My deck has been a sight for sore eyes for quite some time. I've neglected it for many years but this year I was on a mission to bring it back to life. I was burned last year by a handyman who slapped together a wooden stair deck with zero permits, no blueprints, no concrete footings, and didn't even stain the wood as planned. Winter squalls ripped off some metal fascia on my garage, and I needed it repaired ASAP. Derrick and his crew were fantastic and their price was very competitive. Through a series of unfortunate events we were lucky to hire Derrick after a different company installed the wrong front door that was five inches too short and with no weather proofing and ruined our crown molding on the inside of our house. But Derrick came in and saved our sanity! From my first call with Derrick I immediately wished I would have worked with him first and am ultimately glad he is the one who fixed the mess that wasn't his to fix! He is incredibly knowledgeable about doors and the installation of them. He went above and beyond sending my wife and I pictures of different options and then followed up with phone calls and a house visit to measure and make sure we ordered the correct doors. He educated us a lot too about roofing and gutters and other home owner knowledge we were lacking - I am grateful for his loud talkative nature! Derrick was very honest to point out the mistakes of the previous company and educated us on how he would repair the damage. He also shared the things the previous company did correctly. So not everything was doom and gloom! During the install - he and his two other men took their time - one of the guys left the job to get more foam to weather proof when our job required four tubes rather than working quickly to make the two tubes they had work! Then he even waited an additional 20 minutes until we found extra insulation that he packed himself into the brick to make our door the most weather efficient door! I so appreciate his patience to do the job right the first time. He even said himself- "if this was my house- I would wait. I don't take shortcuts and I believe in karma so I do every house like it's my own." Just wow. The integrity in that alone! We have a two and a three year old who admired their work (and got in the way I'm sure!) the entire time and it was very sweet that Derrick took the time to include them and show them what he was working on- he really went above and beyond for our family in so many ways.
