This grocery store and gas station took over the space vacated by the very briefly present Wal-Mart convenience store, and is a huge improvement over that atrocity. Walking in, the improvements over the Wal-Mart are easy to see. Attractive interior that doesn't feel overstuffed. A large variety of fresh foods and meats. There is even a small bakery and deli counter where you can order sandwiches to go. One of the best parts of this location, however, is that they have quite an impressive beer selection (wine, too)! You'll find everything from standard domestics all the way up to local, state, and larger craft brews. I picked up a 6 pack of "Not your Mother's Iced Tea" because who doesn't want to sip on a cold tea laced with a bit of alcohol while lazing on the beach?? This place really packs a lot of great services into their smaller location. They also double as a gas station, propane retailer, and red box movie stop. I received an email confirmation stating my order was ready for pickup. When I arrived, I waited at the deli area for a while before getting someone's attention. I explained that I was there to pick up my order, and the associate informed me that a manager would be coming out to speak with me. At that moment, I had a feeling something was wrong. Bobby, the manager, came out and explained that they had not received any orders. I immediately felt sick to my stomach, and I think he noticed because he quickly reassured me that he had a plan. Bobby explained that while the turkeys had not arrived yet, he would fulfill everything else on my order. His calm and proactive approach instantly put me at ease. Although I didn't get the turkey, I was just grateful to have food for my residents. Bobby was absolutely amazing--polite, kind, and professional throughout the entire situation.
