I am extremely disappointed with my experience at A & R Automotive Services in Brush, Colorado. In February I brought my vehicle in because it had a torque converter shudder and rough idle. According to the invoice the technician suspected the torque converter might be damaged but recommended performing a transmission fluid flush with additive and then reevaluating the vehicle. When I scheduled the transmission service I spoke with a younger employee who told me there was a "50/50 chance" that the flush could help the problem. I understood there was no guarantee but based on that information I chose to proceed with the service. When I returned to pick up my vehicle after the transmission flush I was immediately met by an older employee who appeared angry before I even had the opportunity to ask about the car. He started raising his voice and repeatedly telling me that he already knew the transmission flush was not going to work and that the vehicle was not fixed. This happened before I had even asked a single question about the repair. Naturally I asked why the service had been performed if they supposedly already knew it would not help. The older employee became increasingly confrontational and repeatedly claimed that he had told my spouse and another person months earlier that the transmission was beyond repair and that the flush would not solve the issue. The problem is that this directly contradicted what I had been told when scheduling the service. The younger employee who originally spoke with me was present and stated that the older employee had "misspoke" and that the service had in fact been presented as a 50/50 chance. Instead of receiving a clear explanation I found myself caught in an argument between employees who could not agree on what had been communicated to the customer. The older employee continued to act aggressively repeatedly shoving paperwork toward me and demanding that I read it while talking over me. When I pointed out inconsistencies in what he was saying he became defensive rather than addressing my concerns. Meanwhile the younger employee continued repeating that the older employee had "misspoke" without providing any meaningful explanation. What upset me most was not that the repair failed. I understood from the beginning that it might not work. What upset me was the aggressive, confrontational, and unprofessional treatment I received when I asked reasonable questions. I left feeling talked down to, dismissed, and pressured rather than treated with respect. Customers deserve consistent information, honest communication, and professional treatment. The people here were amazing. We were traveling to Colorado with our grandson, pulling a trailer when we started experiencing problems with our truck. We got to Brush, Colorado and found A and R. They took the time to find the problem and were able to fix it. Luckily it was an easy fix. After about 2 hours we were back on the road. Tow set up thru car insurance roadside service ...which typically they screw up. ( Progressive) Was texted A & R info...called them immediately to confirm time I would be present with car keys to access vehicle. The tow driver was already on his way! So glad I called.... to set a tow time as insurance did not reiterate. Lynette in the A & R office was extremely helpful and dispatched correct tow time to driver. Not only did the driver Jimmy (James) call me later to confirm he was on his way, but as I sent my son to meet tow truck, Jimmy called me again to report vehicle tow was completed. My volkswagen picked up a nail in the rear tire but was holding pressure, so we limped in to A&R after speaking with the young woman who answers the phone. First rate service at a great price by techs who know their stuff. A very reasonable charge for patching and plugging a nearly new tire. Highly recommended. read more

Honesty and integrity are things that are lacking in our society. They are definitely not lacking at A&R! EXCELLENT customer service from everyone we've encountered! My husband and I are relatively new to the Brush community with us relocating here with his company. Having plenty of experience in this field, finding all new services can sometimes be an exhausting challenge. Finding A&R was such a blessing. As long as we are in Eastern Colorado, A&R is and will be our 'go to' for our automotive needs. read more

We blew a tire outside of Denver about 80 miles and our Roadside Assistance arranged for A&R Automotive to tow our car in! They arrived 20 minutes earlier than the quoted time, were friendly, efficient, and made a horrible situation as good as it could be! read more

Made an appointment for a few things to be looked at/ get done, i.e. brakes, sensor for abs/tpms/tc, dash lights not working, engine oil leak, and a loud annoying rattle like something underneath is loose. got it back ($1,098 bill) and the brakes were making a HIDEOUS noise, they said there was no engine oil leak, they couldn't find the rattle, the tpms light still comes on, the dash lights still don't work, AND...they did an oil change it didn't need that they charged me for. took it back in on a Thursday because of the brake noise and because it would be nice to see how fast I'm going in the dark(dash lights). they messed up the rotors for the brakes and had to replace them (under warranty), had to order a part for the dash lights (for another $250) and it should be done Friday. nope. no phone call Friday and I finally called them Monday at noon and they "might" have it done today? what a joke. read more

Had an appt at 9 am to install tires on my vehicle. I left vehicle with them all day while I was at work. When I came back to pick up my vehicle it hadn't been touched. Needless to say I was not happy and curious why not completed. At first no one knew anything about it and after asking around found out had another job holding them up. No phone call to let me know was going to be late or anything. Terrible way to do business and will never try and give them my business again!!!! read more

A&R went above and beyond in their accommodations when my car broke down traveling through Colorado! Garette helped us out going to lengths far greater than any mechanic would ever think to. If you're in the area, consider A&R as your go-to shop, because I wish they were the shop in my town! read more

Thought they were great until I took my VW to them with a window that wouldn't roll up. They left it out in an open lot for 3 days during monsoon rains and then called and told me I needed to take it to a dealer. Charged me $100 for nothing when I picked it up and never bothered to mention the huge puddle of water in the back floor. Car ran great until I got home to park; when I stopped and backed up there was a great WHOOSH as the water in back ran under the seat in front and fried the computer under there. Cost me $2500 to fix. read more

My boyfriend and I were traveling from Lincoln, Nebraska to Denver, Colorado and had car troubles on the way. A & R was the closest shop to us. We arrived at a time when they were completely booked for the day & closing in 30 minutes. Arvin & his team immediately diagnosed the problem and offered to stay 2 hours late to fix it so that we could get to our destination that evening. Great customer service.
