In reference to Sahara H., I don't think the truth is being told regarding "A Child's Academy". My Grandson going to this preschool and he is one of the children that Ms. H's son has bitten. He was approx. 5 months old and was bitten over his eye by this child. Her son is a very sweet little boy but he bites every child that he gets around. I have spoken to the director several times regarding this and she bent over backwards to try and help this child but had to constantly call these parents to come pick their son up because he was constantly getting in trouble for biting. A director who didn't care would have kicked this child out, with no second thought, after he bit a 5 month old baby over the eye. But we were all in agreement that this would not help Mrs. H's child. As far as them being charged when they had to pick him up, I have never seen a formal preschool that gave discounts if your child was not there, no matter the reason. I always had to pay the full amount whether my child was present or not. Thank you A Child's Academy for taking such wonderful, loving care of my grandson. I was involved in evaluating a nationwide pilot program that identified techniques that daycares can use to create "Supports for Parents" as a way to strengthen families. I quickly realized that many of the national best practices were already in place at A Child's Academy: staff knows me by name (and asks me how I'm doing), staff is responsive and supportive when I have questions about my child's development, staff has a curriculum that prepares children very well for kindergarten, and staff provides opportunities for parents to get together through holiday programs and in-class parties. This just reinforced what I already felt about A Child's Academy and why both of our daughters have been there since they were born: the parents and kids are treated with love and respect, in a warm and caring environment. read more

I do NOT recommend this place to anyone, the teachers and staff are nice, but can do nothing to help with the many billing problems you will have while at this daycare. The owners and billing department will ignore you, over charge you and tell you to pay money you know you do not owe. After they overcharge your bank account, (which they require you to have on file) you will not be able to reach anyone to discuss this. I have had nothing but problems since I have enrolled my children here. Nearly impossible to withdraw your kids from here. They require a 30 day notice to withdraw, and when the 30 day notice is up they will change to date in the computer and try to make you pay for care you didn't receive after the notice is up. Owners are very rude and snotty, treat you like a second class citizen. read more

do not i repeat do not enroll your kids at aca!!! my son went there and it was the worst mistake ever!! i have my personal issues and dealings with the horrible managrment and owner of the facility !!!!! i have spoken with dcf on many occasions. my son is now thriving in a much better daycare.this is attrocious our children are in these conditions. their frequent teacher turn around is alarming enough. (by the way i was told by the owner that high teacher turnover was normal in this line of work) which is false. amoung many other alarming issues. ive been told its only gotten worse. how this is this place still in business is way beyond me. read more

RAT INFESTED, TEACHERS A INCENTIVIZED TO LIE TO PARENTS. There's a chronic understaffing so older children are with younger so your 2 year old will be bullied but there's not enough teachers to stop all of it while doing their jobs. Also, teachers with NO BACKGROUND CHECK ARE LEFT ALONE WITH CHILDREN. The staff and teachers at ACA are wonderful. I believe they love my son and take great care of him. The facilities at ACA are excellent too. There's so many places they can play, explore, and see lizards and birds around the campus which makes his enrichment and curiosity easy to engage when he's there. I'll also add that the buggy walks and indoor playground (Bouncers) are a huge plus. Overall, I give ACA my strongest possible recommendation to parents who are looking for daycare! read more

What I love most about A Child's Academy is the Christmas Programs, Mothers & Fathers Day lunches, Thanksgiving programs for Parents. My daughter has learned to say grace before all our meals. Doing learning activities during daycare hours instead of just play (like a previous school we went to). My child is 3 and they already have her reading, writing and couting. read more
