Awesome! I love that I get informed about everything happening at the school and the district from…read morethe school and the association run by the parents. They do tons of fundraisers so it helps other parents with not having to put out a lot of out of pocket expenses. I don't know if they don't have AC here though. My son came home the first week of school and was so drenched in sweat. He also said it was really hot at school. But, I'm excited to see all the learning activities he comes home with.

When I graduated there were some AP classes (7 or 8) and I think there are even more now. The problem was that none of my teachers were qualified to teach at that level, so most of the work I did was self-taught. The school district is on the lower end of the Delco districts in terms of academics. Couple that with high property taxes and I don't know why you'd raise a family here. I'd guess reasons would mirror my family's: they grew up here so their kids grew up here. That ends with me!

This school has dramatically stunted my learning. The teachers do not expand very well on their…read morecore subjects, and instead go off on their own topics. As a result, part of the class time is waisted. When they finally decide to come down to earth, they do not do very well at explaining our actual lesson. Instead, they briefly introduce us to the concept without thoroughly helping troubled students. They say, they expect us to have learned the rest on our own while completing the heaping pile of homework they assigned. Before I came to this school, I've heard many positive things about it. This school's most important values are "Respect, responsibility, and honesty." However, I do not even see the teachers portraying this. The principal is a complete joke. He never values the opinions of the students and what they want. Many times, the principal is absolutely unprofessional. I do not believe that this is the best place for a principal to be swearing in spite of his anger. He has been allowing his mood to get the better of him and exploding at anything that ticks him off. On the flipslide, my old principal was very good at his job, and treated every student equally. He didn't treat any "problem student" any different than his "normies." His top priority is to beat the other district schools in PSSA testing (without any regards to the strain that puts on the student's mental health.) Don't even get me started on the assistant principal. I've seen her around the halls and everytime she yells at a students, she never allows them the chance to explain themselves, thus many students are unrightfully given detentions. The assistant principal is one of the biggest hypocrites I know. She tells people to always give other people a chance, while she doesn't follow it herself. All in all, this school has some good. I've met some great friends over the years and had some pleasant memories. While there's some bad teachers, I've met a couple of influential ones, who hopefully continue to bring light to this painful prison. As a former Norwood student, I hope any parent reading this will reconsider sending their child here.

She framed me while I was in 5th grade and I am now in 9th and learning more and more about what was right and wrong about what teachers did to me in the past so I will be reporting her tomorrow morning to the school and the district!!! I was listing to a lyric video while doing my work and I ask her for help and I clicked on the video at the top and she saw I was listening to music and she took my computer a student names marissa saw and heard it since she was in the front of the class and mrs.hassel put it on the from empty desk and marissa asked me if I was listening to "..." song and I said yes because she saw and heard it through the headphones. And I got called downstairs into the principals office and they said I was watching inappropriate stuff what a coincidence that she was on my computer before I went into the office I truly believe she framed me and I realized more and more and I truly hate her racist a**!!!

Large class size for a preschool, through there usually are ample staff. Financially a great deal. Partial days only (2.5 hrs, 2 or 3 days per week). Field trips usually require parent and do not allow younger siblings which is difficult --we had to miss several which was sad for my son. Parking lot is insufficient to accommodate all parents at once for pickup but there's ample street parking. On Chester Pike bus route. Small play yard can be used before and after school. My son had a OK time there for a year but after that we were ready to try something new, though they probably are the reason he's reading well at age 5, I wished they'd worked more on problem solving / social skills and left some of the reading learning to kindergarten.

I love that they're so into learning-through-exploring and make it easy to manage younger siblings by making them welcome at events like parties and conferences. Slight disadvantage: no outdoor space, though I've not to see partial day preschool to actually use such well.
