If you've dealt with a handful of contractors, you get a sense right away that some people are really into what they do and some are just there to do work. That first type--the enthusiast--is the one you want. Not only does Rob exemplify it, his entire crew does as well. We'll definitely use them again if and when the need arises.

His bid was competitive, and he was able to offer suggestions and ideas that we hadn't thought of or didn't know were feasible. The initial timeline was several months out, but Rob remained in contact and was able to move us up on the calendar. The project was completed at the quoted price, plus a couple of scope additions we requested. Work took a little longer than expected, likely due to modifications needed to bring our aging home up to standard, and the perfection of our tile work; Rob does things the right way, and uses great subcontractors. The end result is beautiful. The bathroom remodel was completed so perfectly that we now see flaws in our guest bathroom which was remodeled 3 years ago by a different contractor. Our master suite has transformed from the worst part of our home to our personal sanctuary. I would not hesitate to hire Rob Tol Construction again. In fact, we're already planning to when we're ready to start our next project. As a side note, but important to us, Rob and all of his subs were great with our dogs. so we never had to lock them away during the project.

Shannon was extremely helpful in scheduling the removal and then later the replacement of the gutters. Because the fascia needed to be repaired and painted before the new installation, Shannon worked with both the wood repair and painting companies to coordinate schedules. My wife and I joke that we're five years into a six month remodel. It was pretty extensive with almost everything, down to the wiring and plumbing, changed. The house has a flat roof and we went from a BUR (tar & gravel) to a foam roof to add some insulation to the design. Love the new roof! Along with the roof change, we replaced all the flashing and gutters and hired Five Star to come out to do the gutters. It's a modern design with tall metal-clad fascia that we wanted to match gutters both in style and color. Five Star was awesome in coming up with a few design recommendations and color match. The actually matched the dark bronze for the lateral runs and matched the lighter stucco color for the downspouts. The downspouts are works of art, following a couple of beams and protrusions across the two floors of the house. We had a couple of leaks at the downspout connections and the guys were quick to come out and fix those at no extra charge. It's been about two years since they did the work and everything still looks and works great. Highly recommended after all this time. It's an easy fix, but they won't come back to fix it. We've been trying to call for weeks. We leave messages; they call us and tell us that they need to call us back once they sort out their schedule, and then don't call back again. I would not recommend this company, because when they make an error, they will not fix it for you.
