The roofers worked so hard to do the job in three days before incoming rain. They were professional, on time, and protected the neighbors homes with tarps. When weather permits, they will begin with re-siding the house and garage. So far - the job, the materials, and the workers were as promised. ...an honest company. read more
