Disappointing Service! My 7-year old granddaughter left in tears because she didn't get her complimentary ice cream cone. We purchased a kids meal for her which includes a coupon for a free kids ice cream cone (the coupon was valid for this restaurant only). After we finished our meals, I buzzed for service in an attempt to redeem the coupon. I buzzed three times over the course of 10+ minutes with no luck. We gave up and left with a little girl in tears and a useless coupon (we are not from the Oshkosh area). read more

This restaurant used to be fantastic. Quick and accurate was the name of the game. Now, you're lucky if you get an order and if you do, it'll be wrong. Last time, after waiting 15 minutes I went to see what was taking so long. Turns out my order got bumped. Great, make it now and I'll be on my way. But oh wait, Tabbi can't remember the order she supposedly took down and doesn't seem bothered to fix the problem. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. This place will only leave you disappointed. Judging by the insane number of one star reviews, I'm not the only one who was on the receiving end of some hilariously bad workers. read more

After 1 1/2 years of unplaned visits I decided to give them their props. They do a vary good job with their food, deserts & cust. service. My faves are the rooter/vanilla swirl cone, and the single papa burger (Think it's a better balance of ingredients than the big papa). Of corse the RB floats are sensational. Was really looking forward to a Papa Burger and a Coney Dog. We ordered one Papa burger combo with fries, two single Papa burger combos with fries. And a Coney dog. All 3 orders with root beer. The only part of the order they got right was the root beer. Did not see the mistake until we got home with our food. We ended up getting three Papa burger singles with cheese curds and no Coney dog. So we ate what we got the burgers were barely warm the cheese curds were OK and the root beer was kinda bland. What a disappointment that place was. Should've known, when I was placing the order reading right off the menu the person taking the order said what do you mean by that. read more

The last 3 times I've tried to go to this location I waited long enough in the drive thru to just leave, the last experience I had I was first in line in the drive thru the automated thing came on asking me if I wanted cheese curds I said no placed my order was met with science for over a minute. I then said into the microphone hello? And was met with I'll be with you in one moment after about 6 minutes of science I drove away this one star has nothing to do with a&w food it's just this location I don't think i will return. read more

Waited 20 minutes for ONLY ice cream. The cone was melted. I ordered a Reese's swirl, the Reese's went bad, not stale bad, like 'this has been sitting for two years and is chewy' bad. Never again. read more

No Fast Food! Lucky to get any! As the only car at the drive through, I arrived at the order station on 6/22/18 at 5:50 pm. Was told to wait to give order three times. 25 minutes later they took my order. Drivers had pulled up behind me and walked up to ask me if the speaker was broken. I said "No they said they're busy!" There was only 7 other cars in the whole restaurant. I ordered two papa burgers, one regular hamburger, and one regular fries. I paid and they told me to pull ahead and wait. I finally got my three burgers and one frie half an hour later. Total drive thru experience took 55 minutes from the time I was actually at the speaker to order till I finally got my small order. How do they stay in business? Who the #$%@ is running this place? Does anyone even care? Very close to an hour for "fast food drive thru"? This was well after any supper rush hour. I like A&W food and this place is close to my house, but I will never go there again! I've been here before and they were very slow, but i thought it was a fluke and they were having a bad day. Wow the first to review A&W in Oshkosh. Frankly with the experience we had there this evening, I wonder how they stay in business. We went into the restaurant to order and stood there over 5 minutes. When you have to ask if someone can take your order, there's something wrong. After our order was finally taken, we stood there over 15 minutes for our carry out. So much for "fast food" at a fast food restaurant. It wasn't overly busy either..Upon checking the bags it was noted there were not enough sandwiches at which time another employee delivered a second bag. I spoke to this employee, a manager, and expressed my disappointment with their service and he was very polite and respectful. So, we drive home on the other side of town and unpacked our order and low and behold, no fish sandwich and another sandwich was not prepared as ordered. Back to the restaurant I go. The manager fixed the problem and did the right thing, comping the meal. You can't beat A&W root beer, which is just a classic, but as for the food overall it is average at best and monitarily is pretty high priced for fast food. Needless to say my order was not the only problem as at least 4 other customers were observed to have problems with their orders during our lengthy wait. If it was not for the root beer, I don't think I would go there again. I really hope they fix things, but this is not my first experience like this at A&W. The only reason A&W got a very generous 3 rating is because the manager was polite and respectful, and did the right thing by comping our meal. I hope they fix their other problems of getting orders correct, acknowledging their customers, taking orders in a timely manner and delivering the product to the customer according to franchise standards. read more
