How lucky are we to have the best, most amazing Harris Teeter in our own backyard! And I shopped them all in NC from the big urban stores to the small neighborhood locations! The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I've had them practically climb the shelves to reach the last box on the top shelf Their produce section never disappoints. And can we talk about their sushi team! Always willing to make what your craving! You haven't lived until you've ordered groceries for pick up! Their curbside team is on-point! During Christmas, they even wore reindeer and elf costumes to bring joy to their customers...along with the holiday feast! We are so happy to have this wonderful local supermarket! Best one in town, by far. I was also shocked to know they have fresh sushi served on a conveyor belt. Well, good evening I have to give these guys five stars yet again. I traveled from Washington, North Carolina to new Bern to do some shopping and Then decided to do some grocery shopping while I was there. I had been to this Harris Teeter before for a special item and they were kind enough to find it for me. Well this time was a different story. I did self check out and my last three items were left in a bag on the self check out counter. Didn't realize till I got home 35 mins) that I was missing a bag. I called the store and they had it customer service and I asked if they could refrigerate the cheese for me, we drove back down another 35 minutes to get the bag when I got there. The same lady that had helped me months ago was there and another lady. I got my items and the cheese was refrigerated and the lady remembered that she had spoken to me, but here's the kicker, they also asked me if I had a VIC card and I did but didn't realize it was their store card so she put the card in and actually saved $13 I had missed the first go around!!!Love this place, the employees there are top-notch! I like Harris Teeter. It's a decent grocery store with solid customer service from time to time. While it is a huge store it doesn't have the most when it comes to various items. There have been times when I've seen the same item take up two to three holes on a shelf. I'm a senior and I now understand that Harris Teeter in New Bern, NC has raised it's Prime Rib dinner to $17.99 (from $14.99), a 20% increase with little notice. It doesn't stop there. The associates are now carving the meat quite a bit less than what we normally would get. HT - we're seniors on a small budget. We enjoy having a nice prime rib dinner at an affordable price. This is by far one of best grocery of the best I have ever been to. It is clean, huge, has everything you would need and my favorite is the drive up pharmacy!!!! I loved it! You can see the pharmacist on camera and its very personable. There is a sushi bar, juice bar and so much more. read more

Has everything your heart desires minus reliable seafood- go to a fish store downtown or near airport for that cause it's a toss up here. They even have a pharmacy, drive through pharmacy and gas station... what?!? Mind blown. Better than Publix no question. read more

The largest Harris Teeter as of this writing. 1/3 of the store is ready made food, so come hungry. There's a double salad bar, a hot bar, Asian bar, wing bar, granola bar, burger bar, sushi bar, sub bar, juice bar, pizza bar,and, wait for it, an actual bar. A beer and wine bar. You can get your groceries and a meal, Starbucks, gas, prescriptions... All with that Harris Teeter outstanding customer service. My only complaint is that the place is so darn big and so far, I can only find restrooms by the pharmacy, which is clear on the other end of the building from the actual bar, the wine and beer bar. You can probably spend less on groceries, but no store here matches their quality, selection, and outstanding customer service. I love to stop in for breakfast. My record time is nine minutes car door to car door. Starbucks, hot breakfast bar, and self check out. Nine minutes. I can't prepare a healthy breakfast and latte in nine minutes. read more

Harris Teeter in New Bern blatantly does not enforce masking. They have no one at the entrance asking people to wear masks to enter, and they don't require masks for check out, so the store is continually filled people not wearing them. Somehow the other grocery stores in town have figured out how to enforce it but Harris Teeter doesn't seem to value the health of its customers or its employees. read more

When HT opened the new store I was amazed, it was just as good as the Whole Foods in Alexandria VA where I moved from. It is a huge store with about anything you could want. Great wine selection, sushi bar, and daily dinner selection, etc. Large meat, poultry, and fish sections. No need to go anywhere else. New store! This store is great. Excellent selection of weekly staples, and splurges. They have great domestic and import cheeses. The wine and beer options are varied and at reasonable prices. There is a full service Starbucks in the store. Additionally the store has a wide ranging food and salad bar, wine and beer bar, and sushi go round. The sushi at the sushi go round is good and reasonably priced. Stop by the store, you can get anything you want and could easily stay for lunch or dinner, a drink, or just coffee. This is the best store in town. Similar concept to a Whole Foods or Wegmans. Excited to have this option in town now. read more

The manager of the deli section needs to train the employees about customer service because they have a young lady working in the pizza section that is quite rude. They have the best pharmacy staff I've ever dealt with and as a travel nurse I've worked in 12 states and I've used at least that many pharmacies. For groceries, the new store is unbelievable. With all of the ready made items on the hot and cold bars, you wouldn't have to cook ever again. I have found the staff always ready to help me track down an item I am having difficulty locating and service with a smile every time. If I can't get it at Harris Teeter or order it online I don't need it bad enough. read more

We went and had a couple of burgers today. Bill was the grill guy, worst burgers we have had in New Bern. After waiting 24 minutes to get burgers ordered Med and Med Rare cooked well done is not our idea of a pleasant lunch out. I love harris teeter. it has always been my favorite grocery store in new bern. yes the prices are a little high but if you stick to the sale items you cant beat the prices. when the new store opened up I was truly impressed. a couple months later and not so much. most of the food bars that stay open till 7:30 are thoroughly cleaned and closed up by the time I get there. I get off work at 6:30 and it takes me 15 minutes to get there. I (and a whole lot of other people) would love some Asian food but the pans are bare. the burger bar: closed. the bar that cooks something different everyday: closed. the pizza bar: 4 pieces left. if I wanted a rotisserie chicken or sushi I would have been in luck but as it goes I ended up at the wing bar. the hot food bar and the salad bar and the soup bar were all still open but did not look very appetizing. I so disappointed as were quite a few other people. this was a Friday night the place was jumping with people coming home from work not wanting to cook but ending up going elsewhere. myself as well. I heard a few people asking if there was gonna be any more food coming out but the answer was "not tonight". I don't understand how you can post the hours at 7:30 and then close it down early. I don't go every night but I do frequent harris teeter a lot. and I find myself in the same situation a lot. I end up going through a drive thru on my way home getting something not very healthy. now on the other hand when I go in your store on my days off in the noon hour I am so totally impressed by what I see it only makes it that much worse when I go in at night. on top of all this I really think 7:30 is a bit early to close it all down. a lot of people eat at 8 and 9:00. maybe if you stay open till 9 it wont get closed till 8???? read more
